addressing the citizens’ health care needs in the coming decades. It also includes the strategic
plan addressing the issues pertaining to growth of network, resource management and
satisfaction of the patients. The comparison between the health care organization and the
Singapore Airline is provided in the write up. The chosen healthcare organization is Banner
Healthcare which is a non-profit organization located in the United States. It is one of the
leading healthcare organizations and one of the most reputed and successful employers in the
industrial setup of Arizona. The organization is inclined towards \making difference in the
life of the population by the support of excellent health care services. The organization has
commenced its journey with the aim of revolutionising the healthcare provisions and services
and the image of the healthcare as a whole. It has expanded its business in Alaska, Colorado
and Nebraska. It has its headquarters in Phoenix in Arizona. It serves huge base of patients
and recruits and retains best suited talents (bannerhealth, 2018).

The mission of Banner Healthcare is to provide excellent healthcare services to the patients
by revolutionising the traditional services and adding diversity to the services. It is also
concentrating in expanding its presence in different states of the US. The expanded presence
indicates its success in fulfilling the needs and demands of the citizens. Along with other
changes the healthcare services are also encountering changes in the 21st century. The
technological aspects and the Information Technology and Communication have brought in
noticeable changes in the service delivery and competence of the healthcare organizations.
Banner Healthcare has been able to come up with effective emergency and outpatient

services where the serious and critical patients and the ones with normal health issues could
be taken well care of. The medical resources in the modern time are needed to be highly
improvised and advanced. The technology has shown the path where the medical services and
treatments could be made more modernised and of better quality. Banner Healthcare has
incorporated the technology based resources to make the services more effective. The
readiness of the healthcare organization also depends largely on its ability to have sufficient
resources available in the organization. Banner healthcare has the capacity to come up with
the resources to meet the future demands and needs of the patients with its abilities of
resource mobility. The network has to be full with adequate resources so that the future
demands could be met (Monegain, 2015). The healthcare organization is the second largest
employers and it is expected that in future to cater the diverse requirements of the patients it
will ensure best resources. The current magnificent base of talented and well trained human
resources of the organization would be able to cope up with the changing patterns of the
demands and needs of the patients and the community it serves as a whole. The organization
has made certain important changes in its supply chain so that the operational cost could be
reduced and main focus could be given on the important areas to strengthen the delivery of
the healthcare services (Letourneau, 2012).
The strategic plan of the organization includes the growth in its network, effective nurse
staffing, excellent resource management and capabilities of satisfying the demands of the
patients. In the current status Banner Healthcare operates in seven different states of the
United States of America. There are many states in the US and it is impossible to expand in
all of them so it would be feasible for the organization to enter into partnership with some of
the healthcare organization in different states and to render the services to the people. Nurse
staffing is one of the major areas of strategic growth of the organization. Banner Healthcare is
the second largest employer in the US and it will ensure recruiting of efficient nurses in the

future. In every healthcare organization the role played by the nurses is very crucial and
hence, this organization will ensure that future staffing policies will consider the recruitment
of effective base of nurses and to develop a competent team with the support of training. Best
nursing institutions will be considered for the on-campus recruitment of fresher graduates and
also experienced nurses (Wotrld Health Organization, 2009). Banner has ensured that it has
best policies and procedures of nurse staffing (bannerhealth, 2018).
Patient satisfaction is the prime important aspect for any healthcare organization. Banner
healthcare has earned its reputation by providing the services which have met the demands
and needs of the patients and have satisfied them. Hence, it will continue with its efficiency
and will bring in improvements if needed to ensure the patients are satisfied. It will always be
responsive towards the delivery of reliable healthcare services. Resource management is
another important step towards success. The human resources are trained and provided with
proper facilities and facilitation of education to make them competent. The technological
resources are well implemented by the organization and it is expected that it will take care
these aspects in future also. The operational cost will also be controlled and managed which
has been done by the organization so far (Banner Health Care, 2013).
The case study of Singapore Airline has portrayed some of the areas where the organization
is quite effective and the areas where ineffective approaches have been observed. The
organization has failed in satisfying its customers with its new innovative and distinctive
changes like the slot machine inclusion on transatlantic flights. The organization has been
found to be non-responsive to the changes which are indispensible. There have been
situations where the customers have filed complaints being dissatisfied. It has also narrowed
the applicant’s pool which has kept the organization away from the well-qualified and
experienced candidates who could create diversity to serve the diverse needs of the
customers. There are many areas where this organization needs to be careful and bring in

changes so as to handle the needs of the customers in the next decades. On the other hand
Banner Healthcare has skilfully considered and tackled the changes and came up with
effective readiness.

In the conclusion it could be said that Banner Healthcare has been more proactive and
efficient in identifying the needs of the patients and the changes in the market and industrial
setup with the changes in the demands and needs of the patients. The organization has the
competencies to cater the future needs and assure the satisfaction of the patients. It has been
highly responsive to the expansion of its network and hence it has taken the proactive
measures. It has ensured that the nurse staffing is effective and it is going to be more
matching and best suited for excellent service delivery in the next decades.
