INTRODUCTIONThe services of accommodation refers to proving facility of hospitality for guests. Thisincludes accommodation of room, food, entertainment, fitness, travel and many more. InterContinental Hotels Group is a British multinational hotel, it was founded in April 2003. The presentreport will emphasizes in gaining information about the contribution of housekeeping inaccommodation services (Odunlade, 2012) . The report will be end up by providing facilities toguest and along with this importance of security will also get discussed.TASK 3P6 Review the key roles found within the housekeeping department in a selected organisation.House keeping is very essential part of InterContinental Hotels Group, as this help them incleaning and maintaining their rooms and premisses. There are various roles which house keepinghas to play inInterContinental Hotels Group, some of them are as follow :-1.Cleaning the rooms and other areas according to the standards of company. In this they haveto clean the beds, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms.2.Take care about cleaning of uniforms of employees of different departments and provingthem clean uniform.3.Handle and store the chemicals in safe areas which are detailed according to legislations ofcompany and their department.4.Have to greet guest and also have to acknowledge them.5.Have to give detail to their superiors when service and cleaning of room get completed, sothat they can sold or provide rooms to guests (Rose, 2014) .6.Detail their supervisors about wear and tear in premisses, that they can provide neededrepair. Also have to give details about unsafe conditions at arises in premisses.7.Have to report immediately for any health or safety accident, and also all the safety rulesand procedures should be followed by them.8.For ensuring the guest satisfaction, they need to respond guest complaints, special requestsand take actions accordingly.9.Minimise the waste in area of house keeping and also monitor and control suppliers andamenities.
