Introduction
Globalisation is an ongoing process of creating fortune and obstacle to sustainable
development of the society. It refers to free flow of goods and services in different economies
around the world for the betterment of society. Or in other words it is a process of interacting
with people, government, companies of different culture, climate, beliefs, value etc. In this
report, Jaguar Land rover is taken for consideration (Wellin, 2016). It is one the top luxury
brands in the automobile industry and headquarters in Coventry, United Kingdom. Project aims,
objectives and different aspect like cost, quality etc. will be explained. Work break-down
structure and Gantt chart will be made to divide the whole project in to smaller parts. Research
will be carried out for the given topic with different types of research methods and techniques.
Research will be analysed by different methods so to prove hypothesis which is made earlier in
this report.
Globalisation is a positive factor which helps company to increase their sales and
profitability so to gain competitive advantage over other competitors. Main focus of this concept
is to improve the process of flow of goods and services across borders so to every people in the
world enjoys different types of products which could satisfy their needs and wants to its fullest.
Globalisation has created a positive impact on the economic conditions of United
Kingdom. Different companies from distinct industry are investing in UK to open their business
operations which increase flow of foreign direct investment in the country. Apart from that, it
decreases unemployment rate of the country as companies are creating jobs in different sector
which is boosting UK economy or GDP to its fullest. On the other hand, it is also creating an
positive impact on cultural factor. People from all over the world is migrating into UK for jobs
which is empowering them to live a peaceful life which they could not live in their country
(Davies and Hughes, 2014). UK is becoming diversified in terms of values, beliefs, religions,
caste etc. which is creating favourable environment to maintain peace and harmony in the
country. For instance, LGBTQ community was opposed by every citizen in UK but as the time
changes, they are now living their life like a normal person and this was attained due to
globalisation. At last ethical environment has changed in a positive way after the globalisation
process. Companies are now running their business while following all the rules and regulations

set by the local government so to avoid legal issues which could be imposed by the vigilance
team or court. It assist them to increase company's efficiency and effectivity over time. So it can
be concluded that globalisation has create a positive environment in UK which is helping them to
grow and become the largest economy in the world.
Background of the Research
Jaguar Land Rover is taken for the discussion in this report. It deals in luxury cars and
XUV and operating in more than 20 countries in the world. USP of Jaguar is to provide comfort
with all the safety equipment’s and still looks lavish and elegant at the same time. They have
regularly changed or modify their cars to make it unique and attractive and this is the reason that
company has on the top of market from many years. Reason behind their success is modification
of strategy according to external and internal factors, investment in technology so to improve the
quality and at last leadership of Tata Motors which have completely change the environment as
compare to what it used to be (Martinsuo, Korhonen and Laine, 2014).
Globalisation has changed the working style of market as companies are now competitive
and regularly scanning their threats and needs of customers so to take the advantage of the
opportunity and gain competitive advantage over others. This concept has also impact the
functions or operations of business in a positive way which is described below,
Marketing: Marketing role is to identify customer needs & demands and then modify
their product accordingly. Company have their traditional marketing strategy to new one as then
only they would be able to survive in the competitive market. Jaguar now can easily connect
with their customers and know their needs and preferences through online platform. At last it is
now easier for them to increase their customer and market share by selling their products online
so that customer from another country can also buy their product with just one click.
Operations: Operation department role in the company is to transform the raw material
into final product so that customer can consume it. With the help of globalisation Jaguar have
now changed their existing technology to modern like Lean management, Six sigma approach,
Agile approach for project management etc. This assist Jaguar to improve their quality and
quantity of luxury cars which will lead to enhancement in sales and profitability of company to a
certain level (Lundin and et. al., 2015).

