INTRODUCTION Personal leadership and management are related to make improvement in the personalskills and abilities of individuals. Management plays an important role in developing differentattributes of employees so that they can give their best (Arnold, Fletcher nd Anderson, 2015).The present report is based on personal leadership and management of John Lewis which is thechain of up market departmental stores that is operating in United Kingdom. The company ishaving annual income of around 4.060 billion (About us, 2016). The report explains the impactof organizational objectives, values and culture on the leadership and management role of firm.Other than this, personal assessment of skills are elaborated that help to implement thedevelopment plan. Apart from this, management of personal development plan for improvingleadership and management skills are also described. In addition to this, evaluation of leadershipand management skills are done which are required to make support in the organizationalobjectives. TASK 1Impact of organizational objectives, values and culture on the leadership and management roleOrganizational objective plays an important role in achieving the goals of the company. Itis much important for John Lewis to develop management strategies according to their objectivesand goals. As organization has the objective of increasing market share, for this, it is muchimportant for company to use effective management and leadership styles (Byrn and et.al.,2016). Other than that, firm is also having the objective of becoming number one departmentalstore in UK. In this case, it will help the firm to make their employees more skilled andexperienced through which it is possible for them to get their goals more easily and early(Rothaermel, F. T., 2015). Apart from this, effective leadership styles such as use of participative style will help thepeople to make contribution in taking relevant decision for the growth of organization. Otherthan this, people will also be able to find effective ways that make contribution in theorganizational growth (Cheong and Tsui, 2016). Management also has an effective contributionin forecasting the needs of organization regarding finance. In addition to this, firm follows thepower and person culture which is the reason behind their success. For maintaining this,

company has to work for adopting effective leadership style so that they will be able to managepeople within organization. The leaders should have to be more supportive with the employees inmaking them skilled which will lead to organizational growth. Apart from this, leadership style will also help the firm to make direction through whichit will be possible for them to get their goals effectively (Christensen and et.al., 2015). If theculture of organization doesn't suit its leadership style then it will create a huge loss for the firm.Leadership and management skills required to support the achievement of organizationalobjectivesFor achieving the objectives of company, John Lewis has to take care about learningspecific leadership techniques. There are some skills related to scientific, individual andconceptual things. For this, firm needs to use some skills such as use of effective leadershipstyles and use of management skills. Management skills are related to set the goals and also towork on building interpersonal skills of individuals (Donate and de Pablo, 2015). Other than this,they should also work on managing people in the organization so that it will be possible for themto make to complete their duties effectively (Leadership Management: Principles, Models andTheories, 2013). In addition to this, they should also work on organizing training and developmentprograms for employees so that they will be able to learn new skills and techniques. This will notonly help to grow them in the organization but also it will also support in improving theirpersonal life. They should also appoint a problem solving manager which can help the people tosolve their work based problem (Fernandez and et.al., 2015). Other than this, it will help them todo the work with more perfection so that they will be able to achieve the organizationalobjectives more easily. Furthermore, leadership skills are also required for the growth of organization. Certainqualities are required in a good leader. Different leadership skills such as becoming honest andcreative are the most important skills that should be there in a leader (Hassan, 2015). Apart fromthis, leaders should be intelligent, confident and courageous so that he will be able to handle thequeries of employees. Solving the queries of people will help company to make effectivestrategies that will support the firm to grow in market.
