INTRODUCTION
Personal Interview refers to the process of selecting a candidate for any particular job
position which involves an exchange of views between the interviewer and the interviewee
through a face-to-face interaction (Holstein and Gubrium, 2016). In the following report, a
transcript for an interview of General Manager at Premier Inn Hotels is being prepared along

Interview for job position- General Manager
Interview transcript:
Interviewee- Hello Sir, Can I come in?
Interviewer- Sure, come in and make yourself comfortable. Please have a seat.
Interviewee- Thank You, Sir!
Interviewer- So, please introduce yourself!
Interviewee- My name is Richard Geller and I am 34 years of age. I am a person who likes to
constantly innovate things and seek better alternatives in my day-to-day life.
Interviewer- So, we have gotten your application for the position of General Manager at our
Hotel. I would like to know if you have any prior information about the roles and
responsibilities of a General Manager?
Interviewee- Sure, Sir! I do have some existing information about the job responsibilities of
General Manager which primarily includes managing the revenue and the profits of the
establishment.
Interviewer- Yes, but that is only a brief description of the job responsibility of General
Manager. So, General Manager of the hotel is responsible for managing and supervising the
operations, training and motivating the employees to complete the tasks assigned to them in
the most effective manner, maintaining healthy relationships with the customer and ensuring
high level of customer satisfaction and implementing strategies for maximisation of
organisational productivity and revenues.
