PROJECT 1
1. INTRODUCTION
An event is a type of festival, celebration, ceremony and convention that is organize and
manage by a group of person to their client and customers. A conference is a type of meeting that
is done by people which confer related to a particular topic. To conduct this report Mighty small
is to be undertaken that is a local grocery business in UK and recognize as a bestselling food and
drink by British Start-ups. Now this local business diversifies their business into new concept
that is event management (Morrison, 2018). For this they need to focus on involves several
categories and dimensions of events and conducting difference between them. Further it explains
current trends and features that influence event sector along with adapting innovative trends to
stay trendy. Further it critiques development of event sector using specific examples of different
categories of events. At last prepare a room layout for wedding party along with additional
services as per client expectations so that more profits are enjoyed by firm.
2. Different categories and dimensions of events using examples to illustrate differences
Events are specifically designed for enjoying several types of functions, ceremony etc.
that accumulates group of people or number of individual person for specific objective like
celebration, entertainment, wedding, corporate, sponsorship etc. within particular time and venue
(Posenato, Zerbato and Combi, 2018). In terms of Mighty small, they mainly focus on diversify
their business into event management for this it is very essential to examine various categories
and dimensions of events. This helps in fulfilling customers’ needs so that they are satisfied with
event and also attracts more potential customers. Basically events are demonstrated on several
categories that are presented below:
Corporate events- It is a type of event that is mainly organized by business owner for
developing professional relationship with workforce and other entrepreneur. Within this
event mainly employees, business partners and other stakeholders are invited. The aim of
conducting this type of event is to maximize loyalty and relationships with number of
essential suppliers and customers that directly or indirectly promotes the brand. For
examples- business dinners, conferences, seminars, workshops, trade shows are included.

Private events- These events are planned or conducted in order to celebrate some
particular occasion with relatives, family and friends. Therefore, within these types of
events there are limited number of guests are invited that is not for the general public.
Main examples of this type of event are birthday parties, anniversaries, celebration,
weddings etc.
Fundraising or charity events- This type of event is mostly conducted by NGOs or
social workers for raise funds to fulfill the activities related to welfare of society or
community (Vielberth and Pernul, 2018). The purpose of conducting this type of events
is collecting monetary value and other resources that are useful for protecting community
living beings. Main examples of fundraising events are charitable auctions, sponsored
sporting event, gala dinners, marathon etc.
Along with the different categories of events that shows differences in types of events
conducted it is also necessary to illustrate dimensions of events. It is necessary for Mighty Small
grocery store to strengthen their overall performance and develops strong relationship with
clients by satisfying customers’ needs and wants. Several dimensions of events that are useful
are demonstrating below in case of Mighty small:
Anticipation- It is an event dimension that states Mighty small should focus on
organizing event in such a manner that develops excitement in individuals so that
participants are willingly attend the event effectively and efficiently.
Arrival- In this event management team of Mighty small focus on offering sound and
secure arrival place to event guest so that they facilitates remarkable experience along
with providing satisfaction to clients and audience.
Atmosphere- In this event management team of Mighty small having an authority to
select venue for conducting event that is suitable for client and also easily assessable to
them to reach the venue (Barkley and et. al., 2019).
Appetite- On this dimension event planner of Mighty Small takes the right of selection of
food and meal items as per the budget of client. It helps in attracting large clients to
conduct event in Mighty small for enjoying properly.