Human resource: Human resource department role is to manage the head count of
company so to maximize their utilisation of resources to its fullest and beside this their other role
is to maintain the peace and harmony of the workplace so to attain productivity. Due to
globalisation, employees in the company belongs to different culture which helps Jaguar to
innovate their product and services. Their innovative ideas and style of working has now
improve the overall performance of company and this is the reason that Jaguar Land Rover has
achieved maximum sales in 2018 (Vanclay and et. al., 2015).
Accounting: Accounting work is to maintain and analyse confidential information of
company like balance sheet, profit and loss account, cash flow statement etc. Latest software and
technology assist company to maintain data of company and all the individuals or groups which
are important to company like stakeholders, shareholders, employees, investors etc. can easily
get the information by sitting at their home. Jaguar employees are now more aware of different
types of rules which should be considered while managing accounting which makes management
work easier.
Aims of the Project:

Cost Cost plays an important factor while globalising any
business in other country. As funds are used by company
at the time of investing in technology, equipment’s,
human resources, manpower planning, marketing
activities etc. (Pearlson, Saunders and Galletta, 2016). If
company has not planned their budget before
globalisation, then its chances of getting failed in the
business is high which will create a negative impact on
the balance sheet of company. On the other hand, cost
incurred in conducting research by the researcher is also
high as different method is used at the time of collecting
information like primary and secondary information and
at the time of analysing the data, costly software is used
like SAS, SAP etc. Proper planning is requires while
conducting research.
Scope Scope refers to amount of opportunity does a company
has while entering into new market through
globalisation. Due to efficiency and productivity of
Jaguar, they have a large scope in every market they
enter. It will help company to increase their market and
customer share in the market which will lead to better
sales and profitability of Jaguar. Researcher have scope of
finding the relationship between globalisation and
company's performance over time (Bertels, Koen and
Elsum, 2015). Other than that, they have chances of
finding the concept and how it create an impact on
various functions of an organisation.
Time Time plays an important factor in the success of company

due to globalisation as if whole project is not completed
within the pre-set time then more money will be incur by
the company which is negative for their growth. More
time taken by Jaguar for globalisation will depicts their
inefficiency of planning as technology and strategies
changes very often. Researcher should also complete their
research on time as money incur in the project will be
high and it is hard to get the accurate results (Silvius and
Schipper, 2014).
Quality Customer experience and their engagement with
organisation will only improve if company is providing
best quality of product so to satisfy their needs and wants.
Jaguar Land Rover should use advanced and latest
technology to improve their cars quality and quantity. For
researcher, it is important for them to maintain their
credibility and quality while researching as then only it
would be helpful for company (Oakes, 2016). Researcher
can improve their quality of research if they eliminate or
avoid different factors like favouritism, biases, genuine
research, proper use of different methods of data
collection etc. while doing their work.
Communication Communication plays an essential factor while
globalising their business operation as stakeholders,
shareholders, investors, employees should be aware of
every decision made by the board of directors and
management. It will also assist employees to avoid any
kind of conflict among them or any confusion which is
hampering their performance which will leads to
enhancement in motivation while performing their work.

Jaguar can communicate with their stakeholders or
employees through telephone, video calling, face to face
interaction etc. (Spender, 2014). Researcher should be
equipped with communication skills as it will help them
while interacting with respondent at the time of surveys
or filling of questionnaire. Besides this they should
communicate with their mentor so that any mistakes
would be avoided which could affect their research in a
negative way.
Risk Risk is a factor company should considered while doing
expansion of business as if ROI is less when compare
with their expectation then it is of no use to conduct
globalisation. Jaguar should asses all the risk which could
be face by company at the time of globalisation and
prepare them for it so that performance would not get
affected in future. On the other side, researcher should
analyse all the risk which they might get faced while
conducting their research and find out the solutions of it
as even a single factor can affect the quality of research
and result (Lientz and Rea, 2016).
ResourcesThere are different types of resources which
any company would need at the time of expanding their
business in foreign country like human resources,
technology, money, raw materials, machinery etc. Jaguar
should be equipped with all the important resources
which will assist them for smooth functioning of
operations. For researcher, there are different type of
resources like books, magazines, newspaper, journal,
research paper, online information etc. It will help the

researcher to conduct their research smoothly and
accurately (Boyle, 2017).

