INTRODUCTION
Professional and personal development is referred to the tactics where an individual
formulates various targets, strategies and objectives so that appropriate learning and training
activities can be performed (Cooke, 2012). This project report is prepared for Holiday Inn that is
a America based and Britain owned hotel brand, established in 1952. This hotel is headquartered
in Denham, UK and successfully operates at around 1200 locations (Visser, Evering and Barrett,
2014). This assignment report is going to discuss about various approaches for self managed
learning along with the measures to improve continuous development of an individual. Skills and
competences to became an efficient employees will be discussed including development
opportunities for current and future needs. An appropriate plan will be developed and
implemented with the help of efficient processes.

1.1 Mention different approaches for self managed learning
Self managed learning is defined as the procedure in which individuals gain knowledge
by themselves so that they can develop their capabilities at both professional and personal level.
With the help of this learning, workers in Holiday Inn can enhance their knowledge and working
potential so that overall productivity of an organisation can improve. Different approaches
beneficial for self managed learning are stated below:
Seminars and conference: Events like conferences and seminars are the best way by
which an individual can increase their knowledge in a proper manner. Here, an individual
can listen the experience of influential people and the measures by which they resolve
their complexities and issues. This will help the employees in Holiday Inn in improving
their understanding and interacting skills (Dorociak and et. al., 2017).
Social networks: There exist different measures that will benefits a person in learning
new concepts and ideas, one of them is social media. Social media have multiple
platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc. where different people share their
opinions, ideas and preferences. Workers in Holiday Inn can spend some time on social
media to observe the experience and perception of different people. By this, they will be
