INTRODUCTION
Managing business activities to achieve results emphasize on successful planning and
management of business operations. It provides knowledge and skills to employees to design
and helps in implementing the system. Operational systems are designed to develop
effectiveness and efficiency to achieve desired results. It shows interrelationship of business
processes and the implementation of operational plans. It also determines the maintenance of
quality system and safety measures in attaining satisfactory results. ABC Company has been
selected for this project report. Further, the report majorly focuses on different organizational
processes and functions.
TASK1
1.1 Evaluate the interrelationship between the different processes and functions of company.
As an operational manager of ABC a recruitment company, I have observed the overall
organization structure (Oyemomi. et.al. 2016). The main problem of ABC Company is its poor
management and ineffective leadership. The company faces deficits and all these are the causes
of organizational failure. The business processes is a collection of inter-dependent activities and
tasks. It creates service as well as products for business clients. Following are different business
processes recommended to ABC organization to improve the deficiencies of the organization:
 Management Process- It is a system which includes strategic management and
corporate governance. It helps to determine several factors such as business plans, risk
assessment, management of risk, financial objectives, roles and responsibilities of
management (Medrano, and Medrano, 2016). It also includes other factors such as
quality control, identification of IT threat, contingency plan, disaster recovery and
compliance of legislations.
 Business process re-engineering – It was developed by Hammer and Davenport to
improve organizational effectiveness and productivity. It involves complete demolition
of existing process and creates new and improved processes in place.

ABC Company

The management process of business is recommended for ABC Company to improve the
poor and ineffective management (Grant, 2016). The application of management process in the
organization will convert deficits of organization into profits. It also helps to enhance growth of
the company by removing deficiency of business. On the other hand, Business process re-
engineering can be used in the organization to improve product and service of the company. It
helps in overcoming in delay operations of business by increasing the efficiency of employees.
It generates employment opportunities and converts organizational failure into success.

1.2 Justify methodology used to map processes of company's goals and objectives
Every organization is required to define its basic purpose, philosophy and value of doing
business.
Mission statement
The mission statement of organization defines nature of the company. It describes the
reason of existence of business and also defines its career path (Bacq,and Hartog, 2016). The
mission statement of ABC Company is designed to achieve long-term objectives but rely on the
short-term goals. The company focuses on short-term operational goals to achieve success.
Creating a mission statement is a group task. It requires involvement of board of directors and

several other competent authorities in preparing the mission statement. It clearly defines the
narrow perspective of the company while emphasizing on short-term goals and objectives.
Process improvement
It clearly defines the step by step process to identify the deficiencies. It helps to improve
the process of ABC Company (Turner, 2016). The first step is current physical which defines
the existing process. Next step is current logical which clearly determines the technical aspects
of the process. Another step is future Logical it means what future technology can be applied in
the process and last step is Future physical which indicates the correct implementation of
changes in the process.

1.3 Evaluate the output of process required to build quality gateway
There are number of factors which affect research and development process. One of the
most important tasks of every business organisation is to determine cost (Bradley, 2016). Before

introducing new technologies in the business, every enterprise is required to take care about their
cost of research.
Changing technologies will greatly affect company's product or process development.
Technological change will provide a lot of opportunities for the organization to improve their
poor management. It can be stated that ABC Company’s structure and organisational culture are
important factors that have been greatly influenced by goals and objectives of the business. The
objective of the ABC Company is to deliver goods and services to their customers and
effectively operate business without any problems (Christopher, 2016). The on-going processes
of ABC Company are to shape the future of the organisation and clear the path of success of the
company.
Using appropriate leadership styles, democratic style can be used by ABC Company. It helps to
achieve adequate goals and objectives of the business. This Leadership style is widely used by
company to change negative situations into positive. It helps employees to generate huge
revenue for company by building quality culture within the organisation.2.1 Develop plan to
promote goals and objectives of ABC Company
Products and services offered by business are major influential factors. It affects several
decisions taken of the corporate. (Chang, 2016) Designing plans for achieving aims and targets
of the company.
Following are the major considerations involved while designing a plan for the company:

are opportunities and threats.
2.2 Write SMART objectives
SMART objectives are used to assess suitability of objectives to improve the business
process (Ward and Peppard 2016). It helps in meeting business obligations in a well defined
manner.
 Specific - The objectives of an organisation should be concise and to the point to achieve
goals of an organisation. The objectives can be expressed in general terms. It specifies
the criteria to judge performance of the determined objectives.
 Measurable – The goals of the company can be quantitative in nature. It helps to judge
accuracy by applying the standard metric system. The objectives are statistically
measured and help business to identify effectiveness of approach (Shu and Zhou, 2016).
The revenue of company can be pre-determined such as 10% or 12% of objective
achieved by the company in the current year.
 Attainable – It can be achievable and realistic in nature. It should not involve any
unrealistic and impossible targets. The objectives should not be set too high or too low to
challenge the ability of the company.
 Relevant – The objectives should be related to the main business of the company. It
should reflect the corporate aims of the organization.
 Time-based – The goals should be achieved within the time frame. The objects are
designed to meet the given deadlines. It is important to maintain discipline in the
business environment by completing the objectives on time.
2.3 Implement appropriate systems to achieve business objectives
Following are the appropriate systems to achieve objectives in an efficient and effective
manner to meet the different goals:
 Nature of goal - The goal should be clear, achievable and measurable to ensure quality
management of the business (Stacchezzini and Melloni, 2016). The targets of

organization should be within the time frame. The formulation of goal is important to
execute the overall system properly.
 Quality- It has three dimensions such as high accuracy, greater compliance and high
customer satisfaction to improve each and every part of the process. Its main aim is to
make sure that products meet expectations of the customer. Maintaining quality of
business operations helps to attracts several customers. It enhances the brand image of
the enterprise.
 Training- It describes the skills, knowledge and potential of an employee to carry
specific tasks for the company (Martin-Rios and Parga-Dan 2016). It helps to ensure the
quality maintenance of the company by increasing skills and capability of the employee.
 Budget constraints- Every organisation's main focus is towards preparation budget. It
ensures the compliance of budget requirements of the entity to achieve the aims of the
business environment. It helps to monitor the changes in budget as compared with actual
performance.
2.4 Carry out work activities for developing operational plan through effective monitoring and
controlling
The operational plan is an instrument which guides organisation in completing daily
routine operations. It helps in optimum utilisation of human resources of the business enterprise.
Following are the three stages of effective monitoring and control of operational plan:
 Project Planning – It refers in overall analyzing the project to identify accurate facts
and information. It involves identification of problems and complex situations in a
project (Irene and Marika, 2016). It also helps to define clear goals and objective of the
project. It includes designing of a budget for the project and their work plan. It requires
deep understanding of the project to identify respective solutions.
 Project Implementation – It means efficient use of resources and close monitoring is
required at every point of the process to control resources and ensure its operations in the
business. The process requires clear support from all the departments of business to
implement the project.
 Project Evaluation- It determines the viability of the project by proper verification of
the project. It helps to evaluate the project by using different judgement criteria. It

enables an organization to forecast the returns by using different techniques of capital
budgeting. These techniques help to calculate the returns from project in the financial
terms.
TASK 2
3.1 Design systems to manage and motor quality standards of ABC company
A quality management system has been designed for close monitoring and maintenance
of standards of the company (Witjes and Vermeulen, 2016). It has been developed by an
organisation to achieve satisfaction.
Following are the considerations needs to be taken care in designing quality management
system:
 Knowledge and training
 Specialisation
 Quality standards
 Appropriate tools
 Effective leadership
 Goof communication
 Better workplace
 Intensive team support
 Appropriate assigning of responsibilities
The model of quality management system consists of clear defining of level of quality needed
by an organisation (Medrano, and Medrano, 2016). Next step is measuring quality standards to
determine the business relevancy. Another step is accepting or rejecting of product as per the
requirements and expectations of the enterprise. Final step is Documentation of critical
operations taken care by an organisation for proper evaluation of the standards. These standards
are required to meet external obligations on the business environment.
3.2 Demonstrate a quality culture
Continuous improvement in organizational culture helps in creating loyalty among the
employees towards the company. It helps in maintaining the quality service of employees.
Quality culture facilitate in continuous monitoring and evaluation with the help of principles and
guidelines of organization (Grant, 2016). It is a set of group values that guides how

improvements take place in the routine operations of business. It is primarily based on nature of
the customers. It is essential for company to understand that it is not a single time process but

