INTRODUCTION
Professional development indicates to the constant activity of learning and obtaining new
competencies for performing the task explicitly or perfectly by formal training activities or
analysing the behaviour of other employees. This written document is supported to Marriott
International Inc. is an American multinational diversified organisation (Barone, Vercio and
Jirasevijinda, 2019). The company was incorporated in 1927 and is headquartered in Maryland,
US. In this following project report will discuss about analysis of benefits of on-going
professional development and the skills or qualities needed for a specific job role. The document
will also determine the importance of personal skill assessment and different approaches or
concepts of learning and personal and professional development.

The activity of on-going professional development indicates to documenting each
competency which has been obtained by a worker for developing future employability and
offering advantages to each stakeholder. There are several benefits can be offered by ongoing
professional development at Marriott Hotel to diverse stakeholders in the company and the
description of them as under:

Competitive benefits- In Marriott, making enlargement and improvement in skills and
knowledge of employees is one of the main source to gain competitive benefit and use or
implement each resource of the enterprise in effective manner.
Employee engagement- On-going professional development needs implementation of
different training and development sessions at Marriott which effectively maximises the
employees’ engagement within the firm that is advantageous by the administration.
Employees
Motivation- There are several kind of efforts made by a company to make development in
the skills of workforce that assist in encouraging workers and provides them a sense of
belongingness (Schmidt and McArthur, 2018). For example, in Marriott, activity of professional
development of sales manager can provide outcomes in to a favourable change in their behaviour
which also assists in offering quality and better services to their target audiences or guests.
