Task 1
Skills and attributes are needed for leadership in ASDA Stores:
There are various types of leadership approach by which a company can carry on their team
successfully. Amongst them, democratic type of leadership style is much effective for ASDA
stores. The democratic type of leadership is a style in which the team allows group agreement
and making new ideas. In democratic leadership or participative leadership style, participants of
a team contribute a role of more participation in decision-making procedure. Every one of the
team gets the chance to participate in the decision-making process and can exchange their ideas
freely. The discussion in the team is encouraged through the democratic style of leadership. This
type of style is required in rapidly changing and dynamic environments. In the fast moving
administrations, every selection for improvement is reflected to sustain the team’s success. When
circumstances change often, democratic leadership style suggests a great agreement of elasticity
to cope up with better ideas of doing stuff ("News update", 2003).
Democratic leadership may bring the finest out of a professional and experienced team. It gets to
benefit from their talents and skills by letting the teams share their ideas, rather than merely
expecting to adapt them. This style is as effective as it keeps an open communication between
authority and the staffs and everyone could focus on the discussion. This democratic style makes
the employees ready for commitment and helps to respect everybody’s opinion.

literature show the differences between management and leadership, but those cannot give any
strong understandings. Those research cannot provide any clear difference between these two
concepts, and there is no particular differentiating line. Management is involving of organizing,
planning, budgeting, staffing, reporting, directing and coordinating and recognized as the
acronym and all these come under administration. Management categorizes as the scientific idea.
It is said that organization is a skill to get done things through workers. Management has given
priority to solve all the things efficiently in time ("News update", 2003).
Leadership is problematic to define also as it is hard to give qualities or assumption which can be
anybody leader. The definitions of leadership vary and reliant upon the situation of the person as
there may be different situations, different types of tasks in different time that's why the
leadership qualities are variable. There are various types of leadership styles as there is a
different kind of people who have tried to suggest the definition of the concept. Amongst many
ideas of leadership, the most three important concepts of leadership are inspiration, vision and
followers, but these three notions are the external the borderline of the supervision(Glitz, 2013).
Management does not contest with these concepts, and through these points, the difference
between administration and leadership can be differentiated (Bush, Bell, & Middlewood, 2010).
Leaders visualize persuasive idea at their best, and this is tough for them, and they do not borrow
itself to the process of management. An administrator implements and makes strategies for the
