INTRODUCTIONOperation management refer to the business practice through which an organisationachieve highest level of efficiency to complete their work. It is a process through which anorganisation covert raw materials into finished goods and services to increase the profit for theirbusiness. Logistic and supply chain management is process of planning, monitoring andcontrolling the activities of an organisation by creating co-ordination between them. This helpsthem to deliver its products to right customers with in minimum time at right price. The presentassignment is written in context of Land Rover which is an automotive company that delivertheir cars among overall world (Arboletti and et. al., 2014). It is a British Luxury automotivebrand which manufactures customise cars for customer and its headquarter is situated inEngland. Main BodyThis task cover two areas in which Land Rover increases their efficiency throughadopting different management theories like TQM, six sigma, lean management etc. Their aretwo management areas are adopted for this report. In which one is managing people in operationsand supply chain and other is managing quality. It helps them to accomplish their goals withmore efficiency by utilising available resources with in minimum time period. Theories that are related with management operationsIt is important for every organisation to increase the productivity of their products orservices through implementing new technology in their business (Shishank and et. al., 2019).Because it helps them to attract more number of customers for their products which results thatthere is increase in sale of their products. Quality management is action of overseeing all taskand activities that are needed to maintain excellence level of the organisation. For this sometheories of operation management is as follow:Business process redesign- BPR is also known as process of re-engineering which helpsthe business to achieve high efficiency in their products. The main objective of business redesignprocess is to increase the return on their investment through which business performance of theorganisation will increased. In context of land rover, management adopted BPR process throughwhich it is easy for them to design new infrastructure that helps them to retain in industry forlonger time period.1

Application of BPR into Land Rover Land Rover is known as Luxury brand of UK which determines that its products are highin range. So it is not possible for all customer segment to purchase their product. Thereforemanagement executes different redesign process through developing methods of cost-reductionlike to reduce unnecessary expenses (Holtskog, 2013).Thus it helps them to solve their issues atbroader scale through increases satisfaction level of customers. At last BPR helps themanagement of Land Rover to expand their market area through implementing changes thatincrease or constant the value of their cars. Along with these it decreases the manufacturing costof their auto-mobiles through making new changes in all function of the organisation whetherthey are small or large. Example- BMW which is a reputed automotive brand among overallworld implemented BPR process in the organisation that change their way of producing methodsfrom lower staff to upper staff.Lean manufacturing- It is the systematic process that help production department toeliminate the waste from manufacturing process. The main intention of lean theory is to decreasethe workloads through that is easy for them to complete their task. Along with these the mainpurpose of these theory is to increase the value in products by brining innovation in its existingproducts and reducing unnecessary resources that negatively impact on the organisation.Application of lean theory in managementLand rover reduces the cost of their products through which it is easy for them to targetmore customer. To increase the number of customer they adopt lean theory as it helps them toincrease the flexibility of their process due to which it is easy for them to adopt essential changesquickly (Digalwar and Nayagam, 2014). Apart form these it helps an organisation to increasestheir performance constantly which determines that it is essential factor for the organisation. By the above paragraph it is shown that lean theory is important part for the organisationthat helps to control the cost of production system. It is very beneficial for organisation as ithelps them to cut the cost that increases the burden on their organisation due to which there isless profits in the organisation. Example- In recent years the UK plant of Land Rover faceseveral challenges through which results that there is increase in waste of resources. Thereforethey modified changes and executes lean management system through which they utilizenecessary resources for the organisation. 2