Following are the recommended improvements to align organisational goals and

Implementation of strategy- Alignment of organisational objectives and goals begins with
successful implementation of the strategy (Antoncic and Auer Antoncic, 2016). Quicker
execution of company’s strategy helps management to allocate different human resources across
various projects.
Cultural awareness - Company is required to make the employees aware about the pros and
cons and about the organisational culture to achieve the desired goals planned by an
organisation. It also helps the organization in reducing the employee turnover.
Communication of strategy- It helps in maintaining correct balance of objectives and goals
with organizational performance. It assists the organization to align with the business strategy.
The strategy has to be communicated to all the employees in a right manner so that
improvements can correctly align with the goals and objectives of business..
Increased operating margins- It is helpful for an organization to increase employee
engagement. It provides clear visibility of reporting levels.

3.4 Report on the wide implications of proposed changes within ABC Company
Appropriate quality management techniques are used for proper management of quality culture.
Balance scorecard technique is very effective for ABC organisation (Bacq and Hartog, 2016). It
helps an enterprise to monitoring quality culture of an organisation. It is a tool used for product
management. . It emphasize on strategic agenda of the enterprise. Its implication on business is
that it acts as a control at the time of implementing the strategy. It helps an organisation to
reduce employee turnover. It also improves administration structure of the company. It enhances
the role of leadership to improve the ineffective leadership in ABC Company. It also helps in
continuous improvement in production cycle of the organization to improve the delayed
operations (Bergmann and Stechemesser, 2016). It prepares employee for future changes in the
business environment and building stable environment.
4.1 Plan how to carry risk assessment in organization
Following are the risk assessment procedure carried out by an organization to identify
risks at the workplace: Identification of hazards - It involves all activities that could harm employees. It is
helpful by using manufacturer's guide, old employee’s ill- health records, and routine
inspection of the workplace. Evaluate the risks - It involves anticipation of upcoming risk faced by the company in
near future. It also prepares company to deal with the complex situations.
 Review of the assessment- It determines the changes in environment and their impact on
the business. It can be positive as well as negative. 4.2 Demonstrate health and safety
regulation
Following are the health and safety regulations and legislations applicable at the
workplace:
 Management of health and safety at work regulations 1999- This act came into
existence to protect interests of employees (Bianchi and Wickramasekera, 2016). It
focuses on health and safety measures adopted by the organization.

 Workplace Regulations Act 1992- It provide benefits to employee at the workplace
such as proper lighting, Ventilated office, separate toilets for male and female
employees.
 Health and safety regulations 1992- The aim of this act is to reduce working risks and
hazards. Conduct regular health check-ups for an employee to ensure their proper health.
 Manual handling operations regulations- It requires every employer to follow
guidelines of this act to avoid the injury at the workplace.
4.3 Plan how to carry out systematic review of organizational health and safety policies
Following are the methods of reviewing systems of health and safety policies:
 Better control Management- The methods are designed by management to check
compliance of health and safety measures. It also helps to review and monitor the
regulations.
 Significant actions by management- The authority should ensure that proper audit is
conducted in the organisation. Changes in the policies adopted by an enterprise needs to
be taken into consideration.
 Good practice- The management conducts periodic review to check existence of safety
policies (Breja and Banwet, 2016). It helps an enterprise to prepare itself from future
uncertainties.
4.4 Carry out practical application of health and safety policies
Health and safety policies and procedures adopted by an organisation at the workplace
are:
 Work environment- To boost up the confidence of employees, the employer should
provide clean and open work environment. Good housekeeping of office increases the
internal energy of an employee.
 Training- Training given to employees before starting any machines and technological
devices. It helps to make them aware about the machines which they will be using.

 Better infrastructure- Buildings of the offices are resistance to natural calamities.
Proper working of the lifts in the office premises. No smoking rule imposed in the
premises to maintain the discipline in firm.
 Safety tools and kits- Safety gears can be used by employees to avoid danger. It also
necessary for an employee to take care about their own life.
 Health check-ups- Periodic health check-control of employees conducted by an
employer (Oyemomi. et.al. 2016). It enhances the loyalty among employees towards the
company.
CONCLUSION
From the above study it can be concluded that the ABC Company can adopt the
recommended methods to improve their overall business growth. The above recommendations
are helpful for the organization to convert their failure into organizational success. It shows
different quality methods, business processes that can be used by ABC Company to improve its
deficiencies of business.
