Introduction
In this present paper we will discuss the research proposal on the topic ‘learning and
development initiatives in the mid-sized organization in UAE’. The research is conducted in
Synovate Research Company which is a market research company which provides business
information and technology to the various companies. The company provides business
assessment report, call verification report and field assessment report.
Problem statement
In the required research proposal the working of human resource in bringing an organizational
change through learning and development initiatives in the mid-sized organization in UAE. The
aim of the study is to analyze the impact of learning and development initiatives within an
organization, namely, Synovate Research Company. The problem statement of the required
proposal is;
“What is the impact of learning and development initiatives on the organizational performance
Synovate Research Company in UAE?”
There is two variable which is identified by the research, namely, independent variable and
dependent variable. The independent variable is "role of learning and development initiatives"
and the dependent variable is "impact on the mid-sized organizational performance of UAE."

Research objective
Following are the objectives of the research study:
1. To determine the impacts of learning and development initiatives in the organization.
2. To determine the impact of learning and development on the employee’s performance.
3. To determine the significance of learning and development initiatives.
4. To determine the role of human resource management implementing the initiatives.
Literature review
According to the Nadler and Wiggs et al., 1986 the development is necessary for the company as
well as for the human resource of the company. The training and development aim to provide a
learning experience to the human resource in order to improve the individual capabilities within
the particular period of time (Carney et al., 2015). Robet et al., 1994 states that the learning is a
function which is used to explore the possibilities of others and integrate the performance of an
individual towards the organizational vision. Janice et al., (2004) explains in his study that the
principle objectives are contrasted with the learning and development initiatives for the
longitudinal sampling of 871 small and middle sized organizations in the manufacturing sector of
Australia and that have embarked upon various growth and development pathways in order to
determine the relationship between the organizational growth and development initiatives.
According to Branine et al., (2011) the Arab and Islamic countries face the same values and
management beliefs as similar to the management trend of western countries. The talent
management is not a new concept for the United States of Emirates as the education system of
the country is managed by the president in order to provide the high quality of education to the
students within the particular period of time (Behery et al., 2014). At the time of global financial

crisis, there were economic pressures on the countries due to which the companies are more
constraint for the training and development expenditures. Matias et al., (2004) explains in his
study problem and solution for determining the role of the nation in determining the training and
development practices. He summarizes the study with the argument and favor from the latest
evidence which is collected from the six European countries. It is concluded in his study that the
training and development initiatives must be coherent with diverse national institutions in order
to maximize the output of the company (Ganguli et al., 2016). According to the researchers
training and development initiatives plays an important role in order to provide a competitive
advantage to the company which helps to stand out among the competitors within the same

by examining the 57 entrepreneurs from the manufacturing, technology and service sectors. The

organization helps to achieve the competitive advantage by improving the skills and capabilities
of an individual which helps to achieve the goals and objectives of the company. The e-learning
initiatives in an organization enable to provide training and development through information
technology. The implementation of eLearning in an organization improves the efficiency and
productivity within the particular period of time. Janice et al., (2005) explains the various factors
which influence the training and development initiatives within the small and medium-sized
organizations in the manufacturing companies of Australia which embarked different growth
development pathways (RauthBhardwaj et al., 2014). The research is conducted on the business
longitudinal survey which is conducted by the Australian Bureau of statistics over the four
financial years (Paillé et al., 2014). The results show the organizational change which shows the
adoption of new technology in order to improve the quality of products and services which
enable to improve the goodwill of the company which enables to generate higher revenue within
the specific time framework. All the progressive ideas are comprised of the training and
development strategies in order to provide excellent training to the employees. Jie et al., (2005)
explained that the international training and development is one of the crucial activities of
international human resource which provide effective benefits to the company and that are
widely acknowledged by them. The significance of international training and development is
explained by the author and the author also states that the majority of multinational, national
enterprises do not pay attention to the training and development initiatives which directly
impacts on the overall organizational performance of the company (Ullah Khan et al., 2014). Jie
and Roger et al., (2006) explains in their study related to the international training and
development practices which are given by the employer in order to enhance the efficiencies to
manage the international development of the multinational, national enterprises. The issue is

