INTRODUCTION:
Social and health care is related to providing effective care to people by improving
quality of health services. It is important to respect person value and principles while providing
care. A social worker should perform his roles and duties effectively at work place (Rowe,
2017). It will help in enhancing his skills and abilities. Moreover, care practitioner should
provide effective care to each individual according to his beliefs and values. This will help in
preventing any discrimination while providing health services. This report will describe how
personal values and principles are followed and what influence it can have in health care. Also,
what change in personal values can have a impact on social work is studied.
TASK 1
1.1 Compare personal values and principles with the principles of support for working in health
and social care
There are various values and principles that are followed by social worker while
providing care. It is important for social worker to understand how support is given to patients.
For this care centres can develop some principles that will ensure care is given accordingly. It is
because there are many people who are having different ethics, values, etc. and social care is
based on these ethics and values (Hopkinson, 2014). Personal values include honesty,
behaviour, religion, etc.
Principles developed will help in providing effective care. It will create a framework that
will include communication, teamwork, ethics, etc. These all will allow care worker to treat each
individual equally and respectfully. Along with this, by following these principles' organisation
will be able to achieve their goals and objectives effectively. Moreover, principles and personal
values will describe that support is given to people fairly ad in ethical way.
1.2 Assess how personal culture and experience influence own role in supporting users of
services and others in health and social care settings
Culture reflects the background of people. It shows how they are treated. It includes
values and beliefs of people (Christie, Cree and Tett, 2017). These helps in providing equal

rights to each individual at workplace. Moreover, it protects people from activities like abusing,
misbehaving, etc. Along with this experience shows that how people are given respect while
providing services. Also, it is essential for care practitioner to follow cultural aspect while
providing care. This is because it becomes easy for them to protect clients from any harms. Also,
it helps in gaining trust of people. A care practitioner having cultural experience will not involve
any kind of discrimination activity at workplace. Furthermore, it will ensure that people are
given effective care at workplace.
The role of care practitioner in health and social care will be treating everyone equally. It
will help in enhancing quality of service. Also, by this they will ensure that principles are been
followed effectively (Vetere and Stratton, 2016). This will encourage others to follow those
principles. Thus, it will influence overall workers in health care.
1.3 Discuss how new developments and changes to personal values can impact on work in health
and social care
By implementing changes in personal values effective care can be given. It will have a
great impact on person behaviour and his work. It will help in gaining more skills about different
cultural values and beliefs. With this care be given accordingly. There are many changes that
occurs at workplace. So an individual should adopt those changes that will help in working in
different way. This will lead to improvement in quality of service. Moreover, it will help in
better understanding of people and minimising risk of any uncertainty at workplace.
Changes will help in ensuring no discrimination among people. Furthermore, there are
several laws and regulations that are followed in organisation. It creates a great impact in health
care. For example- data protection act, equality at work act, etc. (Ansari, Baxendale and
Woodier, 2017). These acts ensure that individual is given proper care services. They are treated
equally and with respect. By following these aspects it creates a better working environment.
Besides this, it secures confidential data of people.

Visual learning style - By taking feedback from other I analysed that I was having visual
learning style. In this I used graphs, charts and maps to learn. Besides this, it also includes three
types of learning styles that are VAK model.
Auditory learning style – in this learner learn by hearing and speaking. They also use their
listening and repeating skills to sort through the information that is sent to them.

Kinesthetic learning style- it is a British learning style in which learning takes place by the
students carrying out physical activities, rather than listening to a lecture or watching
demonstrations.

For making improvements in my skills I need a personal development plan. It will me to
enhance my skills and knowledge in health and social care sector. The plan will include all

required and are essential involves appropriate leadership skills and communication skills. It is
because for achieving higher goals and targets, it is very important to have efficient amount of
leadership skills because an efficient leader is capable of dealing with any sort of conflict or
issue. Also, a good leader knows how to manage the employees in the health and social care
along with the operations that are being performed in the centre. Also, another important factor
was to achieve all the targets within specified deadline because it will help in maintaining the
balance between all the processes. Therefore, it is very important to monitor the progress of the
plan so that all the operations and procedures in the health and social care can be able to achieve
all the targets and goals at a much faster rate.
2.4 Evaluating the effectiveness of the development plan
The development plan should be effective enough because this is obvious that the
competition is increasing day by day and every single firm in the health and social care tries to
make involvement of some factors that can help them to achieve the competitiveness. Thus, it is
very important that the development plan should be effective enough so that it can be able
enough to achieve all the targets and objectives at a much faster rate. Whether it is about the
leadership skills or the communication, completing all the objectives within a given deadline is
one of the important aspects because this helps in maintaining a balance between all the
operations and services in the health and social care.

