INTRODUCTION
In every organisation, workforce requires to work in the most effective and appropriate
manner which leads to accomplishment of objectives in specified time period. Leader of
company put efforts to motivate their staff members to complete their daily targets in complete
manner. Active participation of employees is reflected as basic phenomena which need to be
considered for better ideas and decision making. In this assignment, the company preferred is
United Parcel Services which is UK based firm that provides parcel services in different places
whether nationally or internationally. Further, whole project discuss about the documentation
required for selecting new employees, impact of legal, ethical and restrictive issues at fulfilling
vacant job position, skill attributes needed, techniques used in motivating employees and success
factor for whole assessment process. Organisation needs to adopt all the practices used in
leadership style in order to provide employees adequate training in order to meet the challenges
of external environment (Fraley and et. al., 2011).

1.1 Documentation requirement for selecting and recruiting new member of staff
Recruitment can be described as a process in which pool of applicant apply for vacant job
position in particular organisation. On the basis of selection process, HR manager requires to
select the best candidate from the available alternatives that's why, this process is considered as
positive as well as negative from company and individual point of view. At the time of using this
approach, some documents must be considered that help in fulfilling task. Selection of candidate
is done on the basis of the documents provided by the candidate. Assortment documentation
makes the work easy as shortlisting of candidates is done and interview is planned according to
that only.
In case of UPS company, there is vacant position for operation and distribution
department and documents require under it are stated below: -

that conflicts can be reduced. No one can be discriminated on the basis of caste, creed along with
religion and gender inequality. Management team need to enforce all the laws that protect
employees from the exploitation of unfair trade practices.
Along with that, compliances related to minimum wages must be taken into account by
HR manager so that no disputes or conflicts arise in organisation decision making. Employee
must be appreciated for good work in the form of appraisal, salary increment and promotion. It is

religion. Sometimes, in order to earn huge profit, company adopts such unfair practises which
are considered fraudulent and lead to breach of different policies, procedures and create the
negative environment. Therefore, UPS must adopt ethical principles which save the company
from heavy penalty because of breaking of mandatory laws and increase their brand image
(Stanleigh, M., 2013). There are different laws that has their indirect impact on the recruitment
and selection process of an enterprise. Some of them are discussed below in detail:
Employment act – It is an act according through which basic right are provided to work
force. It is ensured that safety and good working conditions are provided to employees so
that they can work with full dedication.
Discrimination act – While selecting a particular candidate it is important that everyone
is provided with equal rights. No discrimination should be done on the basis of
favouritism or and personal interest.
Ethical consideration – It is an act that gives emphasis on maintaining healthy and
ethical procedures in selecting different candidates who are applying for a job.
Management needs to treat them good and should disclose all the facts related to job they

organisation, candidates require some experiences of existing employees. It includes the

individuals. Medical examination: - It is required for HR manager at the time of selecting new
employees as they require to take the medical examination of individual in order to check
whether they are physically fit or not. Supervisory interview – Once a candidate has passed the medical examination this
interview take place. At this step it is analysed by the top management that the selected
candidate is the most desirable one.
Employment contract: - At the time of final selection of employee, it is mandatory for
HR manager to create contract of employment in which detail regarding salary, age
proof, leave policy and holiday condition are defined so at the time of any complex
situation, no confusion created (Godfray and et. al. , 2010).

In the whole procedure of selection as an interviewer, I get a chance to analyse my own
ability and weaknesses that I need to address. Further, I have to maintain all the documents
which are required at the time of interview. In order to select skilled employee, I publish the
news of vacant job position in advertisement, newspapers and at internet sites where lot of
people get the knowledge at the same time. This ensured the availability of the best suitable
candidates who fit for vacant job profile and easily fulfil all tasks covered under it. Thereafter, I
will also take care that while carrying out the selection process I do not perform any such
practice through which any law is violated. No discrimination among the candidates would be
done.
M2 Tools and techniques used for effective work
Manager requires to use different types of tools and techniques for the overall
development of working employees so that they can easily accomplish all the tasks in an
appropriate manner. They must organise the training development programmes so that learner

of facing complex situations. Methods are described below in context of United parcel services: - Class room training: - Under this case, employees are guided in classroom regarding all

the basis of which ranks are allotted that enhance performance of employees.
Brain storming techniques: - Under this techniques all the workforce from different
department coming at one place and give their opinion and creative ideas in order to

are working then they require to work in coordination which enhance productivity. Effective communication:- If employee is working in team then they are bound to
communicate in effective manner which create trust and loyalty factor among them and
beneficial for organisation.
Increase quality:- In organisation different employee are working and their capability
