INTRODUCTION
Human Resource Management refers to the process of recruiting, selecting and
providing opportunity of training and development to the employees of the organization. So
that, firm will get competitive advantage over competitors. It plays an important role in
achieving the goals and objectives of the business. International Organization for
Standardization has issued various standards regarding management of human resource
(Cascio, 2015). This project is based on Milka. The headquarter of the company is located at
Switzerland. It deals in wide range of products such as dairy products, confectionery, baby
food etc. Human Resource Manager of Milka is responsible to perform various operative and
managerial functions like hiring, selecting, providing compensation and training to the
workers. The Report will provide the ways in which Milka can improve process of
recruitment, selection and training.

Devise project aims and objectives for the chosen topic as specified above in the
assignment:
Aims
Recruitment is the process of attracting and influencing the candidates to apply for the
vacant job position in the organization. Whereas, in case of selection, Human resource
department of the firm select most suitable candidate to fulfill vacant job position. Training is
the process of improving the present level of skills of the employees. The aim of the
research is “To analyse the ways to improve recruitment, selection and training. A case
study of Milka.
Objectives :
Objective 1
To highlight the importance of life-long learning, as functioning of training and
development to meet international STDS of HR practices.
Objective 2
To identify the concept of hiring, selecting and training the employees that will help to
meet out international standards.
Objective 3
To determine the importance of recruitment, selection and training of the workers that
will support Milka to meet international standards .
Objective 4

To analyse the ways of providing on- the- job training, guiding/coaching and
individual development programmes for the employees.
Objective 5
· To recommend the ways to improve recruitment, selection and training that helps
the firm to meet out standards of recruitment, hiring and training at global level.
Research Questions :
· What is the value of hiring, selecting and training employees in Milka ?
· What are the ways for giving guiding and coaching, on- the-job training to the
workers ?
· What are the methods for improving the process of recruitment, selection and
training the employees ?
· What is the role of hiring, selecting and training employees ?

Produce a project management plan that covers aspect of cost, scope, time, quality,
communication, risk, and resources:
Project –
It is a unique attempt made by an organization to develop a certain type of tangible
or intangible result such as service , product or competitive advantage etc. Project involves a
series of different tasks that are to be implemented over a period of time. There are various
requirements of the project such as quality, cost, performance etc (Eyers, D. and Naim,
2019).
Importance of the project -
Project management refers to the act of planning, monitoring and controlling the work
of team members to attain specific goals in a particular period of time. It plays an important
role in achieving the objectives of the firm. Further, it helps the management to control the
cost and also to improve the quality of the products or services (Sitzmann, T. and Weinhardt,
2018). The current project is about identifying the ways in which Milka can improve the
process of recruitment, selection and training of the workers so that, it will meet international
standards.
Scope -
The current project will help Milka to realise the benefits of improving the process of
hiring, selecting and providing training opportunities to the employees in the future. Providing
training through On-the-job method, implementing formal training programmes for the
workers will help Milka to develop skills and competencies of the employees (Holm, A.B. and

Haahr, 2018). This will help the firm to gain competitive advantage over other organizations.
Researcher should possess adequate knowledge of the terms that are used in conducting
research. So that, aims and objectives of the study can be achieve.
Project Cost -
It refers to the total expenditure that firm will have to incur for completing the project.
Total cost of the project is consist of direct and indirect cost. There are various elements of
project cost like material, labour, overheads etc.

It will describe the total cost that has to incurred for completion of the project for
improving the recruitment, selection and training of the employees of Milka. Researcher has
to develop the budget that will include expenses to incur in various categories for effective
implementation of the project.

Produce a work breakdown structure and a Gantt chart to provide timeframes and
stages for completion:
Time :
It is one of the major element of project management plan. It refers to the time period
required for completing the project in effective way. Therefore, it is essential for the
researcher to manage all the activities so that, project will be completed on time. To
accomplish the project, research will require approximately 100-180 days.
Quality :
It refers to the quality of the process, inputs that are used in completing the project.
Researcher should develop the quality plan for ensuring the better quality of the resources.

Quality of the equipments, tools and techniques that will be used for providing training to
staff must be good. Further, researcher should ensure that, company should recruit skilled
trainers for giving training to workers. This will help to achieve the aim and objectives of the
project.
Communication :
Communication is an important element of project management plan. Management
of Milka have to communicate the benefits and the risks that are associated with the project.
Researcher must develop a communication plan for communicating the details of the project
to internal as well as external stakeholders of Milka such as management, shareholders,
Government, creditors etc.
Risk :
Risk refers to the possibility that something that cause loss or harm. There are
various types of risks that may be related with project management . Such as risk related
with cost that may result due to inaccurate estimation of the cost, schedule risk which means
that, activities related with project take more time as compared to expected time. Other than
this, performance risk may arise which means that, project is failed to provide the desired
results. Researcher should maintain risk register to include all the details in respect of
project risk and possible solutions to overcome the risk (Kerzner, 2017).
Resources :
Resources are required for effective completion of the current project. Resources is
of various types such as human resource, funds, equipments etc. Researcher should ensure
that, Manager of Milka should possess expertise and skills for effective hiring, selection and
training of the employees as well as equipments must be available in better condition for
providing training to the workers to meet international requirements (Kliem, R.L. and Ludin,
2019).
Work breakdown structure -
It refers to the method of completing a complex task in fast way and in efficient
manner. It break down the whole project in individual and more manageable tasks. It helps
to improve team productivity and better management of the project (Kumar, 2019).
