INTRODUCTION Research skills refer to a ability to locate, organise, search, collect and present the information and data that is effective and relevant for a specific topic. This report is based on the Tesco that is one of the leading supermarket company in the UK. The organisation having more than 300000 employees within UK in also more than 3400 stores. The main aim of developing this research is to changing the retail market to gain the competitive advantage within the marketplace. The study undertakes the social cognitive theory that helps in examine the behaviour of the person at a particular situation and how to gain the high profits by completing the objectives. MAIN BODY Socialcognitivetheoryreferstothatdeterminantwhichhelpsininfluencingthe individual experiences, actions of others, environmental factors on the single person and their health behaviours. This model is very effective as it supports the instilling anticipation, self efficacy by using the learning by observations and reinforcing the other negative behaviour to implement the changes within behaviour.The social cognitive theory includes the several components that are self control, behavioural control, observational learning, self control, reinforcements, behavioural capabilities. This theory is very efficient to maintain the healthy relationship and building exercise for enhancing the independence so that relations can be developed (Boateng, et al. (2016).This theory helps the Tesco manager to targets the profits and attracting the customers to maintain their loyalty within the company. Presently, Tesco can highly focus on maintaining the sales level so that they will gain the competitive advantage within the marketplace. In this manager of the organisation can cut the 4500 jobs in their 153 high street Tesco Metro supermarkets (Cecco, 2019). The major aim of reducing the jobs within their metro stores is to simplify the administrative tasks in all over their metro stores. This changes can be done to focus on tailoring how the buyers can shops at the stores so that firm will focus on satisfying them to the high level. 3
This theory involves the reciprocal determinism, behavioural capabilities, observational learning, reinforcement, expectation, self efficacy etc. This these terms helps in constructing the development of changes within the behaviour of the people related to accepted the change within organisation. In this Tesco manager can focus on attracting the customers and in this they can cutting the many jobs in their metro stores and involves in the retailing stores so that customers can shop very effectively and also become loyal for the company. In this they can focus on implementing the changes by observing the behaviour of the individual employees. Behaviour of an individual person is effectively examine by adopting the use of three aspects which are personal, environmental and behavioural. In this manager can examine the individual employees in concern of customers in this Tesco high authority can analyse that one staff member can think that at big stores customers are creating mess and it is quite difficult to manage the store stock every day. One employees states that they cannot rearrange the stores properly as don't care about the customers thoughts and also confessed their bad behaviour with the customers. One can highly focus on the female customer by helping them by offering the guidance related to cloths and cosmetics so that they can attracted towards it . In this reciprocal determinism is the core concept of the social cognitive theory as it reflectstheinteractionbetweentheperson.InTermsofTesco,managercanfocuson maintaining the interaction between the employees and customers as per the external social concept and the behaviour. In this company can focus on the employees behaviour that they can implement in their working.The second aspect is the behavioural capabilities in which actual ability of the person is to be examine by using their knowledge and skills. For successfully represent their behaviour a person must understand what they can do and in what manner they can do. In this manager of the organisation can understand the behaviour of their customers as they are highly tired at the time of shopping at the metro stores and to resolve it they can reduce their employees and involves in the retail industry so that customers can enjoy their shopping for this they can also analyse the behaviour of their employees so that changes can be done effectively and efficiently. In this employees are disappointed from these types of changes and encourage them manager can display the consequences of their behaviour which also affect the environment in which they can live. Within the company, employees of the Tesco can get the high experience from the previous experience and expectations so that they can highly emphasis on the values that will reflects the positive outcomes that are subjective to the individual.In this employees are dissatisfied with the problems facing within the retailing sector and due to this they can reinforce to enhance their career within this but at this time manager of Tesco can encourage them with monetary benefits so that they work effectively and efficiently. At last the social cognitive model includes the self efficacy tool that is reflected the individual confidence that is changed due to the consequences present within the environment. AS it helps in gaining the profits and also developing the satisfaction to the employees within their company. The main purpose of implementing this theory within the Tesco is that it enhance the interdependence within the individual person due to this healthy relationship between the employees and company is to be maintained and firm will sustain for a longer period of time. This theory helps in examine the three factors that are personal factor, environmental factor and behaviour influence. All these helps in excepting the changes as per the situation occur and it will be reflected the positive outcome withinthe Tesco organisation after implementing the changes as it includes major consequences but at the end it helps in changing the behaviour of the workers towards the customers by getting the higher encouragement from the company side so that more sales can be enjoyed and due to this they will gain the competitive advantage so that they can survive to more time period within the retailing industry(Bratton, 2016). 5
