INTRODUCTION
Operation management is a process in which it is concerned for planning, coordinate,
scheming in the production of goods and services. It is a approach that converts the raw materials
into finished goods. The organisation that haver taken in the report is XYZ company which is
launching 58 inches T.V. XYZ company is a electric appliances company that was established in
the year in 1911 by Earl Richardson (Binder, 2016). Its H.Q is in Cambridge, U.K. In the report
company need to evaluate theories such as six sigma and give some lean principles. It will also
prepare and analyse the effectiveness of the continuous improvement plan by using certain
principles of the operation management. The company design a proper product life cycle and
made some concepts and models in the PLC that differentiate between large and small scale
projects.
TASK 1
P1 Conduct the critique of the implementation of operation management principles within the
organization context
Operation management is a process which designs, implement and coordinate all the
necessary inputs in the organization. XYZ company is launching a 58 inches T.V that satisfy the
given criteria in the organisation
Six sigma- It is a process that make a continuous improvement plan in the organisation.
XYZ company uses the six sigma to determine the defects in the 58 inches T.V. It helps to
determine the manufacturing and transactional process of the XYZ company T.V. This will
explain the five phases that inherit some problems in the organisation which are as follows-
Define- It is a process that define the various structure in the organisation that help to
find out the various defects in the products. XYZ company T.V launch 58 inches T.V that
regulate to define leadership styles which regulate some programmes and methods. XYZ
company can define various techniques which initialise the programmes and methods for
attaining the objectives in the market.
Measure- The programmes that had been implemented in the phase to measure all the
problems of the people. XYZ company T.V launched 58 inches T.V that help to measure certain
objectives which the people want in their services (Galloway and et.al , 2012). They want that
the structure of the T.V is good so that people can measures certain policies and procedures. The

organization can measure certain circumstances which used to identify which products they want
to satisfy the need of them.
Analyse- When XYZ company launch 58 inches T.V, it know the features of the T.V that
people wants good features in the T.V. This will analyse different data problems that analyse
certain circumstances in the organisation. The XYZ company satisfied all needs and wants of the
customers. The organization can analyse different problems or techniques of the consumers
which have the transparency to buy an XYZ company T.V
Improve- XYZ company launch the 58 inches T.V that improve the services of the
organisation. This will analyse certain differences that help to determine the needs of the
customers (Jacobs and Lummus, 2014). Improvement is necessary because the organisation can
launch its new products in the competitive market so the profit is to be maximised. If XYZ
company launches its 58 inches T.V then it is necessary for the organization to improve all the
strategies that they have implemented in the organization.
Critique: In this regard, Six Sigma is found to be quite ineffective with respect to some
areas as these principles are very rigid and can not be modified as per the requirements and
functioning of firm. This may significantly lead to reduction in existing level of performance of
this project.
Lean principles-
It is a process that understand the customers values and satisfaction which enhances
their needs and benefits in the organisation. When XYZ company launch 58 inches T.V the main
purpose of the lean principle is to provide good values which create the satisfaction within the
employees. This will increase the demand of the employees who father certain principles to
satisfy the needs of the customers. While launching XYZ company its 58 inches T.V in the
market the employees need to check which programmes that all the leaders have to made that can
globalised its methods and programmes.
Define the value- This will determine some values that satisfy the needs and objectives in
the organization. XYZ company launches T.V of 58 inches, it make certain principles that
provide some customer satisfaction by making good features of the product like quality, colour,
brand and effectiveness. If all these are there in the XYZ company T.V then it define some
values in the minds of the customers. After doing the six sigma XYZ company can defines
various values in which its depends upon the quality, size and dependency in the organization.

Map the value system- Employees map different values of the customers that define
some objectives and inherit all the characteristics in the organisation. While launching new XYZ
company 58 inches T.V all employees have to design a value plan which gather needs and
maxims profit for the organisation. The leaders can map different values in which the employees
have to gain the transparency in the XYZ company while launches its 58 inches T.V in the
market.
Create flow-When XYZ company launches its new T.V of 58 inches, it creates the good
flow that maxims the satisfaction of all the employees in the organisation. This will be done by
providing best mobility and enhances the values of all stakeholders in the organisation. If the
product is good then the company itself maxims more profits that regulate some effectiveness of
the firm. The managers have to create the flow of activities ans strategies which the XYZ
company launches its 58 inches T.V in the market.
Establish pull- If the XYZ company launch new T.V in the competitive market then it
plans some , customers can make the choice to buy this product in order to satisfy their needs in
the organisation (Harrison and Lock, 2017). When the prices of the T.V is high it satisfy all
mobility of the customers and more consumers would come and buy its product.
Critique: Lean principles can be said to be ineffective for XYZ as suppliers as well as
customers may observe the improvements that take place in the processes owing to the
implementation of this approach and may also make use of this methodology to bring about own
improvements. Thus, this may lead to inappropriateness in project execution.
Evaluation of operation management principles and their application for the XYZ company
Reality- XYZ company can implement the strategies in which it launch 58 inches T.V in
the world. It solves different problems by launching its product in the competitive market.
Organization-Whenever XYZ company launches its 58 inches T.V in the market, its
need to check which elements can they predict so that more consumers can come and buy this
product.
Fundamental- It is a process when the organization used different operations so that it
will launch a good product in the market. When XYZ company launch its 58 inches T.V in the
market they have to see which market is good for launching its product. An organisation can
