Executive Summary
Project management is a critical process because of various complexities in
different steps. Therefore, a manager should have a proper understanding of the
project and find out the risk of the projects. This report will provide five stages of
projects to manage and its complexities.
This report will describe the project management plan and all the processes with
evidence. It will describe the logbook of project and project report. Analysis of
project is necessary and there are various things, which should be considered in the
project management.
In this report, digital technologies role will explain using proper examples. Digital
technologies make a huge impact on business activities, such as finance,
marketing, and operations.

Introduction
Digital transformation is the basic need of a business in the present era. Most of the
businesses have used digital technologies for their operations (Bosomworth, 2014).
Therefore, it is necessary to introduce new emerging technologies in the business
perspective for an organization (Bosomworth, 2014). In addition, business grows
based on innovations and digital transformation is the best way for innovations in
business (Bradlow & Jayachandra, 2015). Most of the businesses are online and they
are using digital technologies for their various business processes. Therefore, it is a
basic thing to do to increase the performance of the business at a high level
(Byrnes, 2018).
From the last two decades, most of the organizations are shifting their business
through digital transformation and those organizations will get more success and
growth in the future (Byrnes, 2018). There are many emerging technologies in the
present word that will provide a huge scope of success in the future, such as
artificial intelligence, machine learning, and social media sites, as well as business
intelligence (Bélanger & Crossler, 2011). In addition, AI is highly used in business
(Tkáč & Verner, 2016).
This report will describe the impact of digital technologies on business activities,
such as marketing, sales, finance, and many others. It will describe the latest
technologies, which are used in the business and provide huge growth and success
in the future.
This report will use the work breakdown structure (WBS) and Gantt chart to monitor
activities properly, which is based on digital technologies. It will describe the project
management plan including scope, documentation, time, cost, aspects of risk, and
resources.

Project management:
Project management is the process of information, skills, tools, and techniques to
project activities to meet project requirements. In addition, there are some
additional features required to complete the process of project management. These
are the things, which required completing a project successfully:
Quality: it matters a lot in the project management, as most of the client’s required
high quality in the project. Stakeholders, owners, and customers maintain quality in
a project that is decided. Quality standards are also defined based on organizational
values and standards.
Benefits: the project must provide huge benefits to all the stakeholders.
Time: it is necessary to complete the project within the given deadline.
Scope: scope of the project needs to be meeting the structure of the project.
Cost: cash amount is major a lot in the project management, as it is a part of the
whole budget.
Risk: risk management is the most important parts of project management and it is
necessary to create a proper project portfolio based on risk tolerance.
There is some responsibility of the project manager in the whole processes, which
areas:
Plan and define Scope: a manager should create a proper plan and scope of the
project.
Plan the activity and order: a manager should create a plan and its activities in
proper order.
Resource planning: the manager must ensure the resources, which are used in the
project.

Development Schedule: a manager should create a proper schedule of
development.
Estimated Time: the manager must provide a deadline for that project to the client.
Estimated Cost: Cost estimation is necessary for client and manager.
Budget development: a manager should provide the budget of the project to the
client.
Document: the project must require proper documents for each step.
Create charts and calendars: there should be Gantt chart and other processes to
monitor the project in a proper way.
Risk analysis: Manager should find out risks of the project, create mitigation
strategies, and control for those risks.
Risk management and problems: the manager must take responsibility for risk
management and problem-solving.
Monitoring and Progress Report: Manager should take responsibility for monitoring
the whole processes of the project and make a progress report of that project.
Leadership team: leadership is required to complete the project.
Strategic influence: a manager should have strategic changes in the project.
Business partners: a manager should know about the business partners of the
project.
Working with suppliers: a manager should consider suppliers for the success of the
project.
Extensibility, interoperability, and flexibility: the manager must consider
extensibility, flexibility, and interoperability in the project.
Quality control: a manager should consider the quality of the project.
Implementation Benefits: the manager must know about the benefits of the project
and its implementation.

Five Stages of project management
There are five steps of project management, which are necessary to complete a
project successfully. Various factors make an impact on the project, such as project
management skills, teamwork, time-management, resources handling, risk
management, and many others.

Conception and initiation
Definition and planning
Launch and execution
Performance and control
Project close
All these steps are important and there are some documentation parts at each step,
which is useful for monitoring the whole project.

There should be a SMART goal for a project to find out their scope and outcomes
within time and cost. In addition, there are so many advantages of SMART goals in
project management.

A project manager should use the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) to monitor the
performance of the employees and other processes of that project.
The impact of digital technology on business activity
There are many technologies, which are used in the business. In the present era,
digital technologies are mostly used in the business to enhance the performance of
the company (Castelluccio, 2017). There are many other things, which make a huge
impact on the business, such as working style, culture, procedure, and many others
(Chen & Huang, 2009).