identified that the company is not providing pre-arrival and pre-departure training for the
international management development (Eccles et al., 2014).
Haslinda et al., (2009) conduct the analysis in his study towards the investigation of organization
participation towards the training and development in accordance with the goals and objectives
of the company. Vijaya et al., (2010) explains in her study related to the attempt which is done
by the researcher in order to determine the effectiveness of major executive training program in
the leading global suppliers of technology among the seventy-four employees who had gone
through the training program and the results shows that the training program has four level
reaction which includes the change in the behavior of an individual, enhancement of knowledge
and skills, learning of an individual and improvement in the employee's performance.
Muhammad and Rashid et al., (2011) explains in his study that there are nine human resource
development areas, namely, employee development, motivation, learning, cost effectiveness,
career development, goal setting, managing people, training plan, and performance appraisal
which reveals the use of training need analysis and the study shows the important implications
for the human resource professionals. The multiple uses of training need analysis helps to
determine the particular area in which the training is required towards the achievement of
organizational success (Albino et al., 2015). Baiyin et al., 2009 explains that the training is one
of the most important functions of the human resource management. The research shows that
there is a relationship between the training and organizational culture
Variables
In the required research proposal, two variables are identified, namely, independent and dependent
variables in which the learning and development initiatives are independent variables and organizational

performance of Synovate Research Company are a dependent variable. The variables are selected on the
basis of its importance, for example, the learning and development initiatives cannot be modified whereas
the organizational performance is dependent upon the learning and development initiatives taken by the
company within the particular period of time.

Research methodology
1. Data collection procedure
The method of collecting data is used to gather and measure the information which is required
for the selected dependent and independent variable. The quantitative method of research is used
to conduct the study related to the effectiveness of learning and development initiatives, and the
method helps to collect the data in order to verify the hypothesis. The close-ended questions are
used with the deductive approach in order to test the hypothesis in a most efficient and effective
manner. The research is conducted by using the questionnaire survey, and the survey is
conducted in order to collect the maximum information. The explanatory research is conducted
in this research study. The primary research is conducted in a study on the 100 respondents.

2. Data analyzing tools
After the data collection which is done through qualitative method, then the data is analyzed
through using MS excel in which graphs are used to analyze the data, and it is collected through
a survey in order to identify the accurate results within the particular period of time. It is one of
the most important parts of the report in which the data is analyzed to determine the results of the
study. There are fifteen questions which are individually analyzed through using MS excel in
which separate graphs are used to interpret the information which is collected from the
respondents.
3. Sampling
The questionnaire survey is used to conduct the survey, and close-ended questions are used to
collect the answers to the required questions. The Likert scale is used to measure the answers
which are collected through questionnaire. The researcher will use 100 employees to conduct the
research which had gone through the training and development initiatives which are taken by the
company for the accuracy of the sample. The convenient sampling is done by using the non-
probabilistic method. The questionnaire contains 15 questions which are related to the training
and development initiatives taken by the company within the particular period of time.
The training and development initiatives play an important role towards the organizational
performance within the particular period of time. The training and development initiatives must
be taken by the company in order to improve the knowledge and understanding of an individual
which directly contributes towards the profitability of the company. The human resource is the
most critically important element which helps to provide a competitive advantage to the
company so the organization must take training and development initiatives in order to enhance

the knowledge of employees. The training and development initiatives influence the performance
of the employees which leads to the organizational success. The mid-sized organizations have a
lack of financial resources, so the efficient human resource helps to stand out among the
competitors within the same industry.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that the training and development initiatives play an important role towards
the enhancement of employee’s performance which leads to the organizational success. The
research is conducted through primary research method, and the data is collected through
qualitative research in order to collect the maximum information through close-ended questions.
The data is analyzed through MS excel in which the graphs is used to interpret the information in
order to determine the accurate results. The research sample is 100 respondents who have
experience through the training and development initiatives in order to get accurate results.
According to the previous study, it is shown that the training and development initiatives
influence the individual capabilities which help in achieving the mission and vision of the
company. The attempts are made in order to examine the impact of training on the employee's
performance which shows that the training and development initiatives help to perform in a most
efficient and effective manner. The study explains the procedural framework which includes the
cultural factors those impacts on the effectiveness of the training and development initiatives
through a selection of trainers, methods and contents and learners motivation. Olaniyan and
Lucas et al., 2008 explains in his study that the improvement in the productivity is directly
dependent on the efficient and effective training which is provided by the company. The training

