INTRODUCTIONIn order to improve business performance and quality of outcomes, the term managingbusiness activity plays an important role. Managing business activity has a special contributionin strategic planning and functioning. In every organisation, three basic activities are essentiallyperformed such as planning, organising and controlling. It is very important to manage thesethree basic activities in effective and right manner because it gives direct impact on businesspractices and operations (Arlbjørn, 2011). The management of these three activities are known asmanaging business activity. With the help of this, organisations are able to maximise theirefficiency and profitability because it analyses the impact of available risks and opportunities.The present research report helps in understanding the concept of managing business activities.For this purpose, given case study of ABC Company which is a recruitment firm is beingconsidered. This organisation is facing issues in few areas such as inadequate leadership andineffective management. These issues also gives impact on the performance and productivity ofthe cited firm. In order to resolve these problems, it is very important to develop suitablebusiness processes and activities in order to be successful. This report helps in understanding theimportance of business processes in delivering outcomes which are based upon their businessgoals and objectives.TASK 1 1.1 Interrelationships between different processes and functions of ABC Company The ABC Company follows the functional type organisational structure in whichhierarchy is designed according to different types of functions. As per provided case study, everyemployees of this firm has to report to their senior person or supervisor. In addition, role cultureis adopted by them as well, The higher authorities are such as General Manager, Human resourcemanager, Finance manager, Marketing manager, Environmental and Operation Manager (Burke,2011). 1

The functional structure allows theemployees to focus on their specific mission and objectives. In this, senior employees providessupport and guidance to their subordinates so that they can perform their work in more efficientway. Both culture and structure of organisation influence the performance by managing andperforming the work in appropriate and right manner. Further, the term business process isbasically the set of various types of activities which help the organisation to develop values forboth employees and customers (What Is the Relationship Between Organizational Functions &Organizational Structure?. 2016.). According to functional type structure of ABC Company,different types of functional departments are liable to perform the activities which are related totheir fields. In order to gain the success, departmental leaders are requires to lead and guide thestaff members in right direction so that they can perform the activities more successfully. Bothbusiness processes and functions help the cited firm to attain the objectives and goals in rightmanner. The main motive of company is to provide high quality and excellence consultancyservices to other business firms. For this purpose, all department of ABC are interlinked withother to meet this motive. 2
