1PROFESSIONAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT1.Summary of Professional SkillsMy best role is working in the Administrative section as a Human ResourceDepartment. I am keen on working as a Human Resource Manager. The roleof Human Resource Managers is to plan, direct and organize the functions ofan organization (Aswathappa 2013). They also hire and recruit new staff. Theadministrative staff or the Human Resource manager acts as a tie between themanagement and the employees. As a human resource manager, I will beexposed to different kind of people, my communication skills will improveand the pay scale is attractive too. On an average, a Human Resource Managerreceives £35,813per annum in the United Kingdom. Involvement of humanpsychology intrigues me to work as a Human Resource Manager.While playing the role of a Human Resource Manager, I have gainedknowledge about the required professional skills. From my experience, I learntthat a Human Resource Manager must have good communication skills. He orshe must be able to express his views to both the employees and themanagement. A Human Resource Manager must have the ability of multi-tasking. Great multi-tasking skills make the job easier and exciting. Having agood sense of ethics is also necessary (Marchington et al. 2016). Therefore,from my experience, I have comprehended that these are the basic skills,which are required to work as a Human Resource Manager in an organization.To work as an administrative staff in the Human Resource Department, aperson must be qualified with a few professional skills. The skills that arerequired are technological, organizational, communication, time management,multi-tasking, problem solving and great negotiation skills. For instance,

Usually, in the management culture disputes orconflicts do arise among the employees. Human Resource Manager also actsas a creative conflict solving head. Therefore, such skills are utilized insituations like these. A Human Resource Manager must have the ability toinfluence people as well. Another important skill of the administrative staff isrecruiting, hiring and screening of new talent. This is major job of a HumanResource Manager. Hence, he or she must have the skill of being diplomaticand fair while judging the employees. The Human Resource Manager alsoplays a significant role in the training program of the employees. Hence,without these skills a Human Resource Manager will not be able to performhis duties.2.Evaluation of Group EffectivenessI have worked in a group, played the role of a Human Resource Manager, andlearnt the effectiveness of it. During my course, I have cooperated and helpedmy team members to finish the task on time. Working in a group taught methat understanding and time management play a vital role in theAdministrative Department. As a group, I managed and organized thefunctions of the organization. While working with the members of the group, Idid well in handling the recruitment process of the organization. In the group,I did well by using my communication, planning and organizing skills.Along with doing well in the group, I also faced a few challenges. Thechallenges that I usually faced during the course were meeting the deadline ontime, understanding the views of the other members and in coordinating(Sparrow 2016). A group when working together faces trouble and hassle.
