Human resources planning is an important concept for every organisation that ensure better
management of workforce to achieve targets in time. On contrary, inappropriate human resources
planning can lead to many issues like shortage or surplus of employees, chaos and conflicts, etc,
thus current investigation is based on Issues arises due to inappropriate human resource planning
so that timely corrective measures can be taken by organisation. For current research project a

Chapter 1: Introduction
1.1. Overview of topic
Workers are the biggest asset and key of success for any business organisation thus, proper
human resources planning is necessary and crucial for all organisation. Human resource planning
is mainly associated with a process of having systematic planning of quality employees in order
to achieve optimization in business operations and have better coordination to accomplish
desired targets on time (Brewster, 2017). It is crucial for all organisation to have effective human
resources planning as it ensures a proper fit and balance between required employees and job
positivism and avoid situation of shortage or surplus of manpower. But management of human
resources and its planning is a complex task in thus, the current research project is focused on
different challenges that get arises due to inappropriate human resource planning so that better
steps could be taken by organisation to overcome these issues to have better human resource
planning to enhance success and performance level of an organisation.
1.2. Background of chosen company
The organisation selected for current investigation is Point A Hotel London is a Central
Affordable and Beautifully Hosted hotel situated at London, UK. This Hotel is having a lot of
cafes, restaurants and convenient stores nearby together with Great location, variety of eating
places and efficient staff and value for money. Thus, being in a hospitality and service sector it
become much more important for Point A Hotel London to focus on human resources planning
to meet the dynamic demands and expectation of customers (Kumar, 2019). An inappropriate
human resource planning can lead to chaos and confusion at workplace that surely hamper the
performance and productivity of Point A Hotel London thus, the current investigation is based on
this organisation to identify the issues arises due to inappropriate human resource planning
together with determination of measures that can be adopted by Point A Hotel London for
effective human resource planning to enhance its performance and success level.
