Advantage and disadvantage of using social network in businessINTRODUCTION:Businesses are using digital technology to a great extent. It has allowed them to improveits efficiency and process by implementing modern tools and equipments. Also, business arefocusing on improving product and service quality by using technology. Digital technology isbeing used in every department of business (Schaltegger and Wagner, 2017). But it is highlyused in marketing of products through social networking sites. This is because today generationis using networking sites to a great extent. They spend most of their time on this. So it hascreated a platform for business to advertise their products via social network. This has giventhem an advantage to increase customer base by attracting large number of people. But on theother hand it has created some disadvantage to business. PROJECT OBJECTIVEThe objective to this project is to identify how social media has affected the overallbusiness operations. Aims and objectives are:- To analyse the Impact of using social media in different departments and functions.To analyse advantage and disadvantage of social network in business operationsTo find out how social network has changed the process of overall business operationsPROJECT SCOPEThis research project will help in understanding of impact of social media on business. As per view of (Hair Wolfinbarger and Page,2015), there are various advantage of using digital technology in business. Firstly it is being usedto promote and advertise products. By using different networking sites such as Facebook, twitter,etc. business has transformed its ways of marketing. Now they are not using traditionalmarketing methods for advertising. Social network has reduced the cost of advertisement. Byusing this large number of people can be attracted through single platform. As elucidated by(Kasemsap, 2014), another advantage that organisation has got is it has helped them to monitorits marketing strategies using digital marketing. This is done by measuring traffic on companywebsite and webpages. This helps in evaluating how many people have visited their website. Inthe opinion of (Robison and Ritchie, 2016), the communication process between employee andmanagement has improved in business. This has provided ease in operations through smoothflow of communication. Instruction and training are provided by using modern techniques. It hasimproved efficiency and productivity of employee as well as business. This is on considering the use of social networking in today’s modernised businesses thatare much more concerned about adopting various digitalised methods to operate the business inthe most effective form. It is mainly to satisfy the changing requirements of the customers whoare very much involved in different social media tools and techniques. As a result, to which,social networking has become an important part of their daily life and is supporting in theirroutine activities. (Denscombe, 2014) stated that on relating the use of social media technologiesin the business, it is apparent to create brand awareness in the consumers who are very muchconcerned about using social media on regular basis. It is with assistance of an influential andpertinent content to grab the attention of potent consumers to increase the perceptibility of thebrand. (Cao, Simsek and Jansen, 2015) with a distinct consent have supported the aspect ofbrand reputation which is evident to increase with effective social media strategies foradvertising the products and services.
