INTRODUCTION
In modern era, market is said to be dynamic in nature. New tools and techniques comes
on daily basis. It is important for organisations to adapt those changes. This helps in running
business successfully and also aid in giving competition to rivals. Another thing which is
important for corporations to keep on analysing that what changes their competitors are making.
This activity may lead enterprises to increase their goodwill and brand image in marketplace. In
this report, two organisations have been taken Starbucks and Costa Coffee. Both of organisations
doing business is same commodities. Mainly, they manufacture coffee products and provide
services to customers related to them (Aslan and Reigeluth, 2013). Assignment, is going to put
light on changes that these companies are facing from time to time. Apart from this, project also
considering about leaders and their team that aid in decision making for company. All the
activities helps firms to attain targets in an effective manner.
TASK 1

Adapting the changes are necessary for organisations to keep on running their business in
a successful manner. In market on a regular basis new tools and techniques comes. It is managers
and leader responsibility to grab those changes for betterment of company. Most of the time
these changes put positive effect on profitability and productivity of enterprises. But, sometimes
wrong decisions may lead corporations to create losses for itself. Hence, supervisor continuously
should keep an eye on that if the changes are necessary or not for firm. These changes can be
anything like alteration in governmental policies, modification in taxes, interest of consumers,
new technologies and etcetera. Thus, for developing goodwill and image of brand at marketing
sector.
Acceptance of alterations is essential. Starbucks and Costa management should keep on
finding and collecting data which is related to their objectives. After that, planning is necessary
like setting budget for organising changes that company is willing to attain. These modifications
within firm may aid in making long term relations with customers. Quality of products and
services may also get enhanced after applying all the changes. Providing satisfaction to
customers has become one of major aim for firms in today's world (Doppelt, 2017).
Successfulness in these actions may lead organisation in attaining goals and objectives in both

known organisation in all over world which is delivering products which are related to coffee.
Company like Costa coffee are continuously giving hard competition to this firm. This aid in
making unique plan which enhances their productivity and profitability.
Costa Coffee
A British multinational coffee brand which was found in London in 1971. Mostly,
organisation is delivering roasted coffee products to its consumers in all over world. They are
expanding its business in a continuous manner in other countries as well (Foltin and Keller,
2012).
Both of organisations are using different strategies. They are dealing in same sector but
have various style of working and also follows different policies which are mentioned beneath:

desired for. Workers are said to be an asset for an organisation. Hence, supervisors should keep
on motivating them towards their goals and also train them at their weak parts. This improves
both; productivity as well as profitability of the firm.
Internal drivers: Structure of organisation, employees, capital, managers and leader can be
stated as Internal drivers.
Capital funds, workers, operational activities of an organisation comes under this kind of
drivers (Fullan, 2014).
For running business in a successful manner it is essential for Starbucks and Costa coffee
to keep on helping society in different ways. This improves their goodwill and brand
image. Relation in between employer and employees needs to be healthy this aid them in taking

for supervisors to tell the changes that they are making and how it will effect in operational

can be made. Autocratic : This type of style consists where leaders takes decisions and gives order to
others that they have to accept or follow anything what he/she made changes. Laissez Faire : In this type of leadership style, leaders gives opportunities to individuals
and give them tasks according to their capabilities and talents. After this, supervisor keep
on pushing that person to his/her limit so that targets can achieved of that human being in
a short period of time (Salmela, Eriksson and Fagerström, 2012). Transformational: Under this type of leadership, supervisors makes changes as per their
