INTRODUCTION Human Resource Management (HRM) term is considered as the system in which theymanage people within an organisation. This department play vital role in the company becausethey are responsible for creating better workforce and manage it in effective manner (Altman,Sabato and Wilson, 2010). HR manager perform his duty by completing several activities such asrecruiting, selecting, hiring, providing compensation, benefits and also design the work for thepurpose of achieving particular goals or objectives of the company. They focus on in creasingprofits and productivities by utilising man power. This report is based on Toyota plc which is amanufacturing automobile company and it is situated at Tokyo, Japan. This will explain variouspurpose and functions of HRM and strengths and weaknesses of various approaches forrecruiting and selecting procedures. In this defined various benefits for employers and employeeswhich also discussed here. In this analyse the importance of employee relation and legislationwhich has major impacts upon the HRM decision-making process. This will illustrate variousapplications of HRM practices as well. TASK 1P1. Purpose and function of HRM that are applicable to workforce planning and resourcingHRM is defined as the process in which included several activities of recruitment andselections according to employees skills and abilities in the organisation. HR department is veryimportant for every firms as they perform several duties or responsibilities to manage anddevelop business as they are responsible for recruiting, hiring and firing as well as developmentof people for attaining set goals and objectives in an effective manner. There are severalactivities that are available and must be performed by the HR manager in the Toyota Firm. As

they have to required for managing and maintaining relationship among people so that bettercoordination can be created (Battisti and Perry, 2011). They focus on recruiting and selectingbest or suitable candidates for creating better workforce. HRM is an essential for generating orcreating revenues as well as profits and wealth of the company in an effective manner. Purpose of HRM:Human resource management has various purposes and aims that they always try toincrease productivity of firms by building the effective bridge between line management andworkers of an organisation. Every firm has their own hierarchy system in different ways whichthey have to follow. It can be understand by taking example as small business have limitedworkforce so that they can interact with every and each individuals within the firm. On the otherside, large scale organisations have number of hierarchy systems as well as layers ofmanagement so it can be difficult to interact with every person in an appropriate manner(Blackburn, Hart and Wainwright, 2013). HR manager of Toyota plc also consider the healthyenvironment and positive workforce so they perform several functions and activities to creatingas well as maintaining good atmosphere. It will also affects on the working conditions in aneffective manner. These are as follows;Cultural sensitivity: This is an important role that must be performed in an appropriatemanner. As it is necessary to create a positive as well as healthy culture so that employees canfeel equality and also works for increasing growth of the firm in appropriate manner. HRmanager focus on dividing every task or activities among every individuals in effective mannerso that goals and objectives can be achieved in an appropriate ways. Law: HRM department must be required to identify and understand entire legal structureas well as legislations so that these can be applied in the business firm. In this consider variouslabour relations and negotiations as well. It is an essential that helps in identifying and gettingvarious terms and conditions and procedures which applied in the firm as how they can recruit,select, hire as well as fire to workers which is depends on the legal rules, regulations as well ascode of conducts of the government. HR manager of Toyota plc has to consider the severalsystems or procedures such as retirement plans, various schemes, conflict resolutions for thepurpose of creating and maintaining healthy environment. Employee management: HRM consist various purposes and functions which support ingenerating profits for the firms and also it is an essential in increasing productivity in the Toyota
