INTRODUCTION
Partnership in health and social care leads together two and more companies which
empowers them and maximizes advantage of available resources and transform them into large
benefits and wellbeing of the society. A good partnership among the companies helps together to
upgrade their position in the society as well as improves quality of care as compared individual
organization. Working in partnership with professionals, volunteers and carers brings outcome-
based care in the society and improves healthy people ratio. The partnership includes paid,
unpaid workers and friends & families whereas each person has own role but no role is more
crucial than any others. Effective implementation of the partnership empowers the organization
with additional knowledge, confidence and skills which are crucial for the planning of better
health care and social care services. The report provides understanding about numerous aspects
of partnership in the health and social care with other related factors.
Task 1
The philosophy of working in partnership
There are some philosophies of working in partnership in health care and social care
which helps to understand significance of partnership for the individual as well as society. These
are explained below as follows:
Empowerment
Initially, organizations involve in partnership working that each one must has good
coordination to each other in respect activities and cooperation which empowers organizations to
gain the target goals and objective over the time period (Anderson, McKee and Talbot, 2017). In
addition, partnership working must ensures that everyone in the health care centres has freedom
to make their own decision and choice based on that which work is more appropriated for them.
There is an example to understand empowerment philosophy such as people who is health care,
has freedom to choose own timing for eating foods. This situation assures that patients have to
eat their meals either they are not feeling hungry or never comes.
Respect

It is second philosophy of partnership which states that partnership needs mutual respect
between two or more parties because it leads high understanding and maintains wellbeing of
individuals (Grundy, Elliott and Stevens, 2019). Collaboration between health care and social
care helps individual to work smoothly whereas respect supports to develop strong inter-
organizational relationships among the partner.
Independence
Independence philosophy in the partnership working is important because it ensures
everyone that they have right to choose whatever they feel best suitable for them. Independence
is crucial at the health care centre because it is important for the organization and individual
wellbeing. For example, when individuals are allowed to take decision or helps the management
to develop plan and come with effective strategy which fulfil every individuals objective in the
health care centre (Astbury, Shepherd and Cheyne, 2017).
Interdependence
When organizations work as partners in the health and social care services, in that
situation they must depend on each other for financial and social support (Glasby, 2017).
Interdependences between partnership organizations supports in the coordination of activities,
lead optimum utilization of resources and shares information’s which are required for the
decision-making purpose. For example, NHS England and other health and care organization
both works in partnership that empowers each other in respect of resources and financial
perspective.
Making informed choices:
It is last philosophy of working in partnership whereas organizations works as partner in
health and social care sectors must be enable to take effective and informed decision so that each
one in partnership gets benefit as well as service users (Chesters and et.al., 2016). There is an
example of Age UK Croydon, Croydon Council, GP practices and other local NHS are
collaborated to each other for improving their care services and influences the wellbeing of older
people in Croydon. While local NHS provides 24/7 health information services to the patient that
improves healthcare practices of employees in the organization.

Evaluation of partnership relationship in the health and social care services
There are two type partnership relationship that can finds in health care and social care
sectors. Partnership relationship has described below:
The client-professional partnership
In this relationship, healthcare experts and patients work together to identify tests,
treatment and supports package on the basis of patient’s potential and clinical experience. This
relationship has fewer benefits such as it keeps patient at the centre of practices to ensure that
their needs are fully achieved. Secondly, patients start up to feel empower and valuable when
they get better satisfaction with services which offers by health professionals. Third benefit is
that patients needs and preferences are respected in the partnership which maintains their
wellbeing in the workplace. There is an example of NHS organization which follows this
partnership such as NHS organization provides social care and health care supports to those
people who have learning difficulties (Emmanuel, 2017). NHS’s nurse communicates with
patients properly to understand their needs and preferences and provides those type supports
which patient wants. Such as most of the patient who does not like someone helps them all time
while learning activities, in that situation they expect someone act with them as eligible person
that improves their recovery. On the other hand, some patients who needs supports all time while
learning activities, so they require health professionals assists to learning activities. Thus, NHS’s
nurses understand individuals’ attitude and offers health care services as per patient
requirements. So, it can be illustrated that health professionals works in partnership with the
patients as result enables to deliver better services which meets patient’s needs.
Multi-agencies relation
According to the concept, different health professionals and agencies works together to
influence the services user’s quality of life. The main goal of the partnership between multi-
agencies is to fulfil patient’s needs in adverse manner. All partners are equally empowered to
perform better roles in the society (Estacio, and et.al., 2017). The relationship is not proved
fruitful for the old Deanery at Oban house case. In the case found out that 98 years old Deanery

was treated roughly by care supporters and they left her for two hours while she was calling
repeatedly for the help to go to the toilet. This seen was captured by secreted camera and it
uploaded in the BBC news then Croydon directly suspended seven care workers and one was
sacked. By the case can be understood that if the health professionals keep regular coordination
to each other then it could possible this case could never happen. So, multi-agencies relationship
in partnership must important to get best result in the patient health.

