INTRODUCTION
In order to succeed in the contemporary business environment, it is essential for
management to focus on managing business activities as well as resources as it will result in
accomplishing aims and objectives of the firm (Bolton, 2014). It is also important to manage all
the operational activities related to day to day business. Presently, the study focuses on case
scenario of ABC Company with an aim to understand interrelationship of the department and
functions within the company. Furthermore, the report will also emphasize to design quality
systems and manage health and safety at the workplace as it leads to improve the overall
organizational performance. Lastly, the report will also focus on carrying out the risk assessment
from the workplace so that they can provide proper health and safety working environment to the
individuals those who are rendering servicing in the organization.
TASK 1
1.1 Organizational chart and interrelationship between the different process and function of the
company
According to the case scenario, ABC is a recruitment company that is facing some issues
that are poor management, ineffective leadership etc. that result in reducing thousands of jobs.
Organizational structure is the hierarchy that focuses on different processes and functions
operating within the organization that further assists in accomplishing the goals and objectives of
firm. ABC Company’s prime focus is on marketing and promoting activities so that they can
meet human resource requirements of their client organizations (Hughes and Ferrett, 2011).
Existing culture of ABC Company is-

From the above organizational chart, it can be measured that there is interrelationship
among the processes and functions within the company (Moran, Harris and Moran, 2011). For
example, company mainly concentrates on their recruitment and selection activities through this
they can easily select the competent and qualified candidates for the client organizations.
Therefore, in order to meet the recruitment and selection objectives, it is essential that financial
department properly and adequately allocates financial resources to the recruitment department
so that they can properly conduct the selection procedure (Stranks, 2010).
1.2 Process map
The key objective of ABC Company is to recruit qualified and competent personnel for
different client organizations. Thus, in order to meet the objective, it is essential to focus on
devising the process map for the recruitment function that results in screening and recruiting the
competent candidates as per the requirement of their clients (Davis, 2012). Process map for
recruitment function includes:

The first step in the recruitment process includes inviting applications for the vacant job
post. By this, company communicates vacancy in the market and allows candidate to apply for
the post. After that, recruitment function will assess the qualification of candidates with the
requirement of client organization (Forsgren and Johanson, 2014). Selected candidate will
further proceed towards the interview round where interviewer asks frequent questions and
judges their knowledge. The last step is selection of candidates for the job post.
1.3 Output of the process and element required to build a quality gateway
Output of recruitment process is evaluated through selecting the competent and qualified
personnel for their client organizations (Turner, Maylor and Swart, 2013). In order to avoid
selecting the incompetent and unqualified candidates, ABC Company must build a quality
gateway through which steps of the process are followed effectively that results in selecting the
competent candidates. The main aim of quality gateway is to drain incapable candidates from the
recruitment process. Selecting incompetent candidates for the client organization will result in
rendering improper services and thus, it will negatively impact the overall performance of
business entity (Kumar and Yakhlef, 2016).
Different elements within the recruitment process that are required to build a quality
gateway include that ABC must focus on increasing the steps within their recruitment processes
by conducting different tests to measure the candidate aptitude and knowledge required for the

job post (Achtenhagen, Melin and Naldi, 2013). Thus, while conducting interview, they should
ensure to increase the number of layers by conducting more personal interview round that mainly
results in selecting qualified and competent personnel for the vacant job post.
2.1 Plan to promote goals and objectives of ABC Company
In order to promote the goals and objectives of own area of responsibility, it is essential
for manager to design adequate plan that primarily focuses on various steps which help in
achieving the objectives. One of the main objectives of ABC Company is to target more and
more client organizations towards its services (Weske, 2012). Thus, for promoting its goal, ABC
company designs certain plan that is-
 The foremost step in the plan is to focus on conducting market research so that they can
easily determine about various clients and organizations those are willing to tie up with
the recruitment company.
 After that, ABC must ensure using legal and ethical consideration for recruiting and
selecting the candidates that results in choosing qualified candidates for the client
organization (Lundgren and McMakin, 2013).
 The last step within the plan is to determine the time period for accomplishing stated
goals and objectives of the firm Set deadline for accomplishing the objective is 3months.
2.2 SMART objectives
SMART objectives are formulated by the organization to accomplish the significant aims
and objectives that mainly outcome in enabling higher profitability (Kossek and Thompson,
2016). Here, SMART objectives are as follows-
 Specific: This objective of ABC Company is to select qualified candidate for the client
organization within the duration of 2 weeks.
 Measurable: The above specific objective is measurable because ABC follows certain
steps and procedures for recruiting and selecting candidates.
 Achievable: The stated objective is achievable in nature as company possesses adequate
resources that assist in selecting the competent personnel for the client organizations.
 Reliable: The objective is also reliable as company uses attractive promotional strategies
to attract candidates towards the vacant job post (Goetsch and Davis, 2014).