3.1 Nature of different professional relationships in health and social care
Professional relationship is considered as a process in which people make some sort of
relationship with each other. It is not necessary that the process is intentional but may happen
because of a few interactions. It may be with the employees, family members, friends, guardians
etc. for maintaining an efficient rate of relationship with any of them, there are some factors that
needs to be ensured such as support, respect. It is because this helps in maintaining a smooth

processing of the operations and services (Manners, 2017). This is obvious that when a person
gets admitted in the health care, the situation for them seem to be different and it happens
because the environment externally is completely different from the internal one. So, any sort of
mis behaviour or dis respect with them can actually hurt their sentiments to a huge extent and
thus, can also throw a negative impact on their mental stability. Whether it is on the basis of
colour, race, gender etc., any sort of discrimination is not allowed at all in the health and social
care because it can hurt the sentiments of the person to a huge extent. There should be an
effective interaction rate between the service providers because any sort of personal mis
understandings can lead to complexities further and also, can make feel the patient troubled.
Also, then there is a sort of relationship between the nurse and the family members. It is
obvious that when a person is admitted, the friends, family members , guardians etc. are worried
about the status of the health of the patient. So, in such cases, the nurse make sure to provide
proper support to the family members to a huge extent because in some situations, the patient is
not allowed to meet any of the person, family, friends etc., so in such cases, the nurse can only
act as the mediator that helps in providing all the information of the patient to the family
members. Then, there are multidisciplinary teams as well. Their role is to provide a
comprehensive output of the all the factors and the ones that are essential to be involved. There
should be a sort of efficient coordination between these teams and the other nursing staff. Other
important roles that can be considered within this involves general practitioner, therapists etc. it
also further helps in making much enhancements and improvements in the understanding of the
services and operations etc. therefore, it is very essential to maintain a balance between all these
relations because it helps in managing all the operations, factors and services in a very effective
and appropriate manner so that a proper focus can be kept on the health of the patient, thus also
help in making the environment more happier and healthier.
3.2 Evaluating personal effectiveness in supporting and promoting the right of individual
Personal effectiveness is considered as one of the major aspects for promoting the rights
of the people. First point that is to be considered is the safety and respect, so it is very to treat
everyone with respect because it acts as a very essential factor to manage the balance between

the operations and services. Reliability and trust are also considered because it is very important
to give an efficient amount of treatment to the patient because when an individual is being
admitted to the hospital, it is the responsibility of the health care and the nurses to ensure that a
proper care is being provided to the person and the rest of the needs and requirements are also
should be taken place (Manners, 2017). This is the responsibility of the health care. Also, there
are laws and policies that are been developed by the government. So, following all these laws
also plays an important role.
According to equality act 2010, it considers the fact that there should be no sort of
inequality or discrimination in the health care because when a person is admitted in the hospital
or health care, any sort of negative behaviour with them can actually affect their mental stability
to a huge extent. So, it is very important to ensure that in any organisation, there should be no
sort of discrimination or racism in the firm. Also, as per the law, it also ensures the fact that
anyone who is found guilty in such kind of actions may have to pay a huge amount of penalty
and also, the punishment can lead to the imprisonment of the person as well. So, following all
these policies and providing an efficient and appropriate amount of care to the person is also
considered within the personal effectiveness which helps in supporting and promoting the rights
of people as well. This can further help in maintaining a sort of balance between the operations
and functions and also in maintaining a happier and healthier culture there. It will help the nurses
to stay focused on the operations very appropriately so that the patients can also be able to get a
proper amount of attention and can get treated as soon as possible.
3.3 Ways to resolve issues in professional relations
There are some times, some situation occurs when thee comes some sort of mis
understandings or confusions between the two. In that case, some ways can be included that can
actually help in resolving those issues, thus maintaining a healthier relationship so that the whole
environment can stay fit and healthy enough. One of the very basic and well known way can be
considered as sit and talk. If there are some confusions or mis understandings between the two,
then any of them can initiate the conversation again and tell the other one to give some amount
of time so that they can clarify the issue. This can be classified as one of the basic ways that can

actually help (Aveyard, 2014). Involving a more efficient leader can also help in resolving any
types of issues between the employees, staff etc. It is because there is a major need of an efficient
leader in the health and social care because an efficient leader is capable enough of competing
with any sort of trouble. So, this can also help in resolving the issues, whether it is regarding the
academics or the personal etc., the involvement of a perfect leader can help in managing all the
issues by providing an appropriate structure that can help in maintaining a sort o balance
between different operations and services.
Lack of interaction can also lead to the issues in professional relations because when there
will be no sort of interaction will be between the two, the third person can always take the
benefit of that and can create further mis understandings. So, there should be an efficient rate of
interaction between all the employees of the health care because it helps in maintaining the
environment in an efficient and appropriate manner. Also, it is obvious that when people are
stressed out, involving in some sort of interaction can help in providing a sort of relaxation to the
people. So, interaction is good. This also helps in providing relaxation to the people in the
health care, thus avoiding any sort of complexity or issue. Maintenance of all the factors is
equally important because if all the things will go in a structured manner, there will be very less
possibilities of complexities or issues. Therefore, in a health and social care, developing and
them implementing a proper structure is very essential because it further helps in managing a sort
of balance between all the processes and procedures. Therefore, involvement of all such factors
in an appropriate way is classified as one of the efficient and important tasks in the health and
social care that can help in resolving all the issues and complications in an efficient and
appropriate way.

