Part A. Critical perspective of individual group work
As per the view of Yang et al. (2014) teamwork is effective for leading the team and make a
decision accordingly. In the team, each individual supports each other for the accomplishment of
the team task in the least time and cost. The team model could be used to evaluate the weakness
and strengths of individuals with respect to developing high performing groups. For allocating
the task of an individual, it is mandatory for the team leader to evaluate the weakness of each
member.
I also applied this model and comprehend my group weakness. After this, I also realized that my
team has needed to use a democratic leadership style. It would be effective for making a
transparent relationship between employees in the working place (Thomas and Peterson, 2017).
It is evaluated that this leadership style could facilitate to the team member for discussing any
issues to the team leader and make a decision. Consequently, I used many tools and techniques in
developing the skills of an individual to make a reliable decision. It could also encourage my
team member for competing for the organizational task in the least time. I also used a cultural
dimension technique for avoiding the cultural issues and make a decision in the context of
current matter. I observed that Chinese people were not more interested in giving the suggestions
publicly.
Apart from this, van den et al. (2014) stated that depth knowledge about cultural values is
effective for cross-cultural communication as well as aids to the success of the multinational
organizations. It is also stated that the lack of knowledge about different culture could create a
conflict in the team. It could also bee also effective in the attainment of the organizational task.
The business executive could deeply evaluate culture and make a decision accordingly. The best

understanding of the background of a different culture to meet the goal of the team in the least
time and fewer resources (Bird and Mendenhall, 2016).
I gained my understanding of four different culture as it could be associated with China,
Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India. It could be effective in the attainment of the organizational
task. Due to the different culture, there is a higher probability of conflict in the working place. It
is also stated that as a leader of a team, I assigned work to each participant for smoothly working
in the team. The team member could have a higher context of the culture, as it could affect the
overall conversation. It could be quite challenging for each employee to work with each other
and make a decision accordingly (McKay-Semmler and Kim 2014). At the timing of team
discussion, I interrupted to the team member that demonstrates I did not give more value to the
thoughts and opinion to others that were a negative point for me. I observed that I have a lack of
listening skills that could impact on the overall performance of the team. It is also examined that
listening skills are effective for the best contribution to the working place by conducting
appropriate communication. It is effective for international business executives. It is stated that
the presentation in front of others was challenging for my team member as they were not much
confident to easily present their opinion, which demotivated to the member for working
effectively and making a decision in a suitable manner.
On the other side, Tjosvold (2017) stated that the communication tools us effective for a leading
team member as well as employees to make a decision and operate the business process.
Furthermore, the punctuality was also another major problem for any team to the
accomplishment of the team goal and make a reliable conclusion. Prior I gained my
understanding of different kinds of leadership style as it could be considered in the team to meet
the aim and objectives of the team.
