INTRODUCTIONIn any organization employees and the other staff members play a crucial role as withouttheir contribution no enterprise can achieve success in long run. This way recruitment andselection becomes one of the most important process as this ensure quality of work force at anycommercial unit. Working with different individuals and leading same becomes difficult aspeople are from different backgrounds and has distinct expectations from the place they areworking with (Bush and Middlewood, 2013). UPS is a known brand in parcel industry which ismanaging to deliver products in different part of the world. The following report will talk abouthow the management of same enterprise should manage its work force so that turnovers can beminimized. The impact of legal considerations will also be discussed which will show how theyhave a direct influence on the recruitment and selection process of UPS. TASK 11.1 Document to select a new member of staffIn order to start the recruitment process documentation of different employees needs tobe done with maximum care. Distinct written papers provided by the candidate’s act as a basis ofjudgment for the selection panel. It is required to first advertise this clearly that what all are therequirements of job and how the same message will be communicated in the market so that allthose who are interested can apply for the same. The selection panel of the organization needs todecide beforehand that what will be the recruitment process followed for different job roles. Thedocument provided by the candidates also helps in evaluating their background and shows theircriminal record too if any (Grint and Holt, 2011). A number of document that needs to beprepared are as follows:Job specification- it has information regarding what all are the requirements of the job,what will be the selection criteria and for which job the vacancy is available.Curriculum vitae – It is a single document that has written information about candidate’squalification and other skills that helps in judging the person applying for the job as this waycomparison among different candidates can be done more effectively.Medical health – There are certain jobs for which medical test of the applicants needs to bedone. This document shows that the person applying for a job is physically fit.3

1.2 Effect of legal, ethical considerations and regulatory in selection and recruitment processNo organization can operate freely as their operations are bound with the current legalfactors which has their direct influence. While conducting the recruitment and selection processthe management has to ensure that they do not go against the ethical, legal and regulations thatare designed against the same by law. There are a number of laws that need to be considered bythe organizations selection panel such as:Employment act – It regulates the relationship maintained between employee andemployer. Expectations of employers are governed under this act along with the rights ofdifferent individuals so that work is carried out in an effective manner.Discrimination act – While selecting the candidate it is required that management does notget involved in any partial acts as this may lead to a legal action against the selection panel. Ithas to be ensured that equal platforms are provided to all so that fair judgment is made.Health and safety act - This is another act which ensures safety of work force while theyare working with a particular brand. Administration of UPS has to make required arrangementsso that accidents are minimized and also needs to provide effective training to the employees ifany risky resources is being utilized to carry out the operations(Lev,2013).1.3 Participation in selection processRecruitment is a complex process and while working as a human resource manager I need toperform various roles and take responsibilities so that the work is completed with greaterefficiency. Different roles that are performed on my part are as follows:Getting the right person – the first and most important role that I will perform in selectionprocess is to ensure that after completion of the whole selection process the right candidate isbeing selected. It is important as only than the hole efforts taken will be of use to theorganization.Planning the recruitment process – Before starting with the selection process it isimportant that prior arrangements are done for the whole work. This will help in reducing totaltime taken and will also ensure continuity of work.1.4 Contribution to the selection processOnce the whole process of recruitment and selection is conducted the work of managementincrease. I will have to go through the different application form so that I can do the screening ofthe same. This helps in decreasing the total numbers of forms and selection of best challenging4
