INTRODUCTIONProfessional development means to gain growth by developing new skills and experience.Personal development plays an important role to achieve professional growth.(Hildebrand,2018.) Professional development helps in developing future profile which expand careeropportunities. To manage personal and professional development in one's individual lives peoplehave to set clear goal that they want to achieve. Personal and professional development means toachieve own opportunities. In this present report XYZ beauty organisation is taken to providedetailed study of personal and professional development in organisation.In this present report,three tasks are given under which three to four questions are to be answered. In task one, twoapproaches of self management learning and ways to encourage life long learning andopportunities to develop self management in XYZ beauty organisation is going to be discussed.Under task two audit skills and present skill level, personal development plan and activities toimprove that plan is going to be discussed. In task three updated audit skill and updated personaldevelopment plan and explanation of personal and professional development success is going tobe discussed with explanation of problems which are faced during professional like is to bediscussed. Critical analysis of personal and professional development success is also going to bediscussed in this report.Task 1.Approaches of self managed learning-Self management learning helps to develop skills by which individual assessed their work whichis done in an organisation. Self managed learning focuses on individual development.In self managed learning an individual who want to improve his skill and knowledge,takes the imitative for learn. Self managed learning focuses on individual development. Wholeprocess of learning programme is arranged by individual for himself. A person can takeassistance and help from others like coaching, training and develop programme, online SDLmodules. Individual can learn without taking help from other like learning by observation,experiences, self evaluation etc. Self managed learning process include various stages like firstindividual try to know what is his need of learning than make this need as its learning goal.Individual also identifies the resources which is required for learning and implement the correctSML programme as per individual's need.(Phadermrod, Crowder, and Wills, 2016)1
Learning contract approach-In learning contract approach an individual review his experience as well as identifiescurrent position by SWOT. From weakness and threat an individual set his learning goal.Learning contract give full autonomy to individual to choose the right set of actions which hefinds more suitable to him. SWOT Individual look upon the resources to enhance his learning.Individual also set standard of outcome which is to be expected after learning process. Thisapproach give chance to a person about know himself better, make individual independent forimprovement, stimulate self motivation. Learning contract approach also have some limitation asbasic knowledge level of individual, biased SWOT, identify wrong learning resources, lack ofaccessment power for how much modification can be acceptable. XYZ beauty organisationprovide feedback to each employee so that they can make correct SWOT. XVZ also provideassistance to choose correct method of learning like training, online modules, improvement withpersonal observation etc. (Welp, and et.al ., 2018.) organisation also review for the correction.Employees of XYZ communicate learning need with organisation also ask to give suggestionfrom their supervisor.Action learning set approach-In action learning approach a team consist of 8 to 7 people come together predically andan individual share its problem with team member. Learning set provide a safe environment toindividual and group to make efforts to solve its problem and issue they are facing at individuallevel or at organisational level. This is almost like contract learning but it has one additionalfeature like its been expected from individual that he share his experience with others so thatteam member get help each other by providing feedbacks, suggestions, support. Team membersmostly related with having same job role like team of XYZ beauty manufacture unit, financedepartment and marketing department. Action learning set have many advantages like individualget different method of solve the problem, experience is being shared, relationship building, savetime in problem solving, provide awareness of different problems. The biggest disadvantage ofset approach is big size of team which leads to confusion and poor communication, lowattendance of team members, member start gossips on social issues in second meeting as theybuild personal relation, low acceptance of feedback form junior staff members get to know alldifference between staff, bulling and harassment practices by seniors.
