INTODUCTION
Recruitment and selection is one of the most vital functions of a human resource
department. The process of recruitment and selection is highly complex and can lead to
ineffective hiring due to mistakes. Identification of vacancy, construction of job description,
job advertisement and posting advertisement on suitable promotional channel are some of the
initial stages of this long process. In addition to these conducting interviews sessions, gaining
approval from high authorities is another crucial part of his process. It is essential for
business firms to carefully complete each stage during recruitment and selection in order to
gain a talented workforce. The business firm chosen for the present report is Coffee Ville
which is a well-known establishment located in Melbourne. The company is looking for a
cafe manager. A recruitment schedule for the position of cafe manager at Coffee Ville is
provided in this report along with interview guidance and email to seek approval from the
owners of Coffee Ville. In addition to this updated version of the interview guide is provided
in this report. Reference check of each candidate is completed in this report which along with
updated interview guide firm the basis of creation of selection report. Selection report for
most suitable candidate is also provided in this report. Offer letter for selected and advise
email for applicants unsuccessful in securing employment is also given in this report.

of Café Manager. The position is expected to be completed by
the café in order to achieve the aims and priorities of Coffee
Ville and the plan for development and progress. So, that they
can employee and recruit the candidates who have proper skills,
knowledge and abilities. Then they conduct the orientation
sessions in order to tell their employees about their roles and
responsibilities.

Job title: Café Manager
Salary: $24 per hour

Hours: 40 hours or half time working from Tuesday to Saturday or from Wednesday to
Saturday Full time working week
Location: CoffeeVille, 3216, Collins Street, Melbourne
Reporting relationships: The coffee manager informs CoffeeVille owner of the coffee. The
café manager frequently participates in the consumer relationship. The position should also
include complaints from the customers for the café manager.
About CoffeeVille: CoffeeVille, which serves consumers as early as 2009, is a café on
Melbourne Street. A café run by a family that offers a wide variety of premium and fair trade
coffees. The café operated Emma and Rufus are owned by two partners. A variety of items
such as hot and cold gourmet food and coffee are sold by the café to its customers. Coffee
and food made at CoffeeVille uses the balanced gluten-free organic foods that serve
consumers' wellness choices. Intense outreach efforts are underway to promote the goods and
services in the cafeteria, the coffee founders, Emma Belcastran and Rufus Belcastran. The
Coffee Ville goal is to build the company in five years' time and create it on the coffee
industry in Melbourne as a known branded product.
The purpose of position: The aim of the Cafe's position is to fulfil the criteria of the
responsible manager to deal with and manage customer's issues and to meet the coffee's
development goals. The managers have agreed to open their café on Saturdays thus taking
account of the coffee drinkers' success and popularity. Coffee Ville needs a coffee manager
who can be promoted as full-time manager to do this. The another purpose of selected
organisation is that they have to recruit talented employees so that they can manage all the
problems and issues of customer in an effective manner. With the help of this, Coffee Ville
can build the better customer experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibility 1 – The management of the employees is the obligation of the coffee owner.
In order to be able to retain the word document for documenting information for coffee staff,
the café manager is responsible. To maintain all the documents of staff members and their
information related to their name, address, experience, roles and responsibilities in Coffee
Ville.

Responsibility 2 – The café manager provides the preparation and the orientation services for
the employees of the cafe in-house. He is responsible for overseeing the event's matters and
providing the staff with the appropriate preparation. Adopting the best method of training so
they effectively trained their employees which hep them to assign and tell the roles and
responsibilities to be performed by selected candidates.
Responsibility 3 – The coffee manager should be responsible for regularly assessing the
efficiency of coffee workers. If any differences are detected, the manager shall take the
appropriate steps. The manager has to analyse and monitor the employees and give them
feedback in regard to the performance performed by staff members. Then the main
responsibilities is to tell them in which area or services they have to improve.
Responsibility 4 – The Café Manager is also responsible for conducting team meetings and
for maintaining product lists. The main responsibilities of manager to conduct meeting with
their team members so that they can maintain the best quality of services and items in their
menu.
Responsibility 5 – The Café Manager is responsible for keeping the café safe, clean and
healthy. The manager still maintains the content documents used in the café. The another
responsibility of manager is that they have to have to clean the food preparation area and
regularly clean the equipment’s on regular basis.
Responsibility 6 – Welcome the guest in attractive way, contact with them and process the
concern of the client. The main responsibility of Coffee Ville manager is that to welcome
their guest and give better services and solve the issue of clients according to their
requirements.
