This recruitment is being conducted to hire a café manager for BookCafes. For the purpose of selection
Jim Murphy (owner, chairman and CEO), Jack (the Finance and Operations Manager) and Amy Trillet –
Current Café Manager will be included. This position of cafe manager is for second cafe manager, as one
cafe manager is already there. New cafe manager will also require undertaking all key tasks of cafe
manager and contributes in smooth operations of cafe.

Job Description
Job title: Cafe Manager
Salary: $3725 per month
Hours: 38 hours a week
Location: Melbourne
Reporting relationships: Reporting to Jim Murphy
About Book Café: A privately owned company (the book cafe group - BCG), earlier operating cafes in
and around Melbourne metropolitan region has now expanded to 13 cafes in bookstores across Victoria.
Cafes are being operated successfully from last 25 years and trades from 7 am – 11 pm, is looking for a
cafe manager.
Purpose of position: The BookCafé operates with a mission to deliver value to customers and investors
through highly trained, motivated and expert workforce. This role of cafe manager is also expected to add
value in workforce and contribute in mission of The BookCafé.
Responsibilities and Duties:
To manage operations of cafe and contributing in smooth operations of cafe. Responsibilities of cafe
manager includes managing employees, looking after their training and performance appraisal, managing
customers complaints and managing other operations to ensure cafe run without any barrier.
Other requirements:
Essential Desirable
Academic and Trade University degree in management Masters in business