The plagiarism is one of the complex issues which in the ethics which need to be resolved by the
company, universities, and colleges in order to protect the brand in the eyes of the customers.
There are three cases which are related to the plagiarism issue, and it is discussed in the paper.
The cases show that the plagiarism issue arises when the company and universities use the
original work which getting consent from the researcher. The first case is related to the
plagiarism issue investigation in the universities of Britain, and it shows that the plagiarism is
increased in the past ten years. The second case is related to the rampant plagiarism in the two
journals, and the third case is related to the detection of plagiarism in the University of Fort.

Introduction
In this present paper, we will discuss the three cases of the plagiarism which are described in the
UK news over the past ten years. All the three cases are analyzed and further concluded with the
ethical issues. The first case is related to the plagiarism issues in the universities of Britain
which is a case of academic misconduct. The second case is related to the plagiarism in the two
journals, and the third case is related to the allegation of plagiarism to the University of Fort.
Case: 1 plagiarism issues in the universities of Britain
In this case, there are various universities who caught the investigation into the cheating at the
various universities, and thousands of students are caught plagiarizing by giving bribery to the
lecturers as well as buying the articles from the internet. In this case, there are total eight four
universities who were caught in the case of plagiarism and the news shows that the issue of
plagiarism has been raised from the year 2005-06 to the year 2009-10 (University cheating
league table et al., 2017). It shows that in the England region the plagiarism has been increased
by double.
Evaluation of case
In this case, there are various universities which lie in the England region and their plagiarism
issue has been increased in the past ten years. The case shows that the universities are violating
the principle of ethical which directly impacts on the goodwill of the universities. There are
various companies which are included in the reports, namely, Kingston, Hull, Imperial,
Greenwich, Hertfordshire, and others. The plagiarism issue is increased in the universities which

also impacts on the learning and knowledge of students (Ehrich et al., 2015). The case shows the
league table in which issue of cheating and plagiarism is detected. It also shows that the bribe is
taken by the lecturers who are a violation of a law and the lecturers as well as universities should
be punished in order to improve the plagiarism issue as well as ethical issues of the universities.
Case: 2 plagiarism in the two journals
It is the case which is related to the rampant plagiarism in the two journals. The journals are
related to the scientific articles which are published elsewhere without informing the original
author of the journals. In the first journal, the publisher is known as Science Reuters that out the
pharmacologic listed papers from the PLAS journal without informing the original researcher of
the papers (Journals et al., 2017). Another publisher is insight knowledge who had published the
various part of the topic in the journal, namely, Insight Biological science which is also
published in the African journal of biochemistry research and PLOS ONE. The Mark Johnson
who is the assistant professor at Brown University states that their articles are research work is
published in Science Reuters (FUZILE et al., 2017). According to the reports, Science Reuters
Company has published the article without getting consent from the researchers. Further, the
editor chief of the company resigned after contacted with the scientists. It is unclear that the
company listed the article on the website of the company and support liaison at insight
knowledge and stated that the company had republished the article using the common creative
license. There are various editors who are reached out by the scientist in order to analyze the
case, and they found that no one is aware related to the plagiarism issue.

Evaluation of case
The journals are mainly related to the primary research which is published by the researchers
while the predatory journal is the evitable problem. It is unethical to use articles from other
source and republished of articles without getting consent from the publishers. There are various
ways which can be used by the company in order to republish the article rather than publishing
the original work. It is the case of republishing which needs to be resolved by the company by
eliminating the original work or getting the consent from the researchers in order to resolve the
plagiarism issue.
Case: 3 Allegation of plagiarism to the University of Fort.
In this case, the University of Fort is an allegation of Plagiarism and the political science
department at the university has raised the question regarding the academic integrity of the
school. It is also shown in the reports that three students from the political science postgraduate
background have submitted their dissertation which heavily plagiarism. According to the Ndayi,
it is reported that the work is totally copied and paste which clearly shows that the work is work
done by the students is not original. It is shown in the reports that when Ndayi claim the students
regarding the plagiarism in their work, then the students said that the plagiarism is common in
their school. After that Ndayi has discussed the issue with the supervisor and faculty of
management has recommended terminating Ndayi. Ndayi is no longer a head of the department,
and the further issue shows the actions unclear actions which are taken by the universities in
order to eliminate the issue of plagiarism.

