INTRODUCTION
 Employee is the essential part of every organization. Organization should manage
their employees so that they remain on the right path towards achievement of
desired target.
 Managing people at organization concentrates on the teaching and supervising the
people to earn a competitive advantage

CASE STUDY
 Marks and Spencer is a British retailer which deals in clothing, home and luxury
product. The firm started by the two friend Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer.
 The company organizes a proper induction and training session so that
employees know more and more about organization and not take pressure of their
work.

INDUCTION AND TRAINING PROGRAM
 An induction programme is the process used in the businesses to welcome new
employees to the company and prepare them for a new role and responsibility.
 Whereas training is the act of increasing the knowledge and skills of an employee
to perform a particular task.

know the right way of doing the job in the business in place of doing work
 Save time and money : Induction is a document which is presented to every new

 Organization try to give all the information on the day one.
 Training authorities jump to the difficult part without
giving a clear sense of direction and time.
 Due to which employee lose the interest in the future
training material which later on affect the performance of
the respective organization.

UNDERSTANDING OF RANGE OF MANAGEMENT AND
LEADERSHIP STYLE
Autocratic leadership Democratic leadership
It is a leadership style under which leader have
the control over the staff and does not include
in sharing their suggestion.
It is also known as participative leadership
style as the name say that leader take
suggestion from their team members before
getting a final decision.
This style lead to high turnover and
absenteeism in the organisation.
This style leads to higher level of satisfaction
in the employee related to their environment
and the company get higher creativity.
Is is suitable in the environment where fair
routine or required limited skill.
It is not beneficial in the workplace where there
is a need of quick decision-making.

DIFFERENT LEADERSHIP STYLE
Situational leadership Contingency leadership
It is theory under which leaders adopt different
styles on the basis of internal environment.
It is a style in which leader change the way of
leading in order to cope with sudden changes
of the society.
This theory is flexible to the leader giving the
opportunity to use the appropriate skills to
resolve a particular situation.
Contingency theory relies on the present
situation due to which leader make changes in
their working.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE INFLUENCE

ADVANTAGES OF FLAT ORGANIZATION
STRUCTURE
 Flat structure enhances its employees accountability in the company. For example, Marks
and Spencer employees become more responsible for their work than business culture is
become so appropriate that everyone can perform their work with full dedication and
passion.
 This organizational structure is helpful in enhance communication among the employees
and mangers. For instance, when company employees get connected with each other than
they are able to perform work effectively and achieve organization goal.

DISADVANTAGES OF FLAT ORGANIZATION
STRUCTURE
 The focus of Marks and Spencer company is on the flat organization structure
which hinder their growth. It is understood by the help of example : a president
rely on the specialist or manager for expanding the management levels. Due to
this business not able to achieve its desired growth and target

RECOMMENDATION
 Organisation can use democratic leadership style in their working so that
employees can provide more innovative and creative ideas in the development of
organisation.
 They can use other organisation structure with the flat organisation structure so
that business can achieve its growth.
 By adopting effective induction process the firm can enhance their productivity
and growth.

CONCLUSION
 From the above discussion it is concluded that organization can manage their
employees by giving them proper training and effective induction so that they get
informed about the correct way of performing the task.
 It also describe different leadership style which leader can adopt according to the
condition of their business.
