Reflection
There are several resources that work together on the project. These resources have their
own significance and contribution in the projects. Project Manager is one such resource
that has a high degree of significance, influence as well as contribution in the project. In
the ticketing system that has to be developed for RALS, the project manager is the
resource that is responsible for various planning, execution, control and closure activities.
In case of an inadequate or unskilled project manager, there can be severe consequences
that the entire project team may have to face. The selection of the project manager shall
therefore be done as per the project specifications and needs.
There are several phases in the project that are present and each of these phases has their
own significance and importance. One of the initial phases of the project is the planning
phase. It is the phase in which some very important decisions is taken regarding the
project. For instance, in case of the RALS ticketing system, the planning phase includes
the estimation of project schedule, scope, risks and budget. These project estimates shall
be done correctly so as to avoid any of the associated risks. There is also communication
planning and resource planning that is done in this phase to make sure that the project
goals are met (Westland, 2016).
There are several different methodologies that are present and are applicable in the
projects. The one that aptly applies in case of RALS is the Project Management Body of
Knowledge (PMBOK). This methodology provides the project management and the
project team members with the stages and phases that must be present in the project life
cycle. The project progress according to these phases ensures that the project objectives
are easily met (Openlearn, 2016). As a result, the project success is certain.
Conclusion
RALS ticketing system is a project that has a number of different elements that are critical and
important. The project must be carried out in a phased manner with initiation, chartering and
planning being the initial phases of the project. The developmental and management
