INTRODUCTION
In this report role of non direct care workers will be discussed. It is considered that these
workers are essential part of society as they indulge in numerous activities like cleaning and
maintaining records (Abel and Nelson, 1990). The non direct workers can accomplish all of their
responsibilities regarding care centres. Next, the present assignment will also describe about
various interpersonal skills that are required for appropriate conversation with others in the
social care homes. Furthermore, there is an assessment of management and supervision of the
social workers. This report will provide a deep understanding about roles and responsibilities of
non direct workers.

There are various roles and responsibilities of non direct care workers in a care home.
However, their role vary while they work in operation team. Several of them are described
below:
Management: when non direct carers work in operation of a team, they learn various things
from the higher authorities. It enhances their management capabilities and skills as well.
Furthermore, while working in such environment with seniors, carers feel more motivated and
encouraged towards solving issues and become resistant to changes that may happen in social
care (Cavendish, 2013). Hence, they become more liable and responsible to follow procedures.
Supervision: The non direct care workers supervises and direct different activities. They guide
their juniors to be more patient and responsible while giving social care and support to care
users. In addition, the carers provide feedbacks of the whole process and in case any change is
required they help to implement it. This helps to other workers to increase the confidence level
and performance. They efficiently supervise all people and activities.

The non direct carers play numerous roles to maintain the security, health and safety
factors which are discussed as follows:

Maintain health in social environment: The non direct care workers ensure that all the
procedures like making social care centres neat and clean is being done or not. They make sure
to keep an eye on making healthy environment (Compton and Galaway, 1999). For this, non
direct carers indulge in making available hand washes and anti bacterial soaps so that hygiene
can be maintained. In addition, personal equipments also be provided to maintain health and
safety at social care.
Maintain safety in social environment: It is the responsibility of non direct carers to ensure safe
disposal of all waste and unused chemicals so that it cannot harm care users, other workers,
environment and animals. Additionally, there are various substances that are essential to be used
in social care but at the same time, they can harm eyes or skin of people (Ferguson, 2003). So it
is essential for them to be stored at safe places where service users and children cannot reach.
This responsibility is of non direct care workers to provide safety assurance to care users and
other staff members.
P 5.Importance of supervision and management
Supervision consists of administrative management, learning practice, being supportive
etc. in this, workers become bridge between other staff members and organisation. The success
of social care centres depends upon skills and talents of both direct and non direct care providers.
Non direct carers acts behind the direct ones as they guide them for about how to treat and
maintain how to treat and take care of the health of care users.
Furthermore, it can be said that supervision is a spine of social care centres and its staff
members must be supportive. To provide proper care and support to patients, non direct care
workers have to be so efficient so that they can manage all the activities from treatment to
cleanliness of care homes. Also, supervision becomes essential to giving care to the patients who
are fighting with life and are on the last stage of it. This relates to build emotional resilience. In
addition, non direct workers need to guide staff members to not behave with the care users on
the basis of their race, colour etc. This way, discrimination can be reduced to a great extent. It
can be happen with the help of correct supervision and guidance. Along with this, management
skills are also required for non direct carers. There are various tasks and activities in social care
which requires good management skills (Kaplan, Cassel and Gore, 1977). The managers need to
pay attention on all activities occur in care centres. They have to ensure to maintain peace among
staff members and care users.

CONCLUSION
From the above assignment it can easily be said that there are various roles and
responsibilities of non direct care workers while working in social care centres (Munn-Giddings
and Winter, 2013). They need to play their roles effectively and efficiently. Furthermore, the
major roles that a care worker should play are, monitoring health and safety at care homes,
giving proper care and support to patients and handle critical situations. In addition, the correct
supervision and management is also important in social care homes.
