INTRODUCTION Organizational behaviour can be defined as study of the manner in which individualscommunicate with each other, within groups etc. It is study of human behaviour in organisationalsettings the interface between the company and employee behaviour and entity itself. The mainconcern of study of the behaviour of employees is that it have direct impact on the performanceof the business. It further help in building more efficient business entity. It further helpemployees, structure, technology and the external environment mix together so as to developeffective functional system. With the help of organisational behaviour study, the affect ofemployees, teams , culture and structure have on company for the objective of application ofsuch knowledge enhancing an companies effectiveness. In this report, various aspects oforganization behaviour will be studied with reference to CAPCO company. It is leadingcompany that functions in financial service industry. It is international business and technologyconsultancy firm. In this report, structure and culture of CAPCO will be compared with BostonConsulting (About CAPCO. 2015). Thereafter, factors that impact individual behaviour will bestudied. Further, different organisational theory will be studied. Also, learning will b shownregarding different motivation theories and leadership styles. TASK 11.1 Compare and contrast CAPCO’s structure and culture with Boston Consulting PLCThe organisation structure refers to how functions such as allocation of work,coordination and supervision are focused and oriented towards the attainment of business goals.It can also be stated as hierarchical arrangement of lines of authority,communication , duties andresponsibilities (Bosuchukwu, 2016). The organisational structure defines the way roles,responsibilities are allocated, managed, controlled and coordinated along with the managementof communication channel across the different hierarchical levels. On the other hand,organisational culture refers to system of shared assumptions, beliefs , attitude which determinethe behaviour of the employees in the company. The culture and structure are directly associatedwith each other (About CAPCO. 2015). The business structure directly impact the culture ofcompany as a result of placement of employees within that structure. 3

With reference to structure of CAPCO, it have flat structure. It is type of structure wheremost of the middle management levels and their operations have been eliminated. This type ofstructure facilitate direct communication between management and employees. The flat structurestructure enhance the responsibility of employees in the company and encourage them to be partof decision-making process (Ceja-Barba, 2014). The elimination of extra layers of managementenhance the interaction and coordination between employees. It further posses a direct chain of command from the superior level of theorganisation to the bottom. This type of structure prevents direct communication betweenexecutives and employees ( Gupta and et.al., 2012 ). The benefit of this structure is that authorityand responsibilities are clear and well defined. It also promote specialization and build expertiseamong them. However, it may increase the chances of inter department rivalry. 4
