INTRODUCTION
The major targeted area for every business organisation is to achieve their goals and
objectives in respect of reaching at higher position at market place. Corporate social
responsibility refers as corporate conscience, corporate citizenship and responsible business or its
activities (Baiden and Price, 2011). CSR can be described as a kind of corporate self-regulation
that involved in a business model. Brooklands hotel is a small business enterprises and starts
their business activities in Weybridge. In the present era corporate social responsibility plays a
vital role to gaining attention of large number of people because various people are very much
influenced and attracted towards the activities which helps in providing social and effective
services. This report contain the study about importance of implementing CSR activities within
an organisation to attain their sustainable aims and objectives. The aims and objectives of firm,
usage of Gantt chart and breakdown structure will also be discussed in effective manner (Putnam
and Myers, 2013). The different process of decision making which helps in providing support in
distinguishing actual result of project and give appropriate recommendation and suggestions for
research work in order to creating effective changes that are required and necessary for well-
being of research work.

P1) Aim and objectives of research
The basic purpose of every business organisation is to provide high range of products and
services to their customers in order to attaining high range of profit and revenue at market place
(Chang, Walters and Wills, 2013). Mostly organisations are focused on achieving their goals and
objectives in terms of increasing their performance. Brooklands hotel is more concerned about
identifying actual demand and preferences of customers in order to providing most satisfactory
services to them and sustain them for long time (Doherty, Ashurst and Peppard, 2012). Aims and
objectives are some predetermined statements which are needs to be attained by firm to reaching
at higher position at market place. It is very tedious process for company to select various
elements which are related with CSR activities (Orlitzky, Siegel and Waldman, 2011). This
provide significant helps in adapting changes that are required for firm to attaining competitive
advantage at market place. In present scenario there are lots of competition at market place, so it

is necessary for company to implement required changes in order to providing high range of
competition to their competitors.

The fundamental work of every small as well as large business organisation is to create
some goals and objectives that are related with select aim, this provide help in attaining high
position at market place. With the help of these goals and objective, it is easy for firm to gaining
growth and success. In this present market scenario large number of organisations are focused on
implementing various effective CSR activities in their firm just for attracting customers towards
the products and services which are offered by firm to their potential buyers (Schneider and
Schmidpeter, 2012). There are so many internal as well negative factors are directly affected on
organisational overall performance and growth. Small business firms such as Brooklands hotel
establish their business activities through very least amount of capital and funding. Brooklands
hotel is focused on implementing effective goals and objectives for efficiently completion of
business activities through proper utilisation of human resources. It is well reputed 4 star hotel,
who provides high quality services to their customers who are willing to taking the advantage of
offered services of hotel. Brooklands having over 106 employees who are providing significant
services to their customers in most effective manner in order to satisfying the needs and wants of
people (Goss and Roberts, 2011). As a famous hotel industry Brooklands is focused on serving
the most valuable services for satisfying actual needs and wants of customer's. They concerned
on adopting effective tools and techniques of marketing in respect of providing services and
products with more innovative and unique features in it (Griffin and Pustay, 2012). Brooklands
Hotel adopt most appropriate strategies of marketing for the purpose of impressive utilisation of
resources for accomplishing basic objective of firm with the help of their employees and staff
members. CSR considered as the activities which are used by organisations to avail most
beneficial services and products to customers and people of society.
Aim: To implementing various CSR activities that are impactful for attaining sustainable goals
and objectives of firm. A case study on Brooklands Hotel.
Objectives:

 To identify the effectiveness of implementing CSR activities in Brooklands Hotel.

P2) Project management plan
Management planning refers as the process of identifying an organisation's goals and
objectives or generating realistic detailed action plan in respect of attaining selected
predetermined goals and objectives (Gido, Clements and Clements, 2014). The basic purpose of
implementing management plan is to provide an effective path to business for accomplishing
their goals and objectives. This is most essential process in every small as well large business
organisation for maintaining all business activities that are important for achieving goals and
objectives. The management plan involves various aspects, some are describes as under:

 Cost: This can be considered as fundamental need of any business organisation, it can be
measures as the piece of amount which is invested by organisation in their business
activities. The implementation of CSR activities are helpful in enhancing firm’s
performance and social well-being for society and public. Time: This plays most significant role in establishing all business activities in most
effective manner, so that work has to be done in given period of time (Jeston and Nelis,
2014). Brooklands Hotel is mainly focused on providing efficient and fast services as per
different requirements of customers in given period of time. Quality: As a services industry, this is very important for every business organisation in
order to maintain all business activities that are incurred in the process of attaining goals
and objectives. In today's scenario, mostly people are attracted towards high quality of
products and services, so it is essential for firm to make proper efforts for improving their
quality of goods that are offered to potential buyers. For managing quality company
needs to adopt most innovative and suitable tools for producing high quality goods for
satisfying needs and wants of customers. Risk: There are so many uncertain risks are arises in any business organisation, some are
related with change of costs, issue of costs and inaccessibility of crude materials with
respect to supply of goods and services (Rosemann and vom Brocke, 2015). Communication: It is most important aspect in firm because it helps in establishing an
effective channel to transact data and information form one source to another. It is the
responsibility of higher authority and managers to provide an effective communication in
each department for transferring essential data and information.
 Resources: In an organisation there are so many resources are available which are helpful
in effectively completion of firm’s goals and objectives. Human resources are most
essential assets of business through which organisation can implement various activities.
P3) Gantt chart and work breakdown structure for the timeframe of project activities
These two aspects plays most important role in every business organisations. Brooklands
hotel is mainly focused on managing its CSR activities with the help of dividing the whole work
into small groups through Gantt chart and work breakdown structure (Kerzner, 2013). These are
widely applied by firms to effectively performing activities that are related with project work.

It refers as a chart which helps in establishing all business activities in most appropriate
manner, it is a kind of tool which is used by business firms, so that it is easy for them to measure
various aspects of time, risk and cost that are needed in a project for effectively completion of
work in desired period of time. This is widely applied by firm because it helps in identifying the
beginning and finishing time of each task that are involved in whole project work. Brooklands
hotel used Gantt chart in order to providing most significant direction for performing all
functional activities in the most efficient manner (Saunders and Lewis, 2012). It can be described
in the form of time schedule that are related with project topics. Gantt chart is mainly focused on
creating effective time frame work in which it is required for firm to implement their all business
activities.

Work Break down structure: It is considered as a process of managing whole activities
of work in desired period of time, so that organisational objectives and goals can be achieved in
effective manner (Kowalkowski, Kindström and Brehmer, 2011). It is widely applied method for
dividing whole task in to small points, so that work has to be done in effective manner. For
attaining organisational goals and objective, this process is very much impactful for
accomplishing business activities in given period of time. A break down structure is designed to
breaking down the whole work into various components for performing organisational task in
most direction to attaining goals and objectives.

P4) Small scale research by applying various methods
In this present scenario large as well as small business organisations are focused on
adopting various effective tools and techniques in order to identifying the effectiveness of
implementing CSR activities in to service industry (Meredith and Mantel Jr, 2011). In order to
identifying the actual impact organisation needs to gather data and information through different
sources and techniques, in which qualitative and quantitative methods play essential role. Qualitative Methods: This is widely used method of gathering data and information for
carry out business activities in a right direction. In this method data has to be gathered

that are based on quality aspects. This helps in providing significant direction in order to
collecting data which are related with quality means.
 Quantitative Methods: This also an effective method of acquiring data and information
which are related with different means of quantity. This is mainly used by investigators
because it helps in identifying accurate output and result through applying various
graphs, charts and mathematical tools and techniques.
For carrying out the present project in a right direction, data has to be gathered by
fulfilling the questionnaire from 60 respondents, who are the customers of Brooklands Hotel and
taking benefits of offered services and products.
In order to carry out the research in an effective manner, it is required for company to
measure all gathered data and information in detailed manner so that their effectiveness can be
evaluated. It is necessary for firm to collect the most significant data and information because
this helps in providing proper assistance to management in performing activities in most
effective manner. Some essential methods are described as under: Research Design: It can be described as the blue print of research which helps in
providing proper assistance in order to completion of all project activities. The whole
activity of research is based on research design. An effective research design has to be
selected by research in order to identify the effectiveness of CSR activities in sustaining
organisational goals and objectives. There are so many designs are available such as
descriptive, experimental and exploratory design (Peppard and Ward, 2016). In this
present research descriptive design has to be taken because, it helps in providing
appropriate direction for carry out research activities in a right direction. Research philosophy: It is considered as a way through which relevant data and
information has to be gathered, analysed and measured. For this present research work,
interpretivism philosophy has to be used because it provides significant help in measuring
suitable data and information which gives a right direction to reach final results and
output (Smith, Gonin and Besharov, 2013). Data collection: This method is used by researcher in order to collecting data and
information through applying primary and secondary methods of data collection.
Questionnaire are helpful in gathering primary means of information through fulfilling
this from various respondents who are showing their interest in the particular topics. With

the help of books, journals, magazines and newspapers, secondary means of data has to
be gathered. These methods are very much essential for researcher to collecting data and
information related with CSR activities which are needs to be performed by firm for
gaining attention of large number of customers. Data Analysis: In the present research project data analysis has to be done through
applying the process of thematic analysis (Polonsky and Waller, 2014). In this various
themes are created which are based on various aspects of questionnaire, this themes are
helpful in providing proper assistance to the whole research work.
 Limitation: So many issues and conflicts are faced by researcher at the time of carry out
any kind of project activities in effective manner. Time and cost are the major factors
which are faced by researcher at the time of conducting research work. For resolving this
issue an effective action and time management plan has to be evaluated.

