INTRODUCTION
For every individual it is essential to enhance their skill, abilities and knowledge and for
that they contact to appropriate coach, mentor and teacher. This is so because these people will
help they in enhancing skills as well as they also guide in developing effective as well as
successful career in future (Baldwin, Omdal and Pereles, 2015). Moreover, coach, mentor and
teacher also help students or individual so that they can attain their desire goal as well as these
people also aid in resolving issues of students. This report is based on the understanding
effectiveness of coach, mentor and teacher in the life of students like Lissa, Cassie and Aran.
Topics included in this report are responsibilities, effectiveness and differences among the coach,
teacher and mentor as well as it will also include selection strategies for meeting needs of a
learner, resource needed by multi agency approach and factors influence referral process. Along
with this, it will also include process involved in one to one coaching, mentoring and teaching,
effectiveness of one to one teaching and learning situation, areas for improvement as well as
action plan related to it.
TASK 1
1.1
There are several responsibilities are performed by coach, mentor and teacher while working
with individual students from which some are mentioned blow:-
Responsibilities of Coach
 Coach provides support as well as guideline to individual students and they also ensure
that they engaged with them for attaining their desire goal.
 Coach will also understand student barriers and provide them blueprint in order to
remove barriers so that they learn effective for making successful career (Burns, Pierson
and Reddy, 2014).
 Coach also showcases growth opportunities to the student by evaluating different
networks related to that.

 Coach conduct one to one monitoring in order to understand student perspective and
issues, then according coach provide solution to them.
Responsibilities of mentor
 It is responsibility of mentor to know its students as well as taking interest in their life
and learning.
 Mentor also conduct advocating for student in order to ensure that other teaching staffs
are aware of their learning interest, needs, particular fear, passion and so on (Carnevale
and et. al., 2015).
 It is also responsibility of mentor to meet students at regular time in order to check
student is conducting proper work for attaining their desire goal of making successful
career.
 Mentor also facilitates inputs of students into the Individual education plan (IEP) as well
as they also participate in Student Support Group (SSG) meeting in order to provide
advice to students according to their requirement.
Responsibilities of teacher
 Teacher plan as well as prepare appropriate study material for students according to this
assigned course or lecture.
 It is responsibility of teacher that they design curriculum properly so that students
conduct studies according.
 Teacher also design as well as implement appropriate strategies in order to develop
independent learner or self responsible person.
 It is also responsibility of teacher to provide opportunities to students in order to access
advance technology, information and resources for solving problems effectively.

In a life of a student or learner teaching, mentoring and coaching plays an essential as well
as all these plays different roles (Darcy, Park and Yang, 2015). Some of the main difference
between mentoring, coaching and teaching are given below:-

career, some of the main effectiveness of coaching, mentoring and teaching are given below:-

Effectiveness of Coaching
 Through coaching an individual able to improve their performance and skills which help
them in attaining desire target and goal (Hartnett, 2015).
 Coaching also increase openness for the personal learning as well as development which
help in creating successful career.
 Through coaching activities a person also able to develop self awareness as well as it also
enhances their skills and behavior.
Effectiveness of Mentoring
 By getting mentoring an individual able to generate or explore new ideas as well as ways
of thinking.
 Mentoring also help a learner or students in developing strengths as well as it also
provide guidance to overcome weaknesses.
 Mentoring activities also provide opportunities for developing new skills, knowledge and
talent.
Effectiveness of Teaching
 Teaching enhances motivation level of students or learner which encourages them to
conduct work for attaining goal.
 Teaching help in promotion peer communication that enhance numbers of skills among
the individual or learner such as understanding, team working, communication and many
more (Hopp, 2015).
 Teaching helps a student or learner to enhance their skills, develop confidence as well as
help in attaining desire goal.
TASK 2
2.1
An authority or individual need to select different strategies in order to meet need of
individual learner because their requirement, need and issues are different. In respect of Aran, he
is 17 year old and it is academically gifted (Khoii, Ahmadi and Sharbati, 2015). But now he is