 Time frame: The last is time frame by which management sets deadline for
accomplishing the specific objectives. For achieving this, set deadline is of 2 weeks.
2.3 Appropriate systems to achieve objectives
In order to accomplish the objectives in the most efficient way, on time, to budget and
meeting organizational standards of quality ABC recruitment company must focus on
implementing appropriate systems within the workplace that overall support the organization in
improving their performance. The different systems implemented within the ABC company are- Time management system- Time management system is consider as an effective system
that is implemented within the ABC company so that manager can easily manage the
important and urgent activities in the given time (Oakland, 2014). Thus, it further
outcome in accomplishing the goals and objectives of the firms. Financial system: Another system that must be implemented within the company is
financial system that help ABC company in arranging the monetary fund from the
investors so that company can render proper services for their client organization.
 Legal and regulatory framework- Another system that is implemented within the
company in accomplish the objective is enabling proper legal and regulatory framework
so that ABC company must engage in the ethical activities for selecting and recruiting the
competent personnel for their different client organization (Kim, Kumar and Kumar,
2012).
2.4 Work activities meeting the operational plan through effective monitoring and controlling
There are different ways for executing the work activities meeting the operational plan
through effective monitoring and controlling include-
 PERT- The effective monitoring and controlling controlling devise that support the ABC
company in rendering proper work activities towards meeting the operational plan
include PERT (Srinivasan, 2015). It stands for program evaluation and review
techniques. Under this method ABC company can bifurcate their process activities or
work activities in the proper manner that it results in accomplishing the stated goals and
objectives.
 Just in time activities- Another method is just in time, under this technique ABC
company focuses on dividing their work activities with the main focus to improve their

processes ad results in enhancing the overall performance of the organization (Brun,
2010). Under just in time technique recruitment company can focus on reducing the costs
associated with recruiting and selecting the candidate for the client organization.

company
In order to manage and monitor the quality standard within the activities and processes of
ABC company it is essential to design the different systems. All the systems support the
recruitment company to engage in the activities that results in selecting qualified candidate sand
personnel for their client organization (Moran, Harris and Moran, 2011). The different systems to
manage the quality standard within the ABC company are-1. TQM (Total Quality Management)- The foremost system that is design to manage and
monitor the quality standard within the recruitment company is enabling TQM approach.
This system focuses on amending and altering the process activities of the company that
results in delivering proper solution to their customers (Hughes and Ferrett, 2011).
Therefore, the key principle of TQM approach is that it is customer focused approach
thus, it results in managing and improving the quality standard.
2. Quality circle- Another system or technique for managing and monitoring the quality
standard within the ABC recruitment company is focusing on quality circles framework
that ensure group of worker and staff performing the similar work collaboratively and
individual voluntary solve the defined problem or quality related problem (Forsgren and
Johanson, 2014).
3.2 Quality culture to ensure continuous monitoring, evaluation and development of the process
for the ABC company
In order to ensure continuous monitoring, evaluation and development of the process for
the ABC company it is effective for ABC company to focus on creating quality culture within
the company. With the help of demonstrating quality culture in the recruitment company they
can easily render proper and quality services to their client organization through providing them

recommendation for the improvement in their process as it will positively benefit the recruitment

2016). The certain recommendations are-
 In order to maintain quality and ethical practices while recruiting and selecting the
candidate for the client organization it has been recommended that staff must be provided
with the proper training so that they may select the competent and qualified candidate for
their client organization.
 Furthermore, it has been also recommended that for improving the quality ABC company
must ensure proper procedure for performing their activities so that they can deliver
quality services to their customers and other client organization (Achtenhagen, Melin and
Naldi, 2013).
3.4 Implication of proposed changes within ABC company
From the case scenario, ABC company possess ineffective and poor management with
inadequate leadership that results in causing insufficiency within the business organization
(Weske, 2012). Thus, it is required to propose change within the ABC company related with the
leadership activities so that they can easily lead and direct the staff towards rendering proper and
adequate services to their client organization.
There is wider implications of proposed changes within the ABC recruitment company
that is with the change in the leadership and management approaches it results in improving the
situation and performance of the company in the market. In addition to this, the benefit of
proposed change is that it lead and direct the staff towards rendering proper and ethical services

so that they can easily enable the health and safety of their employees and staff within the
organization. Legislation and regulations focuses on series step for measuring the risks and
hazards existing in the ABC company (Kossek and Thompson, 2016). There are certain steps
that need to be followed by the ABC company to ensure proper assessment of risks that is-
 Identifying the risks
 Risks to the employees
 Procedures for reducing the risks
 Systems for monitoring and controlling the hazards
 Reviewing the consequences
Through following the proper steps ABC company can easily carry out the risks

related with providing eye gear for the employees as most of the time they work on the
computers. Thus, it will results in protecting the eye of staff. On the other hand, another
legislation and regulation related with the health and safety include enabling First aid provision
within the work situation so that they can enable the health and safety of their workers and staff
within the organization (Kim, Kumar and Kumar, 2012). As per the legislation workplace that
possess more than 500 employees must have first aid provision within the premises.

procedures
In order to carry out the systematic review of organizational health and safety policies
and procedures ABC company must ensure reviewing and evaluate the effectiveness of different
policies that are already implemented within the organization (Srinivasan, 2015). With the
effective implementation of the health and safety polices it will outcome in reducing and
decreasing the ratio of labour turnover as they are satisfied with the health and safety
environment provided within the ABC company. On the other hand, if ABC company is
ineffective in successfully implementing the health and safety policy then it would results in
increasing the turnover rate as staff will leave the organization as the environment of
organization is not in the favour of their staff.
4.4 Carry out practical application of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace
for ABC company
In order to maintain health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace for ABC
company management is required to carry out the practical application (Brun, 2010). With the
help of application of different health and safety policies and procedures ABC company can
easily provide safe working and healthy environment for their staff that results in rendering
delivering proper services to their client organization. In addition to this, for carrying out
practical application company must ensure that-
 Each of the staff and workers must cooperate with the governmental norms and policies
that are formulated as it results in preventing staff from risks and hazards within the
employment.
 Furthermore, it is also essential that individual employees within the company must get
committed towards carrying out the policies and activities in the ethical and safety
manner so that it may not harm the others (Bolton, 2014).
 ABC company can also initiate a brochure that possess function and duty related with the
Health and safety. The booklet must have information regarding all kind of injuries that
an employees can face within the workplace as well as it also contain all the precautions
taken by the staff for their health and safety.
