Carry out small-scale research by applying qualitative and quantitative research
methods appropriate for meeting project aims and objectives:
Research methodology is a systematic plan that helps the researcher to conduct the
research in more effective way. It can be described as a framework within which the
researcher has perform the study. It involves the methods, designs that are used throughout
the study that helps to achieve aim and objectives of the research (McCusker, K. and
Gunaydin, 2015).
Research philosophy:
It refers to the idea about the way in which researcher has collected and analysed
and used the data. It mainly deals with the nature, source and generation of the knowledge.
Basically, research philosophy is of four types such as Pragmatism that uses mixed data
collection. According to this philosophy, research questions is the main factor of research
philosophy. Another is positivism, it is highly structured and requires a large sample. It is
based on the view that, knowledge can be gained with the help of observation. Realism
research philosophy relies on the idea of independence. It is based on the idea that scientific
methods supports in development of knowledge. Lastly, Interpretivism research philosophy
that requires small sample (McNichols, M.F. and Stubben, 2018).

Among all, the researcher chooses interpretivism research philosophy because it
supports the researcher to conduct the study in more precise way. The data collected will be
of high validity and trustworthy.
Research approach:
Research approach is a plan that involves detail method of gathering , analysing and
interpreting data. Research approach is mainly divided into three types that are Deductive
approach, in which assumptions and conclusions are true. It helps to test the validity of the
hypothesis. Inductive research approach, it does not involves development of assumptions
and it starts with formulating aims, objectives and research questions. Lastly, Abductive
research approach ,it helps to address the limitations that are related with other two
approaches (Pastore, F. and Pompili, 2019).
Above all, the researcher chooses Deductive research approach because it assist
the researcher to collect the best results of the study and also helps to perform the research
in a specific manner.
Research Design:
It is a combination of methods and procedures that are used to collect and analysed
the different elements of the research. It can be described as the choice of specific method
for collecting and analysing the data during the study. So that, it will help to specify the
research problem in an effective way. It is of two types that is exploratory and conclusive
research design. Exploratory research design, it helps to develop insights in respect of a
particular situation and it includes small size sample. Another is Conclusive research design,
it supports the researcher to select a particular course of action and it includes large size
sample (Schwalbe, 2015).
From the above, researcher chooses descriptive research under Conclusive
research design because, it helps to analyse the topics that are not quantifiable and assist
the researcher to achieve the aim and objectives of the research in more effective way.
Data Collection:
It refers to the process of gathering information from various sources so that,
researcher can provide answer of research questions. Generally, there are two methods for
collecting data primary and secondary data collection method. Primary research refers to the
methodology that researcher uses for collecting data rather than using the data collected by
previous research conducted by other person. Primary researchwill help to collect fresh
data regarding the current project of Milka for improving the way of hiring, selecting and
providing training to employees. This will help Researcher to achieve the purpose of study.
Secondary data refers to the data that was already collected by some other person .

Example of secondary data are government journals, magazines, books, papers of research
scholars etc. Data collection methods are divided in two categories. Quantitative method
of data collectionincludes mathematical calculations. It helps the researcher to generalise
the results of the study. Questionnaire is a series of questions that helps to collect
information from respondents. It is the common method of collecting quantitative data. For
quantitative research, Researcher has used questionnaire for collecting data using simple
random sampling.Qualitative researchdoes not involve numbers, it is related with words,
emotions etc. It helps the Researcher to ensure high level of understanding. Purposeful
sampling means sample selected by Researcher on the basis of features of population
(Silverman, 2016).
Researcher has used books, published surveys, journals for collecting secondary data.
Data Analysis:
It refers to the process of analysing, cleansing and modelling data with the objective
of collecting some information and also helps in effective decision-making. It is of two types
qualitative data analysis is non-numeric information. Quantitative data analysis may include
calculating the frequency to support or reject the assumptions (Talman, 2018).
Researcher chooses quantitative data analysis to conduct the current research study.
Sampling:
It is the method of selecting some people out of large population. Mainly it is of two
types. Probability sampling, in this every member of the population has a chance of
participating in the study. Non-probability sampling, all the members does not have chance
of getting selected in the study (Künnecke, 2018).
Researcher has choose Simple random sampling under probability sampling. In this,
researcher has selected 35 employees to conduct the study in effective way.
Ethical Consideration:
It is an important aspect of research. It defines the principles related with moral
considerations.
· Researcher should respect all the members of the survey and obtain their
consideration before conducting the research.
· Privacy of the participants should be ensured.
· Researcher should ensure confidentiality of data.
· Members should not be harm in any way (van Esch, Black, J.S. and Ferolie,
