Introduction
Human resource are the most essential part of every organization throughout the world.
Specifically, in these modern times it is most important for the people to collaborate and work
together in order to enhance their efficiency (Adams, C., 2015). They are considered as a asset as
they add valuable contribution that helps the company become successful in long term.
Tesco, is the London based Company that is engaged in mentoring and coaching of the
leaders that aids them drastic improvement in their work culture. This project covers the
important of H.R in various aspects including organizational design, requirement and it's
emerging developments. In addition to this, it also evaluate relationship between Organizational
design and change in management.
Task1
P1 The importance of organizational design theory in the context of organizational structure and
fulfilling organizational strategy
Organization design is a important concepts that broadly defines the plan as well as
process of every company that provides unique experience to their valuable customers(Agrawal
and Rahman, 2015). It is must for the companies to ensure that they have organized structure
that aids them in developing powerful strategy in order to fulfill the objectives of the company. It
is also important for Tesco,to have a structured Organization design in order to establish
themselves in a unique position that enables them to fulfills the objectives of the company. This
will further be beneficial for them in becoming the leader in e-commerce industry by increase
their market shares. Some of the importance of different type of theory can be explained below:
Traditional Design: This theory was used in ancient times. It can be further divided into
three parts that is simple, functional and divisional(Bammann, 2019.Görög, 2016.).
Simple structure: It can referred that has a simple structure which has a centralized
authority and span of control. This structure most feasible to implement in small
companies. This might not be appropriate for Tesco as it will complex for them due to
their large size and large number of employee's.
Contemporary Design: It is mostly preferred by many organization that is flexible and
easy to manage wide variety of task that is must to utilize and adopt dynamic changes that are
constantly occurring in their working environment

Functional structure: It can be defined as a structure that is most commonly been used
in the organization. This is mainly based on hierarchy and divide the task force into
different department. Revlon, can be one of most common example of this structure.
Divisional structure: These structures are followed in those companies which have a
very large size. This is followed by Tesco by dividing into different divisions(Hoole and
Bonnema, 2015.. This designs specific goals that need to be accomplished by each of
their departments. This has enabled company to reduced their cost that further aids them
to quick as well as effectively manage their structure. Along with this, it has also been
beneficial for them in retaining their valuable talent. Walmart can be the classic example
of this as their business is organized and divisions including Walmart realty and Walmart
specialty stores. It enables them to focus on the end results and in turn improves the
operating efficiencies of each of their divisions.
Matrix structure: It can be referred as a structure that is followed in those companies
that requires them to focus on function along with their products. This structure is
practiced by their immediate competitors Amazon. This has enabled the company with
wide variety of advantages that includes effective management of resources and is quick
to determine the cost of a specific project.
The structure is designed by the HR department by highly focusing on their external
environment that the company to devise strong strategies to sustain their position in e-commerce
industry.

P2 Analyse the different approaches and techniques used for attracting, maintaining, developing
and rewarding human resources.
It is important for every Organization to utilize various types and theories of motivation
that is most appropriate to maximizing satisfaction of their talented employee's. It is important
for them to keep them engaged that will be beneficial for the company in accomplishing their
aims. The two types of motivation can be explained below for it's better understanding:
Internal Motivation: This type of motivation comes from within. This indicates the
person is self driven for witness his development and witnessing growth for himself.
While, he is focused on his career growth he is encouraged by his own desires .
