INTRODUCTION Human Resource Management is the management of available humanlike resource in an organisation. In this the employee performance is maximise in order to achieve the targeted goals and objective of the firm. Employment of an individual in a health and social care is a challenge for the management department. Health and social care is a very changing and wide industry across the world (Baggett and et.al., 2010). These type of organisation attract the country government and getting more attention. This report explains how the health and social care organisation manage the available human resource. St-Margaret's nursing home is located in mid city of London. It recruit best employees for providing better service to their patient. TASK 1 1.1 Factors related to the recruitment planning in (HSC) Health and social care in a very speedily changing and wide organisation in the world. Recruitment planning is the most important in human resource management. Different recruit methods are used by the firms, the St-Margaret's nursing home recruit employees on the basis of certainand reliable research which is helpful in identifying the future need and want of the organisation in order to getting success.Many factors are included in the recruitment planning some are explains as under: Firstly the firm need to decide which type of staff is required in health and social care sectors. Secondly required to make an effective system to evaluate the performance of employees in an organisation. These two factors directly affected to the workers keeping and to get attraction. The St- Margaret's nursing home recruit people on the basis of their skills and knowledge in order to attaining the needs and wants of the patients. Their basic aim is to provide satisfactory service to the customers (Care Quality Commission, 2012). They evaluate employees performance in weekly, yearly, monthly basis. 1.2 Legislative and policy framework influence the recruitment and selection There are various legislative acts that control the process of recruitment of an individual in an organisation. Some acts such as Employment right act 1996, Race relation act 2000, Equality act 2010. These all actsinfluences recruitment and selection at the work place. These 1

These acts are influenced by plans and policies that are designed by government which included betterment in various opportunities for older peoples (Chan, 2010). This helps in making the labour market more efficient and and flexible which can be changed according to needs and wants of people. This also helps in fair recruitment plans and policies that will be beneficial for human beings. In relation to various government policies, various health and social care organisations have implemented their own procedures for recruitment process and these will be based on non discrimination act and elements in organisations (Korda and Itani, 2013). Example: Social care councils have implemented their own code and conduct of practices so as to remove discrimination for the social workers. Code of practices are framework that are to be followed by organisation in recruiting and selection of employees. The employers are given a particular task which ensures that individual are suitable for the workforce with the desired plans and policies. 1.3 Different approaches that may be used to ensure the selection of the best individuals TheSt-Margaret'snursinghomefirstneedtorequiredtoprovidevacancy advertisement to chose the right people for success and growth of the organization. Some advertising methods are used by the firm such as newspaper, radio channels, students and youngsters,social websites etc. second and major step is to short listing in this the company collect the CV and then check the application and evaluate that the application is related to the giving advertisement or not. After the the member of the nursing home select the CV which suites the requirement of the firm. Then the HSC inform those people for interview round through email op telephonic call. Next step is selection of the employees in this the organization select those who have experience in this sector because this is all about the services provided to the patients (Edwards and et.al., 2010). After selection of an employee the organization provide an introduction session in which the give the required detail to the person about the firm and then explain their work and responsibility. 2