Evaluation of case
It is the case of plagiarism at the university level which impacts on the carrier, chance of
employment an academic career of the students. Students who had completed their degree from
the university that also face the problem and required to revise the degree. The universities have
invested a huge amount on managing the plagiarism issue in order to protect the brand image in
the eyes of the customers. The universities must aggressively work on the issue of academic
integrity in order to protect the reputation of the university. The reputation of the universities
plays the main role in the career of the students as well as it is important for universities in
attracting a large number of students for pursuing their studies from the respective
college(Sonfield et al., 2014). On the other hand, there are various students who had completed
their work correctly and fairly, so they don't deserve for the degree devaluation. However, the
plagiarism issue will be suffered by the universities as well as the students, and it is the major
issue which needs to be resolved by the company through taking critical measures in order to
publish the work plagiarism free.
Conclusion
The ethics play an important role in developing the boundaries in the research and publishings.
The plagiarism is one the most complex ethical issue which needs to be considered by the
researchers, scientists, universities, and others. According to the ethical principles, the research
must not be copied, republished and used without getting the consent from the original
researchers. The universities must also consider the ethical issue in order to protect the brand
image as well as the career of the students. From the above cases, it is analyzed that all the ethics
are violated by the universities, companies and publishers which impact on the brand's image in

the eyes of the customers. All the three cases are published in the news in the past ten years, and
it shows that the aggressive strategy must be adopted by the companies and universities in order
to protect the brand image in the eyes of the customers.

and analyzed in order to draw the conclusion (McMillan et al., 2014). The research

introduction, methods, results and references.

3. Research books
It is defined as the textbook which includes the previous research work of the various
authors which is used by the researcher in order to conduct the research study. It is used
as the research material in the research method theme. It is one of the most useful
materials which are utilized by the researcher in order to conduct the in-depth research
study within the particular period of time.
4. Electronic data
The electronic data is defined as the data which is stored in the electronic devices, and the
related records are used in conducting the research study. It is stored with an appropriate
metadata which can be used through particular software. The information can be accessed
by the researcher under the right to information act 2009 (Elliott et al., 2013). It helps in
conducting the research in order to analyze the data in a most efficient and effective
manner.
Recommendation
There are various additional tools which can be used to conduct the research study such as
journals, articles, youtube, video, books and others. The videos help to provide the insight
through visually in order to analyze the research study in a most efficient and effective manner.
The journals are recommended because they are mainly written by the experts in the selected
fields. So the use of journals helps to conduct the research in a more in-depth form (Booth et al.,
2016).

Conclusion
From the above review of all the three research methods, it can be concluded that research
methods play an important role in conducting the research and it provides the pathway which is
used by the researchers in order to conduct the research study. The qualitative method is mainly
used to conduct the survey which is related to the motivation, opinion, and others. It is applied to
conduct the survey which is not measurable in nature. The qualitative survey is mainly
conducted by the researchers to determine the quality of the research. There are additional
materials which can be used by the user in order to conduct the study in a more analytical
manner such as videos, journals, articles and others. The experimental study is mainly conducted
in the field of science, and laboratory experiments are conducted in order to determine the cause
and effect relationship which can be further used by the researchers as a primary resource. There
are variousmaterials which are used in conducting the research such as research books, articles,
electronic data and case study analysis. All the three methods are studies in last three weeks. The
case study analysis is one of the most important materials which are used in the research method
theme. The research articles are acts as a primary resource which is used for conducting the in-
depth analysis related to the research study. The research books are also used as the material
which is conducting in conducting the research.
