INTRODUCTION
Research skills refer to a ability to locate, organise, search, collect and present the
information and data that is effective and relevant for a specific topic. It is very vital for the
employees that help the organisation to develop new the new products and services and also
reshaping the organisation by analysing the needs and wants of the customers and also the
demands of the markets so that changes can be done effectively within the industry. Developing
the excellent research skills helps in highlighting the companies within the marketplace for a
longer period of time. This report is based on the Tesco that is one of the leading supermarket
company in the UK. The organisation having more than 300000 employees within UK in also
more than 3400 stores. The main aim of developing this research is to changing the retail market
to gain the competitive advantage within the marketplace. The study undertakes the social
cognitive theory that helps in examine the behaviour of the person at a particular situation and
how to gain the high profits by completing the objectives.
MAIN BODY
Social cognitive theory refers to that determinant which helps in influencing the
individual experiences, actions of others, environmental factors on the single person and their
health behaviours. This model is very effective as it supports the instilling anticipation, self
efficacy by using the learning by observations and reinforcing the other negative behaviour to
implement the changes within behaviour. The social cognitive theory includes the several
components that are self control, behavioural control, observational learning, self control,
reinforcements, behavioural capabilities. This theory is very efficient to maintain the healthy
relationship and building exercise for enhancing the independence so that relations can be
developed (Boateng, et al. (2016). This theory helps the Tesco manager to targets the
profits and attracting the customers to maintain their loyalty within the company. Presently,
Tesco can highly focus on maintaining the sales level so that they will gain the competitive
advantage within the marketplace. In this manager of the organisation can cut the 4500 jobs in
their 153 high street Tesco Metro supermarkets (Cecco, 2019). The major aim of reducing the
jobs within their metro stores is to simplify the administrative tasks in all over their metro stores.
This changes can be done to focus on tailoring how the buyers can shops at the stores so that
firm will focus on satisfying them to the high level.
