WORKING WITH AND LEADING PEOPLE Introduction Functioning within an organization requires a large number of processes that are included as wellas integrated within the stature of functioning of an organization. Therefore, these should be paidproper attention in order to develop the functioning in the organization as well as improve on thesame as the time passes by. One of the important processes of functioning in an organization isthe recruitment and the selection process. The recruitment process includes a number of areasthat has been duly mentioned and assessed in this report in terms of Purple Mail Company acourier firm in UK. However, the management as well as the leadership in an organization alsoholds an important stature in order to make it sure that the organization flourishes with thoroughmonitoring of the employee and the managerial performances. However, the difference betweenthe leadership and management is drawn within the report with special reference to Purple MailCompany. Task 1LO1: Be able to use recruitment, selection and retention procedures1.1 Preparation of the documentation towards the recruitment and theselection process stating the documents that is required during recruitment ofa new staff for Purple Mail Company The recruitment process in Purple Mail Company holds greater significance as the staffs in theorganization has to go through a number of processes or stages in order to get selected in theorganization. The Purple Mail Company being a courier service organization is one that isrequires a large number of members both in the back office works as well as in the roles ofdistribution and delivery of the packages. Besides, the employees in the organization should holdskills and knowledge that are appropriate to the working process in a courier organization(Nahavandi, 2016).The recruitment process in Purple Mail Company includes two rounds that involve fulfilment ofdifferent criteria to work in the company. The first round looks for the knowledge as possessedby the candidate on the functioning of a courier system through answering of several questions.Page 3 of 13

On qualifying the firstround that second one is opted and this consists of a session of interview with the HumanResource manager of the company. Therefore, this is the last and the qualifying round that thecandidates have to pass in order to get recruited in Purple Mail Company. The candidates mustbe accompanied with their certificates in the last appeared examination along with the experiencecertificate in case he or she holds an experience of working in any other courier company. 1.2 Assessing the impacts of regulatory, legal and ethical considerations to therecruitment and the selection process for Purple Mail Company Any step of functioning in any organization needs to consider the regulatory as well as the legalconsiderations in order to perform the functioning that is meant to be appropriate from allaspects. The ethical considerations that Purple Mail Company should consider during the processof recruitment are to maintain the functioning through consideration of the rules and legalregulations related to the recruitment process in UK. The legal regulations for recruitment inUnited Kingdom mainly consist of the Equality Act of 2010. It considers the functioningprocedure in an organization so that there is provision of equality among the members. Besides,discrimination of the employees in terms of different traits such as gender, sex, disability, etc hasbeen paid stress under these acts. There are a bunch of laws under the Equality Act of 2010 thatincludes Equal Pay Act, The Race Relations Act, The Employment Equality Act that describesthe functioning equality in terms of religion or belief, sexual orientation and age (Carek et al.2015). Incorporation of such legal stature in the organization would impact on their improvedfunctioning in the organization that would develop the work force in the organization. Therefore,the discrimination will also help in keeping away with the grudges of the employees that mayarise from unethical functioning. 1.4 Evaluation of own contribution as the HR manager in Purple MailCompany Being the HR manager in Purple Mail Company it is my duty to conduct an efficient and anappropriate process of recruitment of the staffs in the present condition.
