for a person to possess the managerial as well as leadership skills. Leadership refers lead or give
proper direction to team members for doing work and on the other way people are controlled in
a group on the basis of the established values and beliefs. The personal leadership skill is
described as the ability and power to describe the direction in which all the working will be
executed so that growth and success can be easily achieved in life with consistency and
effectiveness. (Neck and Manz, 2010). This report is based on ASDA organisation which is
supermarket retailer. It provides various products, mobile phone, financial services etc. This
report will discuss about the effect of organisational objectives cultures and also value on the
part of leadership styles and management perspective. Plan of personal management with clear
objectives to create management skills will also become part of this file.
TASK 1
Effect of organisational objectives, values and culture
Leadership effects on success of business firm in competitive environment. Leader guide
or leads employees so that they can perform in a better or effective manner. Leaders bring
various culture as well as values in a business firm which help firm in incorporating the needed
changes, this results in achieving objectives of company. The main objective of ASDA
Organisation is to achieve goals by offering better quality of goods with in a given period of
time. The other objective of ASDA firm is to consider each option to accomplish goals. In
addition to this, it is a responsibility of this firm to motivate its staff members to work towards
achieving objectives at minimum cost (Anderson and Anderson, 2010). Organisational objectives
are defined as devising the goals for long time period. They directly impact on role of
management and leadership. For achieving organisational goals, the main focus of leadership is
on minimising wastage, assuring about product recycling which results in reducing cost of
goods.
On the other hand, organisational culture also effects on role of leadership and
management. In an organisation, culture plays a necessary role in developing healthy
surrounding which supports a person and also staff to provide better services. In ASDA, adaptive
culture is helpful for leaders in accepting external changes with structure and it will also assess