Primary and Secondary
Quality and Quantity
Research refers to careful and systematic study of any
specific topic or problem using different types of
scientific method so to find out the feasible solutions of it.
There are two different types of research i.e., primary and
secondary research which is explained below,
 Primary research: It is a type of research in
which information is collected for the first time
through various methods like questionnaire,
survey, face to face interview, panel interview,
observation etc. This type of research is time and
money consuming. While conducting there are
two types of information one is specific and other
is exploratory. Specific has limited scope and
structured in nature on the other hand exploratory
has large scope and unstructured in nature.
 Secondary research: In this, data is collected
through different sources like books, magazines,
journals, online platform etc. This method is fast
and cheap to use as compare to primary research.
Though there is a drawback in this as data could
be modified according to the personal need
(Hillson, 2017).
 Qualitative research: Qualitative research is
exploratory in nature as it helps to understand the
opinions, actions, beliefs etc. of other. Through
this way, reason behind every actions of human
could be find out though sample size taken for this
is low as it consumes time and money. It can be

attained with the help of observation techniques,
face to face interview, panel interview etc. No
numerical data is collected in this due to which
chances of errors are also high.
 Quantitative research: It states that it is specific
in nature in which numerical data is collected
through different tools and techniques and then it
is analysed to find out the results of research.
Various techniques like survey, questionnaire,
interview etc. is used in this. It consumes time and
money but the results obtain from it is accurate in
nature if and only if all the factors which could
affect the quality of research is eliminated.
Work Breakdown Structure for the Project
This structure divides and control large projects so that people can get things done faster
and more efficiently. It is a hierarchical tree structure that outlines projects and divides it into
smaller and more administrable tasks (Jeston, 2014). Such breakdown of structure means work
can be done simultaneously by different team members which results in better team spirit and
easier management of overall project.

Function of each area:
Planning of project: This is the first phase of WBS in which topic of the research will be
find out with their aims and objectives. All the problem which might be faced at the time of
researching will be explained and how it can be removed or avoid will be planned. Whole project
will be divided into different parts and time will be allotted to them according to their priority
level.
Implementation: This is the second phase in which whole project blueprint will be
developed and research would be done according to that. Sources which could be use researcher
will be decided along with methodologies of research. All the expenses which could be incurred
in the future will be computed (Nicholas and Steyn, 2017). Data collected from different
respondents will be recorded and then analysed it with different tools and techniques. At last
evaluation of the research will be note down.

Project closer: This is the last stage of WBS in which documentation of the whole
project will be done after checking whole report again. After that, project will be submitted to the
mentor.
Gantt chart:
They are most commonly used for tracking projects schedules. It is a way of showing
activities displayed against time and graphical presentation of schedules helps in plan, control
and tracking the activities of a project. It is a bar chart that list the activities to be performed on
vertical axis and time intervals on the horizontal axis.

Research Methodology: It is a ongoing process of collecting information from various means
like primary or secondary research so to take the dynamic business decisions.
Data collection: It is a technique of collecting data from various sources so that it could be
transform into information and then use it in the research to obtain the result.
Questionnaire: It is a set of questions which is based on the aims of the project and made by the
researcher so that they can fill it with different respondents. There are two types of questions,
one is open ended questions and other is close ended. In close ended, questions have specific
answers which is already written by the researcher and respondents have to choose out of all the
answers given in the questionnaire. Open ended questions are those in which answer is not
written by the researcher and respondent have to write it according to their perception.

It can be concluded from above report that globalisation is important for any company as
it will increase their market share and profitability to a certain level. Proper planning is required
by company before entering into any market as chances of failure is always high. Company
should prepare their employees with proper training so that their performance won’t get affected
while performing in other country.
