INTRODUCTION
Visitor attractions are the attractive places that attracts tourists from various countries
around the world. It is very important for the governmental bodies and the legal authorities of the
nations to make sure that they are managing all the locations properly so that the growth of
economy could be maintained. Present report is based upon visitor attraction management in
London (Björk and Weidenfeld, 2016). An entity named London and Partners which is the
official promotional agency in London promote the city all around the world so that tourism
could be generated. It is focused with different elements like importance of visitor attractions and
scope along with scale of the industry, impacts of visitors, their type and motivations for
different visitor attractions. Apart from this, feasibility study into the development of the existing
visitor attraction and the application of visitor management techniques along with their impact
on sustainability are also covered in this report.
TASK 1
P1 Discussion of classifications of visitor attractions along with specific categories of it
Tourist attractions are the places where tourists visit and spend their quality time. In order
to maintain the interest of the visitors, legal authorities of all the countries are responsible to
make sure that effective strategies should be formulated so that the long-term goals such as
increased economic growth. The classification of different visitor attractions along with their
categories are as follows:
Classification of visitor attractions:
Built: All the tourist locations that are made by human being are classified as the built tourist
attractions. These are attractive because of their unique infrastructure. The categories of them are
as follows:
Not built for tourism purpose: These are such locations that are mainly made for
tourism purpose and attracting large number of visitors. Purpose of such places is to
facilitate the daily life of the individuals who are living in the city. One of the main
examples of such attractions is Millennium bridge. Earlier it was made for the local
citizen so that they can cross the river without difficulties. Now it has became an
attraction as it is very beautiful (Blumenthal and Jensen, 2019).

Built mainly for tourism purpose: All the places that are built for the purpose of
attracting large number of tourists are known as the part of this category. One of the main
examples of this category’s tourism attraction is The British Museum. Different types of
unique items are placed in it which are related to the ancient period.
Natural: All the tourist attractions that are naturally beautiful and attracting large number
of individuals are classified in this element. It could be categorised in one category which is as
follows:
Natural attractions: These are such places in London which are naturally beautiful and
attracting large number of visitors every year. One of the examples of such types of
attractions is The Regent’s Park which is a natural attraction and attracting large number
of visitors every year (Enseñat-Soberanis, Frausto-Martínez and Gándara-Vázquez,
2019).
P2 Importance of the range of visitor attractions along with their purpose and impact upon
economic growth
All the tourist attractions are the places which are creating revenues for the countries so
that the economy could be developed. London is a very attractive and amazing place to visit for
visitors. All of them are maintained by the local authorities so that the number of visitors could
be increased. All the attractions are also contributing in the growth of local, national and regional
economy. It could be understood with the help of following discussion:
Millennium Bridge: It is a tourist attraction which was mainly built for facilitating daily
life of citizens of London. After some time, it was declared as the tourist attraction because it
was very beautiful and its infrastructure was very unique. Purpose of it is to reduce the faculty of
the London’s citizens to cross the river. It is contributing in local, regional and national economy
because every year end number of visitors visit this place in London which enhances the GDP of
the country and the whole region (Kebete and Wondirad, 2019).
The British Museum: It is based in Bloomsbury; London and it is one of those places
which were originally made to attract large number of visitors. Its purpose is to attract large
number of tourists and increase tourism in London. It is contributing in the development of local,
regional and national economy because the revenues that are generated by it on yearly basis are
very high.
