1.REFLECTIVE JOURNAL ENTRY PRO-FORMACore skillNorris (2018) viewed that negotiation is regarded as a structured and effectivecommunication process in which the parties tends to resolve their differences and disputes thatusually exists among them, making efforts to identify resolution which are adopted by everyindividual.The definition stated that the negotiation is a procedure under which two or more persons, whousually have conflicts of interest, are making efforts to reach an agreement instead of a victoryand most important thing is that persons involved are not opponents but partners. Theyusually want to achieve their goals without exploiting their relationship and also makecompromise to resolve disputes. Significance of core and reasons for reflection Negotiation is analysed as most essential activity which was introduced several yearsbefore and it is important for both professional and personal life (Cheng, 2017). It raisescritical analysis that various individuals needs to confront and yet it is basic on how businessgets accomplished. It takes place various time across nations. It provides understanding that individual start to practice its negotiation skills.From time it learns to speak and utilize this skill every time there is requirement of doingsomething. From the perspective of an employee, negotiation helps in getting an increase in salary,promotion or even decrease in targets (Kolajo and Amenkhienan, 2016). In addition to this,HR Managers will always use this skill at the time hiring individual at workplace.An appropriate leader can also solve disputes which can arise between functional units andattain financial resources for the project or formulation of strategies for administration ofmeetings. Present competency of skill and way of assessment.I analyse that negotiation skill was my weakness as I need to influence others foraccomplishment of what I need despite of losing anything. However, I am comfortable andaspirant because I consider that I am correct. In order to analyse and retain my designation inaccordance to this ability & skills, I have utilized theory of Johari window which highlight thatmy colleagues evaluates me as anxious, nervous and perfectionist person. Those traits statedthat I am not intentionally concerned with generating new ideas and in some situations I can1

also resist the impulse to make argument with colleagues and team member when we do notpossess same thoughts and opinions. Another theory which I have utilized is “The Blake and Mouton Managerial grid” andoutcomes provided understanding that I behave like an authoritarian leader and emphasize oncompletion of activities (Kolajo and Amenkhienan, 2016). Moreover, the fact which stated thatI am not cooperative creates complexity for me to respond awkward moment at the time ofnegotiation. Also provide influence on communicating my objectives clearly when I foundthat it is complex to consider arguments of other individuals. Identified contradictions from self analysis When my colleagues and friends have provided their views that I posses skill ofnegotiation, then I have made a further recognition of this capability using the theory ofnegotiation and results was surprising. In self-assessment programme, I have scored 70 pointswhich clearly stated that I possess some capabilities to communicate with individuals atworkplace. I will communicate and behaviour in appropriate manner when there isrequirement of negotiation on a particular situation.Support of skill in future As per analysis, communication plays as an important role in negotiation and it isdirectly linked with ability to negotiate. It provides support in achievement of objectives andcompletion of research. 2.Core skill As stated by Kennedy (2017), Public speaking is process in which a person motivateother in order to achieve the goals and directing other business enterprise in a direction whichmakes it more united and coherent. A leader can also motivate his team members to achieve acommon goal. It is an quality to measure and predict a long term plan or policy and affect followers towardsgetting the predetermined strategy.