getting engaged in some wrong activity i.e. selling of drugs. He is leaving with his parents but
their relationship getting toxic due to Aran. In this situation he is felling trapped and started
drinking alcohol. So in case of Aran, strategies which can be adopted are authority can conduct
counseling session, provide him medical treatment for removing habit of alcohol, improve
relationship with parents and so on. On the other hand, in respect of case of Lissa she is 18 year
old girl who has full attendance in class as well as she want to establish their own business. But
now she getting bored with session and wants some additional activities and experiences. In
respect of this situation authority must conduct counseling session as well as they also involve
some practical activities in their courses that are related to business development. This is so
because that encourage Lissa as well as it will also increase their interest in courses.
3.1
Multi agency approach is considered as several services as well as team of professionals
and other related staffs who generally work together in order to provide services or facilities for
fulfill need and requirement of students or learner. This will help them in developing effective as
well as successful career (Kim, Payant and Pearson, 2015). There are several factors and
resources which need to considered while providing adequate as well as appropriate supports to
students, from which some are mentioned below:-
 Identification of barriers or limitations: According to this, it is essential to determine
barrier or limitations while working with learners because through it appropriate services
or facilities can be provided. Moreover it will also help in providing them guideline so
that they can overcome from issues, barriers or limitations properly.
 Support available for language or literacy: In order to provide adequate as well as
appropriate supports to learner it is essential to provide proper language or literacy
support. This is so because it will increase their sense of understanding which directly
linked to development of effective communication.
 Counseling service: It is essential to provide counseling services to learners in order to
give them adequate as well as quality services (McDaniel and et. al., 2014). This is so
because through proper counseling session a learner can understand their strengths as
well as weaknesses which help them in taking effective career and life decision.

 Employment provider: For giving adequate as well as appropriate services to students it
is essential to provide them employment facilities. This is so because that will help
learners as well as it will also encourage them to enhance their skills, abilities and
knowledge for getting best job.
3.2
Referral process is considered as technique or tools which is adopted by teacher in order
to get an extra assistance for a learner or students with whom they are directly connected or
work. There are mainly three types of referral process conducted i.e. counseling, special
education evaluation and disciplinary issues. There are several factors that impact or influence
the referral procedure, some of them are mentioned below:-
 Student characteristics: It is one of the main factors which impact on the procedure of
referral process because according to characters of students authority needs to develop
strategies (Sottilare and et. al., 2017). This is so because every student has different
characteristics as well as they also have different level of understanding.
 Availability of qualified consultants: A good consultant can effectively handle a
student or individual. So it is essential to have a qualified consultant so that they can
understand student need and issues which will also help them in developing proper
decision and action plans.
 Training availability: Through training a person can enhance their skills, abilities and
knowledge. But it is essential to have availability of proper training and development
programmes because through that a student able to learn new as well as effective thinks
which help them in developing future.
 Student history: History of a student impact on the referral process because background
impact on person behavior as well as nature (Tagarelli and Borges, 2015). So it is
essential to develop accordingly referral process for different students as that will help
them in handling in better manner.
4.1
The process which involved in one to one mentoring, coaching and teaching in relation to
social, intellectual and emotional benefits for students will include several stages. First stage is
conducting one to one counseling session as that will help in analyze student requirement then

