INTRODUCTION
Globalisation is the process of expanding of organisations at international level or
develops international influence. Each and every firm desires to expand their business at
international level for gaining maximum profit and productivity. Therefore for maintaining the
competition in the market, organisations needs to introduce their innovative products and
services due to increasing globalisation. The company taken in this project report is Jaguar which
is a luxury vehicle brand headquartered in Coventry, United Kingdom. This company is
subsidiary of Tata motors which is an Indian vehicle brand. This report will discuss the aims and
objectives of the company by producing a project management plan. Also work break down
structure and Gantt chart will be provided for determining the time frames and stages of
completing the project. A small research will be conducted for generating the knowledge
required for supporting the project. Further analysis of the gathered data will be done using
suitable tools. In the end, recommendations will be provided based on the reflection of value of
undertaking the project to meet the objectives.
Positive impact of globalisation on the businesses in UK:
Cultural impact: For expanding the business at international level, companies needs
support of their workers from various cultural backgrounds for taking their help in effectively
handling the customers of different culture during the globalisation process. By avoiding the
culture, companies can face problems and issues in achieving the sustainability in a short period
of time (Baiden and Price, 2011). With the help of various cultural backgrounds of employees,
company can maintain healthy relationship with the customers of various cultures.
Economical impact: Organisations are directly responsible for development and growth
of the country in which they are operating by creating more job opportunities, paying tax to the
local governments etc. This is the main reason for inviting the foreign organisations into a
country by the government. So, globalisation is positively effecting the growth of an economy in
a country.
Ethical impact: Government of any country forms their own laws and regulations for
organisations to operate their business ethically. Employees need to follow these ethical rules
and regulations for communicating or dealing with their targeted clients or customers. Through
this the company can maintain healthy and better relations with their customers and with the
country in which they are operating their businesses (Breese, 2012).

through interview, observation, survey etc. Secondary data is type of
information collected through internet, newspaper, books, magazine,

and reliable information before the analysis.
In quantitative research, the focus is required to be put quantity of
data using the survey technique by giving preference to interview,
observation, personal meeting etc. In this, quantity is required to do
the analysis on the bulk basis. While in the quality research,
preference will be given to feasibility and reliability of information
collected using the newspaper, Journals, Books, Internet etc.
Work Breakdown structure and Gantt chart for the project
Work breakdown structure: It is the segmentation of huge project in the smaller portions
for completing them easily and in the predetermined period of time. When the project is
segmented in small parts, it can be delivered easily in an effective manner in less time. Through
the work breakdown structure, the smaller parts can be assigned to different teams so that they
can execute them effectively. It is essential in managing and coordinating with teams whom the
portions are assigned (Sparrow, 2012). Through the hierarchical system, the desired goals and
objectives can be met with the disintegration of team in smaller parts. This work breakdown
structure involves elements like products, services, employees etc. which are necessary for
executing the work properly. This structure is helpful in deciding the necessary funds and
resources which are essential for the effective completion of project in the specified time. The
overall value of project can be determined through this structure.

Gantt chart: It is the graphical representation of allotted time frame of the project which
is beneficial for facilitating, planning and tracing the ongoing activities of the assigned project.
In this, the arrangements are outlined in horizontal lines which indicates the measures needs to
be taken for executing the project in the given time-frame which is allotted in the initial state of
project (Thamhain, 2014). In this chart, the activities are divided on the basis of assigned period
of time. This chart provides the predetermined goals through which the employees stays aligned
with the assigned work for executing it on the time. This chart provides positive results to the
organisation in the assigned project. With the help of this chart, employees can finish their
assigned work properly in an efficient manner which will also increase the efficiency of the firm.

Points to consider:
What have you completed?
I had executed the given project which helped me to determine the economic, cultural, ethical
and positive impact of globalisation on the various functions of Jaguar cars. Through this
25
research, I am capable of doing such research in future.
Did you fulfil task requirements?
Yes
Are you on track and within deadlines set?
Yes
Did you need to make any changes to your project management plan?
Yes
Any risks and/or issues identified?
Points to consider:
Did you identify risks/issues with a lack of skills required for undertaking research/tasks?
Yes, lack of strong communication skills and less time helped me in dealing with less
participants of the questionnaire. Language barriers is also another factor which restricted
me in effectively communicating with the people of different cultures.
Did you identify any additional risks/issues that have an impact on the project
management plan?
No
Problems encountered
Points to consider:
What barriers did you face?
Less communication skills and technical skills.
How did you overcome them?
By continually communicating with the people and with my team members. Also the
manager was helpful for improving my technical skills.
New ideas and change of project direction
Secondary data sources are also beneficial to adopt as they are less time consuming along
with the less cost and efforts.