Partnership working has numerous type outcomes within health and social care context.
The collaboration between two and more parties brings different skills and knowledge which
improves quality of care service (Huby, Cook and Kirchhoff, 2018). In addition, it improves
decision-making and whole service delivery process effectively. Most of the time it happens that
partnership working delivers holistic service to the service users who improves their health or
reduce health. The outcomes may be possible both positive and negative aspects of the
partnerships. These are described as follows:
Outcomes for the users of service
Partnership working leads positive outcomes for the patient such as it empowers them by
keeping in centre for the health treatment. In the partnership working, patient and health
professionals works together by determining number of tests, patient acceptance for the
treatment and others. it helps health professionals to give those services to the patient which are
actually required and recovers them quickly (Khanand Puthussery, 2019). Thus, partnership
working improves delivery service process as well as make the patient feel valuable in the care
sector. There a drawback of partnership working such as miscommunication is the major source
which brings conflict crisis in the both one. For example when health professionals unable to
understand needs of the patient and miscommunication takes place between them, in that

situation gets negative outcome in the organization. second consequence obtains between patient
and professionals while working in partnership when health professionals implements their rules
and regulation on the service user, in that phase they feel disempower themselves.
Outcomes for professional
Partnership working gives positive outcomes for the professional as well. when two and
more parties works in the team and takes decision by consulting to each other that automatically
improves working efficiency. It brings effective communication between partners and avoids
duplication of fake news. This effective communication improves productivity of working and
creates healthy atmosphere (Kline and et.al., 2018). Sometime it leads mismanagement of
funding when finance department is not keeping data of expenditure and investment of funds as
result this situation takes place. So, it is major drawback of the partnership working in the HSCs
Outcomes for organization
Partnership working leads positive outcomes for the organization as well such as it gets
common working practices. For example, when two or more parties works in partnership, in that
state, management assigns tasks to group of people whereas individual person work on the same
platform but individuals play their roles independently. Thus, it leads common working practices
in the HSCs which improves performance of the organization the health and social care
industries. This partnership increases costs of the operation as well because they work together
so, productivity improves but financial system is single as result leads shortage of funds. It is
major drawback of the partnership in the HSCs (Lewis, 2016).
Analyse the potential barriers to the partnership working in HSC (health and social care services)
There are various barriers to the partnership working in the HSCs are evaluated below:
Structural barriers
There are various organization that follows different types of organizational structure in
health and social care service which develops troubles while building the partnership in health
and social care (Longmore, Penny and Jones,2016). The services are classified among the
organisations in partnership, but sometimes it happen a particular company denies to perform
tasks and offers the certain services to the user.

Procedures barriers
Companies has specified procedures to deal with specific demand of the service and
various procedures and policies are designed as per the structure of the organization. these type

It is not mandatory that the companies who involves in the partnerships have the strong
financial resources or same approach like other organization. for example NHS is a
governmental organization which has wide range difference from the private organization in
term of financial resources which creates issues in partnership sometimes.
Professional barriers
Every corporation has own procedures, policies and values which are sets as per own
organizational structure. So, when organization who has different policies and process and
values, involves in the partnership, then they must understand and gives values to personal and
professional interests of each other as result improves understanding level and wellbeing of each
other in partnership.
Strategies to improves outcomes for partnership working in HSC
There are various barriers to the partnerships working in health and social care service
which have described above. There are various strategies in the HSCs that transform barriers into
the strengths and gives positive outcomes in the partnerships working. When these barriers
obtains in the HSCs then it is major responsibility of the companies to ensure that everyone
wellbeing is maintained in the workplace or not. Patients are the first priority of the organization
because they requires more supports so each organization empowers the patient by offering
desirable services to them. But employees also main priority of the organization because they
offer services to the patient (Lowe and et.al., 2019). When employees are not empowered in the
workplace that automatically impacts their service delivery process as result does not get good
outcomes in the patient health. So, organization involves staff as well partnership working and
empowers them by inviting decision-making process which automatically eliminates

professional barriers in the partnership working. It will be beneficial for the organization if the
policy awareness associated with HSC is shared among the partners that builds fair relationship
among them and reduces miscommunication barrier. To delegate responsibilities based on the
qualification of individuals by the management as result reduces structural barriers and leads
productivity in their working as well. in other case if people are not qualified or less qualified,
then organize proper training n the effective manner so they learn how to deal with critical
situations and it may possible they use effective skills to resolve the issue related to health am
social care. these are effective approaches that can implement effectively which resolves all the
issues of HSCs and improves their wellbeing in partnerships working.
CONCLUSION
The brief study provided understanding about health and social care service which works
in partnership, there were various challenges arose and crucial to faced them and resolved them
in efficient manner instead of avoiding. It has been concluded philosophies of working in
partnership in HSCs. Analyse model of partnership working and various type legislation
associated HSCs can be summarised in report. The brief has given information about potential