second stage is prepare learner by motivating them they must conduct particular work in
effective manner. After that third phase is conduct in which authority develop strategies and
implement for the students in order to resolve their issues. Fourth stage is mentoring in which
authority will conduct monitoring that students is now performing well, is there is any
improvement not. By implementing process of one to one coaching, teaching and mentoring
issues of an individual can resolve effective.
TASK 3
5.1
Practicing one on one teaching can be helpful as it facilitates a better understanding as
each individual is encouraged to put forward and share their thoughts. There is a high-quality
interaction among the tutor as well as the learners. Also, the tutors or instructors can monitor and
evaluate the performance of each individual effectively. No individual is dependent upon any
other person and thus learns everything on his own. According to me, one on one learning and
teaching is an effective way that should be practiced (Verhagen and Leseman, 2016). This will
help me in improving my overall performance as well as enhance my productivity. This is
because the tutor will be able to pay attention to each individual and help him/her in case of any
difficulty personally. The assignments as well as conversations will be personalized and thus
there will be a better learning experience.
By practicing one on one learning, I will be able to identify my strengths and weaknesses
and thus address the same more effectively. Since the tutor will always be there too help, I will
be able to enhance my learning and improve my overall performance. As the learning speed of
each member of the team is different, the tutor can tailor the same depending on how much time
does one candidate takes to learn a particular concept (Wen, Mota and McNeill, 2015). One on
one learning will also enable me to learn more about my tutor, his/her qualifications and other
background. The course can be divided into various sections which can then be learned
systematically and effectively. Thus, one on one learning is an effective means to enhance
knowledge and learn new things.

5.2
One on one learning will help me identifying my own strengths as well as improvements.
I came to know that I possess good communication as well as time management skills. This is
because I completed and presented all assignments that were given to us well in time. But there
were certain areas that I found I could improve in, like presentation skills. My tutor told me that I
had potential and could improve on these skills by practicing my content and presenting the same
to one of my friends or peers. This will also help me in gaining confidence and thus enhancing
my productivity. One on one learning helped me strengthen my creative side as well which is a
basic requirement in today’s time. Also, since there was one to one learning, I was free to ask
questions to the tutor who answered the same.
One to one learning helped me strengthen my interpersonal skills and also, our instructor
empowered and encouraged all of us to achieve the goals and objectives effectively. The concept
helped our tutor to monitor the performance as well as productivity levels at all times. He even
provided us with feedbacks about the areas in which we needed to improve as well as areas that
were our strengths (Woodard, Pozzan and Trueswell, 2016).. Therefore, besides all this, one to
one learning will also provide me access to different opportunities and I will be able to avail the
same because I would have learned many new things and my productivity will also be enhanced.
My strengths will also be helpful in my future endeavors.
5.3
Through one to one learning, I will be able to plan different opportunities in order to
grow as an individual. In order to plan and avail these opportunities, I will have to improve my
overall skills. One to one learning and teaching is a great opportunity to interact and share ideas
with each other. Thus, this opportunity should be tapped as this will help me in my future to gain
knowledge as well as improve my understanding of different subjects. Also, this kind of
learningwill also eliminates any kind of distraction as the tutor will be able to focus on the
individuals effectively and there will be a low stress environment. One to one learning will give
an opportunity to me to step up and just not depend on anyone else.
For me, to be able to utilize all these opportunities, some improvements will be needed
like I will have to improve my overall skills of presentation and also develop confidence so that I
can interact with my peers as well as the tutor in an effective manner. One to one learning and

teaching a great way to improve various skills like communication, time management,
presentation etc. (Woodard, Pozzan and Trueswell, 2016). Improvement will help in availing the
opportunities in an efficient manner and then only the concept of learning will be useful. As
there are chances that people belonging to different backgrounds will be there, thus the tutor will
be able to understand the learning pace of each individual and pay attention to him/her
individually. Therefore, although this is a relatively new concept, it still is gaining popularity
among different institutions.
CONCLUSION
From above discussed point it can be analysis that in the life of a student and learner
teacher, mentor and coach plan essential role because they guide them for improving their skills,
abilities and knowledge by which they can develop a successful career. Mentor, teacher and
coach all plays different role as they also have different characteristics and way to conduct any
work. Along with this mentor, coach and teacher also have different responsibilities related to an
individual student so that they can attain their desire goal and objective related to career. In
respect of this these people can also conduct one to one session as that will help them in
understanding student and learner in effective as well as appropriate manner. in addition to this
mentor, coach and teacher also need to conduct their analysis in order to understand their
strengths as well as weaknesses because that will help in developing proper decision or action
plan.