Personal contributions may involve various factors which involves health management
system, local authorities, effective contribution team work etc. it is considered important because
it helps in maintaining an efficient balance in the process and operations of the health and social
care. The effectiveness of the same can be more widely discussed as under :

The importance of team work is that when there will be an appropriate amount and
quality of team work in the health and social care, the chances for making better decisions
increase (Burrow, Mairs and Keady, 2016). This will further help in making the whole process of
decision making better enough because by these means, the employees will also be able to
discuss and open up their own ideas and issues. Thus, it can conclude to a better decision that can
seem beneficial enough for taking better decisions for the operations of the health and social
care.
Measurable
Also, it is important that the decisions that are being taken are meaningful enough so that
it can contribute something good to the health and social care systems and processes. Also, it
should be motivating enough.
Achievable
The operations and processes, decisions taken should be attainable which means it is
better to have a decision making process but concluding some from it that can actually be
attained is meaningful. It also helps in making a proper balance (Redmond, 2017).
Relevant
Also, the decisions taken should be relevant enough so that it may not hurt the sentiments
of any patient admitted in the hospital because it can actually throw much negative impact on
their mental stability. So it is very important that it should be relevant enough to maintain peace
in the health and social care.
Time bound
It is important that the targets that have been set by the health and social care are being
achieved within the deadline only. It is because achieving all the goals within time helps in
managing all the processes and in making a well balance procedure as well.
4.2 Impact of limits on other’s work
Limits of own work helps in maintaining a sort of balance between different operations
because it is very important. There are enormous number of processes that take place in the

health and social care, whether it is about providing care to the patients, maintaining the
cleanliness etc. of their beddings etc. So, in such cases, limits of self work help in throwing a
positive impact on the others as well. There are various factors as well that needs to be ensured
while considering everything within limits. A well known example can be considered as
maintaining the safety of the patients by various means. It is because this is obvious that when a
person is get admitted to such an environment, providing them proper support and care is very
important (Baldwin, 2016). This can involve the implementation of the laws and policies such as
the equality act 2010 which states the fact that there should be no sort of discrimination with any
person in the health and social care. It is because when a person is admitted in such an
environment, any sort of racism or discrimination with them can actually prove fatal because it
can directly throw an impact on the mental stability of the person. Whether on the basis of race,
gender, caste etc., any sort of racism is not allowed in the health and social care. So, for his, it
has also been implemented by the law that anyone who is found guilty of this may have to pay a
huge rate of penalty. Therefore, it is important to consider all these factors in order to achieve a
higher rate of productivity and satisfied patients as well.
4.3 Analysing self evaluation in reducing barriers in effective teamwork
Own role and its maintenance is equally important in maintaining a balance and
effectiveness in the operations and processes of the health and social care. The factors that can
help in reducing the complexities and issues to effective team work may include a proper
understanding between every single employee, completing the set of objectives in a particular
deadline etc. also, if the management and authorities in the health and social care ensure to
organise some sessions in which the staff members can also get a chance to interact with each
other. Also, providing the am efficient rate of support in major decisions etc. is important. These
factors help in reducing the number of barriers in an effective team work. Also, maintaining a
better rate of interaction also plays a very important role in maintaining an appropriate rate of
tam work. It is because while working and assessing different patients, it is obvious that there are
different types of patients, so analysing each of them very patiently can help in minimising the
overall rate of the complexities and barriers in maintaining an effective teamwork.

4.4 Ways of improving personal contributions
There are various ways that can be included in order to make improvements in the
effectiveness of the team and some of the well known and common ways include the fact that
interaction plays a very important role so if other person is not initiating, one should try itself to
initiate a conversation. This will help in opening the other person as well, which will lead to an
effective processing of the team (Burrow, Mairs and Keady, 2016). Participating in every single
factor equally can also help in maintaining a balance between all the operations and process. This
will help in a collective effectiveness of the team. It is because an equal participating in the
factors help in increasing the competitiveness of the person. So, it can throw a huge influence on
the other members of the health and social care. Therefore, it can be considered that these factors
can actually be involved to make some sort of improvements and modifications in the overall
processes so that it can lead to a collective effectiveness of the whole team of the health and
social care.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the report that maintaining personal as well as professional
ethics and values is considered as one of the essential processes that helps to maintain a sort of
balance between different processes of the health and social care. A proper development plan can
be made in order to ensure that all the essential skills are involved in the health and social care
and the ones that are not included, can be involved as soon as possible in order to maintain the
balance. Maintaining the effectiveness of the plan is equally essential as well to maintain a
balance between all the processes that are apart of the health and social care. There are various
ways that can be involved in order to reduce the number of complexities and issues in the health
and social care, thus it further helps in maintaining a happier and healthier environment in the
