INTRODUCTION
In the modern era companies have to face huge competition, in such condition they have
to make effective policy and maintenance strategies so that entity can meet with the goal. Current
study is based on Purple Mail Company (PMC). It operates in the courier industry. Cited firm is
facing issues related to leadership, management and administration. From the last few years cited
firm is facing huge loss (Armstrong and Taylor, 2014). Present report will discuss impact of
legal, ethical consideration to recruitment process. Skills and attributes need for the leadership
will be described in this study. Furthermore, report will assess benefits of team working and will
review effectiveness of working in team in order to achieve goal of the company.
TASK 1
1.1 Preparation of documents for selection and recruitment process
Staffing can be considered as one of the most important part of business operation. It is
the responsibility of HR manager that to select right candidate. Human resource manager has to
ensure that it analyses skills of the candidate in the recruitment process and accordingly select
the most deserving applicant those who can contribute well in the success of business unit
(Brewster and Hegewisch, 2017). For recruitment and selection of the right candidate HR
manager of Purple Mail Company has to prepare some documents. These are explained as
below:

It is the most essential document, by preparing this document individual make sure hat
right candidate apply for the right position in the organization (Brewster, Mayrhofer and Morley,
2016).

and ethical aspects to Purple Mail Company. Various laws and their impact are as following:
Equality act 2010: This law has been made by government to eliminate discrimination in
the organization. It helps in providing equal opportunities to all candidates. Human
resource manager of Purple Mail Company has to ensure that all employees get equal
treatment in the workplace, they get equal opportunities (Bolman and Deal, 2017). If
company fails to provide equal environment to candidates then they can complain against
employer which can impact negative on the business unit. By following equality act

strictly Purple Mail Company can motivate candidates and can create healthy

Data protection act 1998: It is another regulatory framework which is made by
government. The main reason of implementing this law is that to protect confidential data
of employees. It is the responsibility of the firm that not to leak personal detail of workers
with others (Ward, 2016). Purple Mail Company follows this legal framework strictly
that impacts positively on the business unit and helps the firm in increasing satisfaction
level of workers to great extent.
Employment and wages act: It is another legal regulation which ensure that company
give equal wages to employees. Salaries need to be given on the bases of skills and
qualification of the person. If Purple Mail Company gives unequal wages then this act
gives right to the person that to raise complain against employer (Priest and Gass, 2017).
In such condition brand image of the entity can get down and it may have to face penalty
as well.
1.3 Evidence own self in selection process
In the selection process being HR manager I will have to contribute well.
I will give advertisement in the new paper for the vacant post of HR executive for Purple
Mail Company. I this advertisement I will give full detail about skills required in the
candidate and the qualification as well.
I will conduct written examination for the candidates those who come to the organization
for interview. I will schedule test for them. In the written test I will include qualitative
and quantitative questions so that their skills can be analysed properly,.
After that I will shortlist the candidate and will call them for the interview session. I
would be the part of recruitment committee, I will ask questions in interview in order to
analyses personal skill of the person.
After that I will discuss with recruitment committee and will take final decision of
selecting deserving candidate for the vacant post.
1.4 Own contribution
Being human resource manager of Purple Mail Company, it is my responsibility to
develop healthy work based environment so that all employees can perform their work

effectively. I will have to pay attention on some aspects in order to select the right candidate for
the vacant post (Johnston and Marshall, 2016).
I will ensure that no discrimination take place and candidate gets selected on the bases of
their skill and qualification. I will develop equal environment in the organization so that
all employees can perform their duties well and hey feel motivated.
I will contribute well in selection of right candidate. I will first look at the resume and
will try to analyses skills of the person. I will call the candidate on interview after looking
their resumes.
I will not follow any unethical practices in the organization. Equality would be first
priority of mine. I will make ethical practices and will follow then strictly.
I will cross check personal background of the candidate , if individual is found any
criminal record then I will not select them.
I will make sure to analyses technical skill of candidates. I will select such applicant
those who have good technical knowledge.

Leaders are the main person those who lead a team and motivate people to perform their
work effectively. Leadership is the skill of the person that supports in motivating people and
improving their working performance (Chen and et.al, 2014). There are various skills that are
essential to have in leaders:
Communication skill: Leader of Purple Mail Company is required to have good
communication skill. This will support in coordinating with others well and making them
aware with the working profile of employees. With the help of communication skill
leader of cited firm will be able to provide quality services to customers (Bresnen and
et.al, 2015).
Motivation skill: It is another attribute that are required to have in leader of Purple Mail
Company. It is responsibility of leader that individual motivate employee’s so that all
people can perform their work effectively. By encouraging workers leader of cited firm
will be able to improve their working performance. Leaders should give reward and
recognition to them so that they perform their work effectively (Leadership vs.
Management, 2016).

Decision making skill: It is another skill that should be in the leaders. If individual has
strong decision making skill then it would support in resolving issues and taking
beneficial decisions for the well fare of the organization. The main issue in the Purple
Mail Company is that its customers are not getting delivery on time, it has increased

Monitoring is most important part of human resource practices; HR manager is
responsible to monitor performance of all employees. But there are various factors that are
involved in planning monitoring and assessment of working performance (Leadership vs.