Findings: As per the above mentioned graph it has been concluded that 52 out of 60
respondents are agree that Brooklands Hotel effectively implement CSR activities in their firm
and remaining 7 people are disagree with the same statement. Every services industry is focused
on implementing CSR activities because these are very much effective in gaining the attention of
large number of customers.

Findings: As per the above discussion, it has been concluded that Brooklands hotel
perform so many practical practises which are essential for performing all business functions.
According to 25 respondents hotel in mainly focused on managing CSR conference, 14 people
said that they are spending large amount of capital and remaining people are go with managed
time frame work. These practises are very much essential for reaching at higher position at
market place.

Findings: As per the above discussion it has been evaluated that Brooklands hotel
perform various CSR activities in their firm just for gaining attention of large number of
customers towards the offered services of firm. 8 out of 60 people are said that at least once in a
year it is required for company to perform CSR activities, 40 people are said that in every month
hotel industry perform various CSR activities and 12 people said that it needs to be performed
once in a weak.

Findings: As per the above it has been identified that there are so many advantages of
implementing CSR activities at work place. According to 18 people CSR activities are helpful in
increasing customer’s base, 10 people are said that it helps in developing brand image of firm, 20
people said that it helps in enhancing the branding of firm and according to 10 people it helps in
influencing reputation of company at market place.

Findings: As per above diagram it is been concluded that 36% people are agreed on
business organization have to provide healthy and safe working environment to people so as to
fulfil its all corporate social responsibilities. Apart from this, 14% respondents supports that
company have to focuses on women empowerment whereas 10% thinks to Brooklands hotels
need to give importance to child labour.

Findings: As per the above report, it has been evaluated that CSR activities are helpful in
achieving competitive advantage at market place. 48 people out of 60 are strongly agree with the
above mentioned statement, 8 people are not give any response and 4 people are strongly
disagree with the same statement.
P6. Recommendations for implementing CSR activities
The above research describes about ways in which CSR activities assisted Brooklands
hotels in attaining goals as well as objectives in a set period of time. It aids company in
achieving higher market share and establish a positive image in the minds of end users. There are
different types of programs which are being developed by managers working in the hospitality
firm. They need to address real problems that exist in society. Basically, the concept of CSR is
based on dual growth. In this criteria, an organisation focuses on social issues that are hampering
the life of common man and ensure that they are solved. This assist company in registering its
presence in market and also gaining more customers. This is the reason; programs designed to
support surrounding communities have to be based on problem. There are certain
recommendations that will allow organisation in attaining sustainable targets while addressing
major issues that exist in surroundings. They are as follows:

 The company has to make itself more environmental friendly by using various methods
of decomposition and recycling. It has to run new campaigns to clean dirty areas of city
which will build a positive image in market.
 The managers can use various ways to sort issues out. The best mode is to assist a NGO
or a NPO which is working in similar filed with resources so that they can solve problems
that exist.

P7. Reflective report
This research work has been a wonderful learning experience as it allowed be to
understand the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility. This activity conducted by companies
in market assist in registering dual growth (where organisation as well as society grows
together). The CSR activities will be conducted by Brooklands Hotel will assist it in developing
relationship with people. There were many methods which I used in conducting research, such as
project management plan was made which stated about what duration each activity will take.
Different tool were used to analyse data and interpret in understandable form. There were certain
limitations too which hindered me in getting information that would have made this research
work more qualitative. Also, there was limited time allotted to complete this project which
somewhere hindered more data. But the use of thematic analysis and graphs assisted in
presenting different findings in a very interesting manner. Overall, it can be said that this
research work enriched my knowledge and allowed me to grow in my study field.
CONCLUSION
At the end of this research work, it can be said that an organisation requires further
information to ensure that its strategies and plans are as per requirement. Brooklands hotel
perform various CSR activities in their firm just for gaining attention of customer, various
respondents are agree with it, that CSR activities are helpful in generating profitable situation for
company. Above mentioned report describes that these kind of activities are provide support in
achieving organisational goals and objectives. Brooklands is manly focused on safety and
security of customers through providing more beneficial services to them. This hotel perform
CSR activities at regular basis because these are essential for attaining competitive advantage at
market place.
