Type 1 diabetes: It results when the pancreas fail to produce enough insulin
because of the loss of beta cells.
Type 2 diabetes: It is characterised by insulin resistance, in which the cells fail to
respond to the insulin.

Type 2 diabetes: It is generally due to lifestyle factors and genetics. The
lifestyle factors that contribute to the development of type 2 diabetes includes-
obesity, poor diet, lack of physical activity and stress.
