Chapter 1: Introduction
1.1 Purpose
The purpose of the research is to identify the impact teamwork have on the
development of organisational productivity. In the modern world, teamwork is important as it
can help in quicker completion of jobs with minimum effort (Salmon, Stanton and Jenkins
2017). It is also necessary to assign specific duties and responsibilities to each member so
that effective results can be derived. The research analyses the impact of teamwork and its
effectiveness for trying to improve the productivity of Tesco f&f.
Tesco f&f is a branch of Tesco Plc that provides customers with an opportunity to
shop from a range of fashionable clothes. The first Tesco f&f shop was opened in Saudi
Arabia, in 2012. The company provides a wide range of clothing accessories for women, men
as well as kids (Tesco.com 2019).
1.3 Rationale
The research will be conducted in order to understand the impact responsibilities
given to people can yield. Teamwork often brings about changes in the mentality of the
people and helps in improving the overall productivity. The reason for the concept to be
focused on Tesco f&f in Saudi Arabia is that the company has been recently active in the
country.

The aim of the research is to understand the impact teamwork have on increasing the
productivity of an organisation. The research is based on identifying the impact of teamwork
on the productivity of Tesco f&f, a clothing retail company that is located in Saudi Arabia.

positivism research philosophy, descriptive research approach and deductive research design.
3.2 Research size and data collection techniques
In order to conduct the research in an effective manner, primary data collection
technique will be used. The primary data collection technique can help in understanding the
mentality of the employees working at Tesco f&f. A total of 50-sample size will be selected
and the data will be analysed by the use of SPSS method.
