INTRODUCTION
Human resource management is considered as integral part of organisation. Especially in
retail sector human resource department helps company at the time of recruitment, selection and
training employees. Leader of organisation motivate their workforce and also help in
accomplishing the task of individual employees. The main purpose is to understand the people
requirement and initiate them for active participation in decision making. Under this assignment
Purple mail company is consider which is UK based deal in parcel delivery services (Arroba and.
et. al ,2011). The company providing services in various place and known for fast growing
organisation in parcel sector. The whole project gives the description regarding the
documentation select and recruit new employees, impact of legal, regulatory and ethical
consideration to recruitment and selection process, skill and leadership needed for leadership and
importance of team performance. Their are many leadership styles which enhance the working
culture and better way of doing business through leaders and employees. Finally, it is important
to evaluate work and training development process fulfil the requirement of employees (Bush
and Middlewood, 2013).
TASK1
1.1 Documentation to select and recruit new members of staff
Recruitment is a process of selecting eligible employee according to vacant job position.
It is way of entering new talent in organisation which help in developing organisation progress
by creating innovative ideas which impress clients and initiate employees to think out of the box.
In other word screening of candidates from available resume. Therefore, recruitment include
both positive and negative process. Before implement full process some documents needed
which support in selection and recruitment of new member staff ( Czabanowska and. et.
al ,2014).
In Purple Mail Company, there is a vacant position in sales and distribution department and
documents in whole process are stated as follows:-
Job Description
Title of Job: Manager for sales and distribution department
Reporting to: Human resource manager

Duties: To know skill require for selling
process.
Ability to accomplish all daily targets at
specified time.
Providing training to all the new
employees in order to familiar with
policies and culture of organisation.
Maintain overall records related with
distribution.
Job specification
Qualifications: Graduate
MBA in Sales and marketing
Abilities: Communication skills
Leadership abilities
Problem solver in customer problems
Experience: At least 1.5 experiences in the
same fields.
Method for recruitment: Organisation use various method of recruitment but most two common
ways of recruitment are internal source and external source. Under internal source company hire
employees within the premises I.e. from internal employees on the other hand in external source
company hire employee through print media, social media, websites, portal related job etc.
To select best candidate face to face interview is prefreed by manager. Their are some
questions which will be asked by the superior:

Q1. Difference between marketing and sales?
Q2. Where you find yourself after 5 years in sales marketing field?

Q3. What methodology used by you in order to convince customers for buying products?
Q4. Why we hire you and What your salary expectation?
1.2 Impact of legal, regulatory and ethical consideration to recruitment and selection process
Every company before starting any organisation has to consider whether that business is
legal or not. In the same way at the time of recruitment, selection process HR manager has to
deal with all the laws which include Equality Act, 2010, employment protection act. This law is
the reformation of sex discrimination, race relations, employment equality regulations and many
more. Effective implementation of legal laws, compliance give protection to employees from
discrimination related to cast, creed, gender, rationality and disability.
There are many standards in Equality Act which mandate for company to consider at the
time of promotion, demotion, transfer and compensation policy. Fundamental purpose of this law
is to eliminate all the unethical practices for nation. It is needed for employer to treat all the staff
members according to his or her capability not on the basis of caste, colour and religion etc.
Manger need to gives the equal opportunity to all the workforce without any baisness. Rewards
and recognition policies enhance employees performance. So it must be given according to the
quality, ability and enthusiasm of employee in every task (Fraley and. et. al ,2011). If corporates
are not adhere with all the laws and regulation appropriately then consequences are against
company reputation and liable for penalties.
In organisation various types of policies made by HR manager like favouritism, unethical
practises, breach of contract, fraudulent polices that exploit customers and so on. Therefore, it is
essential for Purple Mail company to strictly follow all the above laws in order to maintain brand
image in the Parcel industry and concern on the protection of employees otherwise it affect their
sustainability and profitability.
1.3 Taking part in selection process
Various legal requirements which are required to be analysed in beginning procedure of
selection in aspect to Purple Mail Company:
Checking references and background: Before final selection of any candidate it is
important for HR manager to consider the background of employees. For this prescribed form is
fill by candidate in which detail regarding education, family background and past experience in

respective job. The main objective behind it to know whether employee is capable to enter into
employment contract.
Medical examination: Before appointing any person for respective company then in such
case ask the information about health conditions whether employee suffer from any critical
disease or not. This issue is concern in order to protect the employees from any diseases. For
example if Purple mail company is appointing any employee for their industry then need to
concern this factor also.
Contract of employment: It is important for both the employer and employees to discuss
all the terms and conditions related to employment which comprises of various details:

Compensation policy
Prohibition time frame
Working hours
Total number of holiday
Thus, it is important for Purple Mail Company to consider all the issue and problems arises
because of non compliance terms and conditions of employment. Ethical practises in business
environment allow organisation to experiences skilled, professional staff in near future (Godfray
and. et. al , 2010)
1.4 Own contribution to the selection process
In the procedure of selection, being an interviewer, I analysed my capacity as well as
strengths. Along with this, I maintained all the documents related to selection recruitment
procedure at the time of interview. In a particular company whenever there is vacancy related to
particular job position I need to adhere all the regulations related to recruitment procedures. In
case of large scale company I prefreed to adopt external source in which screening of application
are done through social media, print media and various internet sites so that fresh talent get an
opportunity to enter into organisation. During interview I ask various questions in order to check
the personal behaviour, skill and capability in order to handle the vacant position. The main
objective behind it to check the confidence of individuals I.e. maintaining eye contact,
knowledge about job position, nature of individuals and many others things related to selection