Some steps are as under: Forming: This is first stage in this the firm make procedure for group structure. This stage explains how an individual start to interact and try to know each other. This stage is all about the level of understanding, the understand help them to work at the same place with trust and friendly behavior. Norming:The major work of this stage is to identify the values, norms and beliefs. In this the member of groups are focused towards attaining the organizational goal and objectives. Performing:This is the final and for most important stageof Armstrong theory, in this the relationship of employees are explained (Erdley, Anklam and Reardon, 2014). The social and health care sectors are providing help and satisfaction to different individuals. They create some group on the basis of mutual understanding of each other. 2.2 Approaches that may be used to develop effective team working In an organization they have to use some of the major approaches through which they can built an effective team working at Margret health care which are as follow: 1. Avoidance: The major thing which get signifies with this method is to avoid unnecessary things and arguments which are taking place. this procedure is generally utilize to avoid conflict between each other (Hasson, 2010). 2. Compromising: Another factor with the aim of creating effective team working. it leads to compromise the issues with the help of making a meeting between such employees in which the issues generally arise. 3
TASK 3 3.1 Different ways to monitored individuals performance Monitor means control of an individual in an organisation, it can be done by many ways. Firstly the St-Margaret's nursing home need to identify the actual need of performance, and where the improvement can be made effectively. The manager and employees are formed in an agreement in which the improvements can be made efficiently and effectively. The changes and improvements are necessary to merge in the teams goals and objectives, this is the major task which is performed by the manager of the organisation.This implement the proper knowledge and understanding within the member of team and have power on their own task. The nursing home mostly use the tool of performance appraisal it is helpful in measure an individual's performance. It has 5 major keys such as feedback, measurement, positive reinforcement, exchange of agreements and views. The monitoring of performance is very important because of it helpful in assembling the work in proper way, and it provide support to the employees for achieving the goals and objective of the nursing home. 3.2 Individual's training and development needs Every organisation provide training to develop the performance of an individual in order to attaining more profit and success. Performance appraisal is mostly used in health and social care industries, because it is helpful in evaluate the actual performance of the employees. This methods is useful in identify the weaknesses of the worker and which need training and development of individual. The St-Margaret's nursing home recruit people on the basis of their skills and ability. They provide some training session for new and existing worker who need to be trained in the particular work. The health and social care industries are mainly experienced people because in this sector the organisation is not able to take any risk with the patients. Non achievement and failure of team or individual's goal and target also need the proper training session. The manager of organisation is evaluate the performance of the employees at regular basis. 3.3 Strategies for promoting development of an individual. There are different strategies which can be used by manager of St. Margaret’s Nursing home in order to increase the performance of employees. To monitor the employee performance, it can be done in different ways. For this, the manager has to identify the current level of employees that 4

how much time they are consuming to do particular task. After that, they have to identify that how the improvements can be made. For the improvement of their performance, the manager has make a sturdy relationship with them. So that they will give positive feedback. While taking consistently feedback from them, the employees will also learn their roles and responsibilities. Hence, it will improve their performance and increase their skills in order to perform in appropriate manner. However, proper training should also be provided at the time of on-the-job and off-the-job of training. Training should be given according to the needs of staff in order to deliver high quality of services to patients. TASK 4 4.1 Leadership styles applied in the HSC sectors Leader is the person who is head of the team and having authority to command and direct others at the work place. Some leadership styles are followed by the health and social care which are as under: Autocratic style: In this the leader is taking all the decision on the basis of their own perception, they didn't take any suggestion form the subordinates or co-workers. The total power is in managers hand. Democratic style: In this the leader is interact with their subordinates at regular basis, and they take decision on the basis of all team members suggestion. The subordinates are taking part in decision making process. Laissez-faire style: In this the leader is taking part in daily work with the subordinates. The St-Margaret's nursing home as an health and social care sector use democratic leadership style, because the organisation need internal and external advice for taking an effective decision. Subordinates are very much close to the firm so they know every condition and provide best and satisfactory suggestion. 4.2 Managing working relationship In the health and social care sector it is very much difficult to identify the proper way of work as a team. The ability or skill of every individual is different, they work according their own type. This is the big issue for the organisation, for overcoming the problem the firm need to develop an effective team or group. The good relationship is very much important to attaining 5
the targeted goals and objective of the individual or team. There are different type of process can be helpful in manage a better relationship with the member of team, co-workers, managers. Always be polite in the organisation with manager or subordinates. Use thank you and please rapidly. Need to know the rules and protocols of the employees. 4.3 Own development influenced by the management approach I am a workaholic person and I like to do work in the criteria of my interest. Some time I need to do the work form other areas and I was getting stressed and tensed when the load of work is high. My own development has been influenced by some leadership approaches. I m mainly focused towards my strength and weakness and I am mostly encouraged by this. CONCLUSION The above report is based on managing of human resource in health and social care sector. The St-Margaret's nursing home is try to recruit well skilled and educated people for providing better satisfaction and service to their patients. They conduct some training session for developing ability for an individual for better and high performance. They use democratic leadership style for making an effective decision in order to attain organisational goal and objectives. They create some groups and include employees who are having same skill and knowledge. They try to maintain better relationship with their team or group member for better and effective performance. 6
